Ilwythe's first blow hits the left claw right in the palm, reducing it to a pulp, but the right claw is faster and the second blow crashes against a step.
Tarysaa, Daisy, Nim, Clas and Ardana can act! Any order!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With a solid stance and an unwavering focus, Clas readies himself for another throw. His shield remains at the ready, providing a protective barrier for his companions. (OOC: thwarting the first critical against a companion within 5ft, so long as he can see the attacking creature.) Adjusting his grip on his hand axe, he takes a moment to draw inspiration from the camaraderie that surrounds him, particularly the musical talents of Nim, the halfling bard. The thought of a future tavern visit, filled with drinks, songs, and merriment, brings a hint of anticipation to his features.
Axe Throw Attack: 18 Damage: 6 Inspiration to attack 2
As his hazel eyes lock onto the adversary known as the Ring Undead, Clas's determination is palpable. His voice exudes a blend of resoluteness and excitement, his words carrying the echoes of his earlier success. "All right, let's see if I've got another one! Hahahaha!" With a practiced motion, he hurls the hand axe towards the Ring Undead's right hand, his aim true and his intent clear.
Amidst the battle, Clas's thoughts wander briefly to the tavern in their future plans. He envisions the merry atmosphere, the flowing drinks, and the joyful melodies that will fill the air. And he looks forward to learning more about Nim's sister. Hahahaha!

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
Tarysaa mutters an arcane phrase and points her staff in the general direction of the staircase entrance. With a final, forceful "Ignis!" The staff's runes flash for a moment and a mote of fire leaps forth from it's tip. Moving as directly as possible, the mote gets to the area between Ilwythe and 'down the stairs' and takes a sharp left; plunging into any mass that is on the stair.
Disadvantage = 13 Hit pts = 1 Random 'what did I hit' Roll = 5 => RIght Hand
*maybe I need to go off into the woods and practice Fire Bolt more.... : ( *
The oversized she-wolf tries to bite the monstrous head, but it has time to float around the corner and the beastly jaws, albeit slightly, miss the target.
Clas tries a new shot, but the thought of well-stocked taverns and pretty halfling girls distracts him at the wrong moment and the shot is lost in the darkness of the stairwell.
Ardana, on the other hand, with the martial discipline that her career as a paladin has inculcated in her, remains focused on the destruction of the forces of evil, brings down her heavy weapon on the poor surviving hand, like a gigantic butcher's cleaver, then unceremoniously tramples the miserable remains to leave more room for maneuver for everyone.
While Tarysaa tries to set fire to the last still standing monster, but the crowd around her target is too much ... in order not to risk burning her friends, the elf wizard angles the mote of fire too much, which goes out without effect against a wall. (OOC: As written, you would have no disadvantage, but simply the monster would have +5 AC - however, sadly, the worst roll was still the first one you rolled, so the result doesn't change - the Fire Bolt missed).
Snakehairs Undead didn't expect Nim's sudden charge and simply stares dazed as the halfling's rapier pierces his eye. His head ceases to move, skewered like a disgusting skewer.
However, the hands of the undead seek revenge, unloading a hail of fists against the heroic bard.
Ilwythe pushes his way through his companions to get behind the monster, thus allowing those who wish to come forward and attack. With his trusty pair of handaxes he rages on the tenacious rotting hands that are still continuing to fight...
The undead hands don't know how to defend themselves, surrounded by opponents on all sides - the barbarian's two handaxes come down suddenly and violently, practically together, tearing both claws apart.
The stairways are now cluttered with rotting flesh, blood and ichor stained… but seemingly safe. No other enemies are coming.
(OOC: Gratz! Combat over! You survived again! Feel free to act out of turns)
Nim huffs and puffs, wiping sweat from his brow and trying hard to hide the shaking of his hands from the fright and excitement. He puts a short leg against the UNundead’s head and pulls his rapier from it’s eye socket like Excalibur from the stone only with more gore.
”Phew, well done everyone. That was a bit much but I do say we handled ourselves well. Ardana are you feeling okay? You lost a lot of blood. ELKY! WHERE’S THAT FOOD AT DEAR BOY?!”
Hahahaha! Clas starts down the steps to retrieve his hand axes. I’d wager those things came from the door Nim found in the long east hallway. Do we want to lead that fireball on a merry chase into a different room before or after we rest? Hahahaha! Clas places his hand axes into his belt. Who knows what we might find in that room. Hahahaha! He walks back to the top of the stairs, smiling.

Tarysaa has a litte shiver go up her spine. "Clas, while I commend your eagerness to explore and clash with the unknown, we really should take a short rest at the very least. Some healing and some food seem to be in order before charging ahead." She looks at the staircase and the scattered remains. "Give me 10 minutes and I canDetect Magicon these remains and this area in general. Once that is done, perhaps I can spend a few moments ofPrestidigitationto clean up this mess."
Hahahaha! There can’t be much left down there. I mean other than a face eating fireball! Hahahaha! Clas pulls the pouch that he and Nim found earlier and hands it to Tarysaa. Maybe you’ll find something useful in here. You know, for the mess. Hahahaha!

Altough disembodied heads and hands that hunt and fight lead to suppose that magic was at work, now there isn'r anymore. The elf wizard can't sense magic from the top of the stairs...
Then, with a little patience and cantrips, she cleans the gruesome mess left after the fight.
The poutch Clas gave her really resembles... one of those patches spellcasters use to keep the material components of their spells!
So, someone wishes to rest... but where? And... just a hour to catch your breath? Or a longer rest? And are you taking shifts to keep watch?
“Hmm… I hate the be the brakes on our merry cart Clas but perhaps the others are right. Maybe we could do with a sit down for a bit. Perhaps I could play a tune to soothe our souls!”
While cleaning, Tarysaa mutteres to herself, 'If I wasn't sure I'd be killed for trying, I should have tried to Identify the magic used. Oh well, at least ONE cantrip is proving particularly useful.'
She continues to clean the area while examining the area in general. Spying a sheen, she bends down and picks up a ring one of the undead wore. Not detecting any magic, she nevertheless slips it into the compartmented pouch Clas passed to her. In addition, she recovers one of the two arrows fired in battle.
Finishing up, she turns to take some time to rest with the others and can take a look at both the ring and pouch more closely.
((OOC: looking for any inscriptions or marks on the ring and embroidery or marking on the pouch >> Investigation = 22 ))
