(In general, the entire party gets 2 chances to pass a skill check. 2 people roll with their own bonuses, or 1 person rolls with help from the other, providing advantage. Due to Katerielle's archaeologist background, it makes sense that she would know this...)
The sword belonged to a great knight by the name of Aldith Tresendar, also known as 'The Black Hawk'. The sword was magical in nature and particularly lethal. Aldith named it 'Talon'. All of you can surmise that Aldith died defending the estate during the Orc invasion long ago and apparently the Nothic found the sword.
OOC: Ok, the module didn't say award a random level 2 scroll, it specifically said to award a scroll of augury. Now the rules for scrolls say that if you are not of the class the spell scroll belongs to, the words are intelligible and you can't cast it. Unless a specific skill/feat over-rules it.
Augury is a spell that is automatically learned by a subclass of the cleric class. So not even any cleric could cast this... Why they put this into a beginner module is beyond me. But any level 3 cleric can learn this spell.
However...
Rindelk has a spell called "Comprehend Languages". If he touches the material the words are written on (or hears a spoken language), he magically understands them. So I'll circumvent this stupidity by allowing Rindelk to cast the scroll of Augury by casting Comprehend Languages on it first. So he either uses a spell slot or takes 10 minutes to ritual cast.
Nope. Specific rulings on this by the designers. Spells on scrolls aren't languages. They are instructions on how to use your magical abilities. Without the magical abilities, no effect.
Ooc. Scroll no one can use.. into the bag of holding... Oh wait..I left it at the inn.
'while I agree we need a good rest, we are in a hostile environment with at least one bugbear plus the leader who could reappear at any moment' 'so either we press on, or withdraw completely from the manor and return tomorrow'
"If we leave now, the leader and the bug bear will not be here tomorrow, or they will be reinforced with even more. We need to end this now, while we still have some form of advantage. Droop. Lead on to the secret door."
Droop, eager to leave the crevasse room and the corpse of the Nothic, quickly scampers across the bridge and turns to the north.
This area is the north end of a large natural cavern, but it has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars, and nails.
In the north east corner is a small alcove and when Kitryn is led to it, she immediately identifies the secret door.
That being said, when we do change into beasts, we should both change into Dire Wolves. They get Pack Tactics, which means that we get advantage on attack rolls if an incapacitated ally is within 5 feet of the victim, er I mean, hostile. Plus we get a 2d6+3 bite! Nice!
Furthermore, chance to knock a creature prone after a bite. Bonus!

Leek can change into a CR 1 (or lower) beast because he's Circle of the Moon. Katerielle can only change into a CR 1/4 (or lower) beast.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The wolf has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Pack Tactics. The wolf has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the wolf's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Actions
Bite.Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
The secret door is not locked or trapped. It swings open smoothly from heavy use. Beyond the secret door, you see a short hallway with two more doors. One directly across the secret door, and another at the end of the hallway.
Hmm. This is magic beyond my knowledge. But let me tell you about this sword. "BLAH BLAH BLAH insert awesome story."

longsword, +1
One more person can roll an Arcana check to figure out what the scroll does.
Kat rolls Arcana - 6
This is a scroll of Augury
OK, what do you wall do next?
OOC: Does that mean those that can learn the spell can? How do scrolls work? I'm sure you intended this seeing as Rin is "School of Divination"
Rindelk says in a low tired tone, "We should take a long rest in the manor. Those two battles have aged us."
Looks like it's for clerics only.

And we can move on.

For those who worry about the upcoming fight, remember we have two druids that can shapeshift our asses to do maximum damage!
Leek is going to start heading in with Droop unless there is serious protest.

Dire Wolves are CR 3.
As per the monster manual here online Dire wolf is CR1...
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Yeah sorry. I clicked on Winter Wolf.
Kat still can't pick that.
BUT! The Pack Tactics doesn't rely on other Dire Wolves, just on "allies".
Yeah I know that. I just thought it would be cool to have two Dire Wolves mauling the Bugbear and/or the big boss.
Plus, if Katrielle could change into a Dire wolf we both would have advantage while attacking. Now it just seems it will be me!
Can Kat change into
https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/5e_SRD:Jackal
This way we still get pack tactics ?
A Jackal is a CR (zero) beast with 3 hp.
You can if you want to. But not the best use of your shape shift ability.
