(Who will take the other shifts?)

Tristan looks at Tendilius and nods "I can take the second shift." He says as he just rolls out a bedroll and lays on top of it, keeping his weapon and shield within arms length of him.

Tristan during your shift (2nd) you hear a twig snap to the west.

Everyone, please roll initiative. 

Tristan alerts his companions as he grips his sword and shield tight for battle.

Initiative: 11

Tendilius bolts up with wand in one hand and dagger in the other as Tristan sounds the alarm. "What comes?" he asks.

Tristan hearing a twig snap wakes everyone from their sleep.

Flores, Tristan is point to something to the west. At the moment you do not see or hear anything out of the ordinary. With your passive perception I will say that you notice the normal night time sounds have become very quite. 

Initiative Order:

• Flores
• Intruder(s)
• Tendilius
• Tristan
• Crow

Flores reacts quickly to Tristan's warning and looks in the direction that he is pointing. "I can't see or hear anything," she shares softly to those close to her. "I'm not saying we should all go back to sleep either. Do we hold tight, or go looking?"

What would you like Flores to do on their turn?

Speaking a sentence or two is cool (a free-action). Responding is also OK, but both (free-actions) should generally be minimal.

OOC: Given there is nothing to react to (yet) Flores can hold their action until later in the turn (I'm presuming that's a thing in DnD 5e)

[[Readying an action is a thing, yes. You determine an action and a trigger that uses your reaction. So you could something like "If a creature comes into view, I shoot it with my bow."

(Yep, that is most definitely a thing. There are two parts: Action and Trigger. For example I will hit attack any monster that presents itself with my Battleaxe)

What action would you like to take?

What is the thing/event that would trigger your action?

Flores readies her bow regardless, not wishing to be surprised if anything approaches them.

OOC: I do not want to automatically fire, in case the first thing she sees is not a foe

Next up is the goblins.

You see two goblins appear from around the bushes to the west. 

Goblin 1 will advance up to Crow and attack with his scimitar.
Attack 14 to hit; miss

Goblin 2 will also shoot an arrow at Crow
Attack 20 to hit; 4 Damage

Tendilius is next.

Here is the updated map:

Tendilius turns to Tristan and Flores, "I'll start working on the far one and you'll take the one next to Crow?" he asks in Elvish. He makes a gesture along with an incantation an unleashes a blast of pure magic at the goblin farther away.

Eldritch Blast
To-Hit: 13+6 = 19
Damage: 9 force damage

After unleashing the blast he positions himself further down to have a clear shot on the goblin next to Crow if it still stands after the others are done. (with North as the top of the map: SW, S, S, W, W) (SW of Flores)

Aware of the danger now, and hearing Tendilius' instructions, Flores aims her bow at the goblin next to Crow. 

Attack: 18

Damage: 6

Sneak attack: 4

Well done Tendilius, that hit and you have killed the goblin.

the 14 hits the armor and bounces off (no damage)
