Wasting is a good idea, but lets get the advantage. Get them drunker and passed out? Or, one of us plays their game while the others stand behind them and slit their throats...
This is all discussed openly in front of them, by the way, GM! They are too drunk to realize! (jk)
Leek grabs a barrel or anything he can find that he can use as a seat.
"I like initiations," he says, winking at Rindelk, the only other person who seems to be in the room. "What are we playing? We just started so I don't have no money though. Can I ante up my first month's pay?"
Leek pulls up between the tipsy and wasted one, so A9. As their attention will mostly be on me, I'm hoping it will give my colleagues advantage to get in position and surprise these guys.
"Borrow from my friends?! Look at us! Would we want this job if we weren't desperate for money? This is dangerous work. We heard 4 of your men got slaughtered outside some bar last night (not sure on timeline. Been a while. Please insert proper time.) I'd much rather be mining or anything else, but we heard you guys pay well. I'll be good for the money. First month's wages or my skin. Whadya say? (Big smile!)
Persuasion to have them let me ante up on first month's wages: 6
i will attempt to slip a blade into the 'wasted ruffian' while saying ; "dangerous indeed, be a shame to have the lights shut before the payout" to Leek.
what rolls are needed? initiative, stealth, advantaged attack?
Initiative: 12
stealth: 7 (this is likely unnecessary, but i want to try to 'hide' the strike)
attack: Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
attack2: 9 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
sneak attack bonus : 2
damnit.. "Unable to parse dice roll." lets try again
In case it is needed: Initiative 14 (without advantage)
I figure an awesome DM like you would allow us to have advantage to our role, because of the setup we did, (and because they are shitfaced!) so here is a second roll with advantage (in case)
I'll give everyone the chance to roll their own initiative. In all the time I've been watching people play 5e, I've never heard of a situation granting advantage on initiative. But sure, they're drunk and advantage on initiative reflects that.
@Kitryn: You can roll 1 more d20 for initiative to try and beat your first roll of 10. Also, use the macro to roll attacks and you won't have to worry about typos or dealing with crits. Advantage on attacks is a special thing for rogues and not given away for free. However, even with advantage you rolled badly, so it doesn't matter. And one bit of advice: Elila is standing beside Inebriated Ruffian. Attacking him would allow you to roll sneak attack damage. Also, sneak is not possible in this kind of situation. They clearly know you're there and can see you.
@Leek: When you roll advantage, you roll 2 dice and pick the better of the two. What you did is roll 3 dice and pick the best of the 3. Lucky for you your roll of 16 was the second die, so your initiative stays at 18.
I rolled initiative twice. The first is just the one die. The second was with two (in case you gave us advantage). They are two separate rolls. If the second roll was 12, I would have taken the 12 as my Initiative with advantage roll.
Whenever in doubt about advantage or disadvantage, roll 1d20 twice. Then I will choose the best, worst or first roll based on the situation.
If you were the first to roll initiative, rolled a 20 "without advantage" and then rolled a 2 and a 3 "with advantage" and I picked "advantage", you'd feel like I was maybe deciding to give advantage to screw with you to avoid your 20 roll.
OOC: There are no 'uniforms'. Only the red cloaks. And sure, there are a few.
OOC: Maybe we should waste these guys? Thoughts gang?
Does drunkenness result in a status, I could not find anything in my brief search.
Being drunk = poisoned

OOC: Lets feed them to the nothic? Gain more faction?

Leek has to grab one of the larger barrels to sit on to be able to see over the edge of the table.
Wasted Ruffian says, "I shaid pe waying shukle... shnukle... shnukle.."
Drunk Ruffian cuts in, "Shnuklebones."
Wasted Ruffian continues, "Shtat. No U - O - I's. Unlesh you want sh'Trace shtere co tount!"
All of the Ruffians laugh raucously at the inside joke, except for Inebriated Ruffian who is laughing, but doesn't appear to be certain why.
Wasted Ruffian gets over the joke and finishes, "Borrow from your friends and ante up. All our nomey is already on the table."

Boo. These guys are hard to win over!
Tipsy Ruffian answers Leek, "Jangerous dob. Could de bed in a month. Ante up now. And why Glasstaff yent sou to us for uniforms?"
Elila moves to C9 - Kat moves to the entrance - Rindelk moves to E9
OOC: I got my shields up still?
Mage Armor lasts 8 hours and is still up. Detect Magic expired when you left through the tunnel and came back through the manor.
i want to walk round the table.

Init - 30
Heh, not quite what I thought that would look like, rolled a 7 and a 16.
