When he realizes that Seth is better equipped to help Progo, Tryn moves to help Tharanau in recovering the bodies and search them and the campsite for clues and items of value. (Investigation: 20, Perception: 7, used last Portent roll of 18 for investigation)

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Progo slumps down to one knee. "Progo has has better days, still better then the goblins. "Remind Progo when there is down time to work with you Goraseth to work on not getting so many cuts whe up close. Progo good at giving them, not so good on avoiding them."
After receiving the healing: "Progo feels much better now and agrees to push on. Progo mabe stay in back if dwarves give us trouble."
Between Tryncaryn and Tharanau, you can easily establish, that there are no other signs of camp, than the fire itself. It is pretty clear that was just a trap, you have not intruded someones rest here, it all looks like goblins set up that trap. Whether it was specifically for you or not, that is impossible to tell.
As for loot, you find some copper in their pockets, that would give 30cp to each of you. But as the fire was burning down, you notice a weird entangled little stick, that did not burn at all. When you took it out of the fire it is clear that this would not be a work of goblins, and they probably took it as any other stick and threw it into the fire. However you suspect otherwise:
anyone who wants to, can roll Arcana to try and determine why stick would not burn and what it could be.
When you go a little further around the corner you soon get close to your destination. The canyon’s rocky walls rise to a height of eighty feet. At the end of the canyon, a twenty-foot-high wall of black stone has a broken gate carved into it, with one stone door hanging precariously by a hinge and the other door missing. Beyond this open gate, in the shadow of a great mountain to the east, lies a ruined settlement. All is quiet.
at the destination, Goraseth with his torch tries to detect if there is anything suspicious. (Perception 22 - natural 20!). « It is quiet but let’s stay on our guards. Who knows if there are more Gobelins around. » he whispers to his friends.
/since you rolled so high i guess it is not impossible for you to detect it/
It is getting a little windy, and wind starts to quietly hum within the canyon, but it also carries some other sound, ever so faintly, when you listen closely you are sure you hear crackling of the firewood, faint and soft metal clanking, and voices, low bass voices. They do come from behind the big doors, further within the ruined settlement.

While the group approaches, Tryn tries his luck with the stick that they found. For now he will only investigate its nature but if they have a few minutes later, once they found shelter, he is determined to learn if there is magic impressed in it. Arcana: 20

Progo with his darkvision will investigate the walls of the canyon leading upto the broken door for traps or hidden spots for trigger trapped to launch from. Working his way up to the door, he will stay low, trying to avoid being seen from someone on the other side by accident (Of course if someone I'd there on guard watching not much to avoid.) Then check the door and ground around it, visually and not touching it. If still all no signs of fowl play he will take a chance and peak through an opening to see what he can.
Nothing exceptional about the doors except their massive size, and the fact that they are broken out of hinges, massive force must have been used to do that. Behind doors there are 3 or maybe 4 ruined buildings, and there is rubble and rocks accumulated by the walls of the canyon. There is a clearing of a road size between ruins that takes a right turn behind one of the buildings. You also do hear voices and sounds that are coming from that direction, seems like a conversation.

Progo will slip past the door with his bow in hand. He will continue his checks of ground and walls as he tries to follow the walls/debris towards the buildings and try to decipher where the voices are coming from and generally what language is being spoken.
it is not spoken loud, and it is echoing from the buildings in the canyon, so you would need to be closer to determine that. It does sound rough, so definitely not the melodic elven.
coming closer to the ruins at first glance they seem completely barren.
You go by the ruins to see another wall, and a courtyard behind it. A partially collapsed, ten-foot-high wall separates this courtyard from the settlement west of it. Three heaps of rubble are piled high in this area. Hewn from the canyon’s back wall, a thirty-foot-high temple facade features steps rising to a stone platform. Cut into this facade is a ten-foot-high open doorway flanked by crumbling, life-sized granite statues of cloaked dwarves. Evil grins can be seen on their weatherworn faces.
Just as you enter this area, you see campfire and two dwarfs beside it. One is eating his rations, while other is holding a pickaxe and shouts in your direction:
- Who goes there?

The dragonborn raises his torch so that the two dwarves can see clearly. "Good evening master dwarves. We are no threat, we came here from Phandalin with the job to warn you from an imminent danger. A white dragon has been seen flying around here and must be looking for a lair. The townmayor is asking you to halt your excavation and came back to the village, together we stand strong."
He waits until the whole group is around him and present each of the four companions to the dwarves. "May we join your camp for tonight ? We have some rations to share if you want."
Silver haired dwarf explodes with an answer: "HA! You think you can drive us out like that?! That is the work of our life and we are not interested in leaving, thank you very much!"
Brown haired dwarf moves his head slowly in your direction (he did not bother to do it earlier) and says with a calm voice. "Hello travelers, my name is Dazlyn and my companion is called Norbus. I would be pleased to know your names as well. We are grateful for the warning. I do not think that this little temple would interest a dragon so we will take our chances as it really is our life work to discover that place. We would also not mind you joining us for a quick supper and bedding. I would also have bussines opportunity for the likes of you: Upon our work we encountered an obstacle that prevents us from continuing. Would you like to help us tomorrow in exterminating ochre jellies, and while already there make sure there are no other threats? We do offer reward of course. What say you?"

Tharanau joins the dwarves and speaks to them in dwarvish, giving a specific greeting. Then he continues in common: " what have you found here? Why is this place so important to you? We have come bearing bad news, yes, there is the dragon, that seems to be closer to Phandalin every day. But also roaming and plundering orc groups have been more frequent in the area. And just around the corner we eradicated a goblin trap. Just all for you to be aware. Don't squander your life over some elusive treasure."
Later, by the fire, Tharanau will have a look at the not burning stick, but doesn't know what he is holding in his hands. (Arcana 5)

Once they are sitting comfortable and they agreed to help the dwarfs and share their camp for the night, Tryn starts two rituals, one after the other. First he wants to learn if there is any magic in the stick as it apparently survived the fire and then if he can learn something about it's origin and function (cast Detect Magic and Identify as rituals).
