Tarysaa looks around closely, trying to glean anything she can from these new walls and halls. [ Perception: 21 ]
Without having the time to slowly map out the area, she knew - on her own - she would soon be hopelessly lost in this maze of corridors. Thank goodness her companions seemed to find this far less daunting.

Without having the time to slowly map out the area, she knew - on her own - she would soon be hopelessly lost in this maze of corridors. Thank goodness her companions seemed to find this far less daunting.
In the corridor Tarysaa spots on the ground, a small, straight piece of iron. It will be the length of her little finger... and less than half the thickness. It is not fixed to the ground, it seems to have simply fallen there (who knows who dropped it and who knows how long ago).
Clas leads the party south and then east. (OOC: F).
"A Halfling, an Elf, and a Dwarf walk into a tavern," Clas begins with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, his solid voice carrying the anticipation of a punchline. "The Halfling says, 'I'll take some ale, but make sure it's served in a proper mug, not a barrel!' The Elf leans over and adds, 'And I'll have a glass of the finest elven wine, please.' The Dwarf grins and says, 'I'll take whatever's strong enough to put hair on an Elf's chest!'"
Clas is about to enter the branch of the corridor he has chosen... but he stops for a moment, when he notices that all that stretch, at least as far as it can be seen (that is, up to the northern turn) is noticeably blackened and ruined, with several small fragments of rock that have detached from the floor, walls or ceiling, which show numerous cracks. Some of the cracks are large enough to fit a finger through, but the stability of the passage is not in danger.
Will our hero let himself be scared, or will he walk down the corridor anyway?
(OOC: I already know the answer, but I feel compelled to ask, just to confirm...)
Clas stands at the threshold of the corridor, his hazel eyes widening as he takes in the scene before him. His characteristic optimism remains undaunted as he processes the blackened and ruined passage, along with the various cracks that mar the stone surfaces. With a hearty chuckle, he turns to his companions and exclaims, "Well, well, it looks like someone had a little too much excitement here, eh?"
His voice brims with lightheartedness as he continues, "Finger-sized cracks and all, this passage must've had a wild party of its own! Hahahaha! Don't worry, folks, it might look a bit worse for wear, but I've got a good feeling about this." Clas's words carry his energy, cutting through any hint of concern.
With a wink to his fellow adventurers, he adds, "Just think of it as the corridor's way of showing off its battle scars. We're not ones to shy away from a challenge, right? Hahahaha! Let's see what this blackened beauty has in store for us!" As Clas steps forward, his laughter lingers in the air, echoing his confidence in the party's ability to face whatever awaits them in the passage ahead.

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
The blackened and ruined part ends just at the threshold of a strange room without a door. Strange because inside you can see a series of squares with luminescent outlines in the center of which float motionless images of disparate creatures (a different creature for each square) scaled in size so that they are all about 1' high.
Upon entering, it may be possible to distinguish further details…
If you do not wish to enter, the corridor, although no longer ruined, continues for another 30' before turning south.
So, following the corridor to the end, Clas leads you all to steep stairs descending. But thick and sticky webs fill all the stairs from top to bottom! It looks like a jungle of dense oversized cobwebs! Going down these stairs doesn't seem easy...

Tarysaa will pick the bit of metal up and examine it. Corroded or not, she will slip it into her 'new' antique component pouch to study later. She will continue on with the group; pondering the damage seen and wondering if it was 'just' an exploding flaming orb or something bigger, badder, and more dangerous.
As she comes abreast of the open doorway, she will gaze inside at the creature tiles. [ Investigation = 14 / Arcana = Dirty 20 ]
As they all come to the stairs leading down; filled with spiderwebs, she looks to her companions. "Want me to light them up with a bit of fire and see if we can clear the way?"
Clas chuckles heartily as he takes in the sight of the web-filled stairs before him, "Well, looks like someone really went all out decorating for our arrival," he remarks. He turns to his companions. With a nod to the group, Clas continues, "Now, I don't know about you all, but I've never been one to back down from a good jungle adventure! Those webs might be trying to keep us out of something juicy, like a treasure trove or even that prison Daisy mentioned." His voice brims with excitement as he envisions the possibilities.
"But, of course, safety first," he adds with a grin. "Tying ourselves together sounds like a clever idea, just in case one of us decides to tumble down the stairs." Clas gestures toward the rope he's brought along.
With a nod to Daisy, he quips, "And speaking of colors, purple flags? Daisy, if that's the prison down there, we don't have purple flags. Hahahaha! So, what say you all? Shall we take a chance on these webbed steps, or do we finish mapping out the corridors up here, and maybe rest giving Tarysaa time to study the map and make an educated guess of where to go?" Clas's eyes twinkle with anticipation as he awaits the decision of his fellow adventurers.

"I hope whatever caused all these cracks isnt around anymore, but I'm not gonna get my hope too far up." Daisy stoops down and gathers a couple of handfuls of the smaller pieces of rock in case she needs more ammunition.
Continuing along, she joins the rest at the webbed steps. Taking a look at the size of the strands of the cobwebs, the dwarf stammers a bit as she begins. "Uh... i-if finding those flags will make things easier then I think it's worth checking around some more before heading down there."
Tarysaa speaks up, "I THINK I saw something along the back wall of that room with the tiles and creatures, but I am not certain." She stomps her foot. "If I had Mage Hand I could just reach out and see what might be there. Too bad none of us can fly."
"In the meantime, should I try to burn off all these webs? Or are 'we' afraid it might wake up whatever made all these webs in the first place?"
---As she comes abreast of the open doorway, she will gaze inside at the creature tiles. [ Investigation = 14 / Arcana = Dirty 20 ]---
First, in the middle of the room, there is a 15' x 15' area that is divided into 9 squares with luminescent outlines in the center of which float motionless images of disparate creatures (a different creature for each square) scaled in size so that they are all about 1' high.
Near the south wall there is a sort of small rock wall, 5' high and as long as the south wall itself, which marks off a narrow space between itself and the latter.
The description of the figures in the various squares follows.
In the northernmost row, the western square contains a winged reptile, with four legs and a tail, with white scales fading to transparency and shimmering with radiant energy - an energy that glows like starlight between the body and the spines and horns that hover close to the head and back.
In the northernmost row, the center square contains a beautiful humanoid-like creature with silvery skin. Its hair and eyes gleam with an unearthly luster, and large feathery wings unfurl from its shoulder blades.
In the northernmost row, the east square contains a hulking monster with a whip-like tail and enormous wings that it wraps around itself like a cloak. Red armored scales cover its body, and its fanged maw drips an unreassuring-looking icore.
In the middle row, the west square contains a giant bipedal insect, with clawed hands and feet, powerful mandibles, and a long tail covered in razor-sharp spikes. Its carapace is generally white in color but with some shades tending towards light blue and others tending towards light grey.
In the central row, the central square contains a winged reptile, with four legs and a tail, with dark yellow scales with big metallic flecks. Its face is sagacious and anointed with flexible spines that resemble whiskers. Its sail-like wings start at its shoulders and trace down to the tip of its tail.
In the middle row, the east square contains a muscular and hairless humanoid, with opalescent green skin and white-feathered wings, brandishing a great sword.
In the southernmost row, the western square contains a muscular and handsome humanoid, regal in appearance and with white-feathered wings, holding a bow, while a great sword floats by his side.
In the southernmost row, the center square contains an intimidating feral-looking humanoid, armed with a fork, sheathed in quite tough looking scales and with huge wings, sweeping horns and a pointed tail.
In the southernmost row, the east square contains a winged reptile, with four legs and a tail, with swept-back horns and spinal frill that define its silhouette. Its thick scales are a dull, deeper red and its very long wings have a blue-black tint along the trailing edge that resembles metal burned blue by fire.
“I think we should investigate properly before descending into these treacherous depths!”
Nim says before returning to the room with the prettily decorated tiles. Staring at them in wonder and curiosity he steps lightly onto the tile with a winged reptile with four legs and a tail, with white scales.
Clas listens intently as Tarysaa mentions the short wall at the south end of the room. A glimmer of excitement dances in his eyes as he connects the dots. "Ah, those purple flags! I have a good feeling about this," he chimes in, his voice solid and upbeat.
Tarysaa's comment about flying over the intervening area sparks a playful grin on Clas's face. "Well, Tarysaa, you made it look easy last time," he says, recalling her previous airborne adventure. "I've got no qualms about tossing you again if you're up for it! Hahahaha!"
Clas goes with Nim back to the dragonchess room, but still holding his hand keeps the adorable rascal from doing anything to early. "Nim, my musical friend, can your magical blue hand lend us a hand in this situation? Hahahaha! It might be just the trick we need to reach those flags without stepping onto these tiles." He ponders the possibilities, his mind brimming with optimism.
However, he doesn't overlook the option of jumping either. "As for me, Ilwythe and Ardana," he continues, "I'm confident any one of us can jump over two tiles, even three if we build up some momentum." Clas looks around at the group, his demeanor unwaveringly positive. "The question, my friends, is which square do we aim for? Any suggestions?" He awaits the input of his fellow adventurers, ready to tackle the challenge ahead.
"Wait! Daisy! I've seen you turn into a bear and giant wolf! Can you turn into a hawk and snatch those flags for us? Hahahaha!"
Nim is pulled back from distrusting the adventure once more by the (slightly) more levelheaded Clas just before stepping on the tiles. His eyes light up at the opportunity of providing help and he turns in a swift 360• motion, whipping out his lute as he goes and strums a ringing chord. All this causes the spectral blue hand to appear above them in a “Ta da!” Sort of waving hand motion and he says…
”Oh you mean this hand? What exactly do you think we could accomplish with its aid?”
Hahahaha! Great! Behind that wall at the south end, I believe are the purple flags. Have your blue friend go and snatch them. Brilliant Nim! Brilliant! Hahahaha!
