Unhitching one of the ropes set up by the bugbears and the shapeshifter, you send your best climber up first to secure the rope for the rest to follow. This passageway is barely four feet high and is obstructed by rounded boulders and pebbles. It might have been a streambed, though no water flows here now. Continuing through this ancient streambed, you emerge on a narrow ledge overlooking a large cavern that houses a surging, seething body of water. The rhythmic booming heard throughout the mines is louder here. At regular intervals, a fresh surge of water funnels into this chamber and slams against the wall just below the ledge. The echo suggests that this cave might be one arm of a much larger cavern to the northeast.
You watch as every couple minutes, the water level 20 feet below surges up a good 10 feet and slams against the wall, creating the loud rhythmic booming you've been hearing since entering these caverns. Then the water falls back down 20 feet below the ledge.
(Feel free to place yourselves on the map where you want to be. And discuss what you want to do next or where you want to go. I'm going to be out of town and silent for one week. Until then!)
As Katerielle and Elila walk around the ledge, they confirm that one of the channels that diverted water in the past indeed connects to the the room with the large furnace and the flaming skull. Further to the south and east, the tunnel curves southward and stairs climb up into another chamber.
Climbing the stairs, you enter into a chamber with a built structure on the east side. From your northern approach, you see one door, scorched and cracked, hinges partially melted. There is a hallway leading west and the cavern wraps around the structure to the south.
Katerielle will quietly move up to the corner of the structure. She looks at the door to her fifteen feet to her left to make sure it is closed, then peeks around the corner to see what is in the rest of the cavern around the corner of the structure. Looking at the hall which should lead out to the floating skull she looks back at the group holding up a single finger to her lips in the universal quiet sign. She looks around the corner at the rest of the cavern again to be sure.

((So if we extend the map coordinates from where they are using double letters to extend after Z and continuing to count up after 26, then Katerielle will move to XX30, or 4 squares south and 3 squares west going directly diagonal to the corner.))
The western double doors are also scorched and cracked, hinges partially melted. But these doors stand slightly ajar.
This large workshop was badly damaged by the ancient spell battle that laid waste to the mine. Worktables taking up two corners of the room are scorched, and the plaster has been burned off the masonry walls. In the middle of the room, a stone pedestal holds a small brazier in which an eerie green flame dances and crackles. The brazier and its pedestal appear to have been untouched by the forces that destroyed this area.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Katerielle will move up and try to squeeze through the doors into the room to S13. She will look around the room to se if anyone or anything is there, then start looking for exits and secret doors or compartments. She will stay away from the brazier though at least until Rindelk has a chance to examine it.
Behind the brazier of green flame floats a spherical creature measuring roughly four feet in diameter. Four eyestalks protrude from its central mass, two on each side. In the center of the body is a large eye that stares at you.
“Hello,” says a thick, burbling voice inside her head.

(Come on the rest of you... wake up! Lets get this campaign finished up.)
Elila grabs her lollygagging friends by the scruff of their necks and joins Leek and Kat.

Katerielle will look around the cavern to see if anything is here.

The cavern is rather loud and humid from the violent waters below. Functionally, it seems this is a passage and not functional in any other way.
Katerielle will sneak forward to the lower right on the map.

Elila easily notices that the door mechanism will not function. Entering the structure this way will require the door be forced open.
Katerielle looks around the corner and sees no other threats. She also sees the structure has a set of double doors on the west side.
(Moved the coordinates to make it easier)
Elila takes a look at the double doors.
