The last gem clicks into place. All of the stones now pulse with a red light as well as the runes glowing in order: A REWARD - TAKEN - NOT - EARNED.
The air creature becomes a howling wind storm with a funnel in the center. The coins that were on the island have now all be swept up into the swirling gale and become thousands of missiles. As they pummel you unceasingly you suddenly awaken from sleep and the nightmare your dream turned into. Sweat covers your body and your bed is soaked. You are comforted that the experience was just a dream, but, cannot help but feel loss of an opportunity missed.....
(( Let's use this thread for OOC comments only now. We will switch to the Reuniting the Band thread for gaming. ))
(( I would like feedback about how this has progressed from a logistic stand point. Is this platform working? Is this a format you are enjoying? The map interface good? ))
Concur that the mapping software is nice. I like that we can see each other characters and stats in D&D beyond. Helps you can see who might need healing or who's healthy enough to be knocking down doors without having to ask and wait for responses.
I also had some issues with the forums (on mobile at least). Refreshing the page didn't always load the new content. You also can't search the thread if you looking to read some details or descriptions. You end up having to manually page though the content. I foresee that being even bigger problem with a longer campaign. I feel like the lack of push notifications also delays the flow. Having to go in a manually check for posts, or forgetting for a few hours and holding things was an issue at least for me.
An advantage of Telegram, WhatsApp, or FB Messenger is you can send pics. So if you want to draw something out to explain better you have that option, or even a short video. Messenger has the advantage of being able to set nicknames for different chats so we could switch to our character names.
Overall I am enjoying the sessions and would like to keep playing. Maybe we could even arrange the occasional live event? Doesn't have to be an all day event, could just try and set aside an hour or two here and there.
I am against using anything FB. Other options are fine with me. I will ask some others I am in a campaign with about the push notifications or adding photos.
Having a live session would be nice, I agree. A Zoom-type environment with the Owlbear mapping would be fun.
This is an interesting medium for gaming, but I agree with Jeremy. The mapping is fine, but communication back and forth is a lot of work.
I would also suggest a live-type session, even if it was every other work for a couple of hours or even once a month. (Maybe give Fantasy Grounds a shot? I mentioned this to Mat and he said that a one-shot deal might be a good idea.)
Regardless, I will try to dedicate a little more attention to the message threads and provide some better engagement.
There is plenty of room in the internet for another player. But only if, when they get angry, they say “**** you all, I’m walking home,” followed by one lap around the table before they storm out.
The sapphire is currently set in the eagle. It is not able to be removed.
Topaz in the skull then.
Nothing happens
Edited! I saw that! Armored dwarf next then.
The topaz clicks into place. It glows a deep yellow with the backlit runes as well - TAKEN
The air creature is now visibly swirling about itself. The air in the room is moving in a circular fashion is a noticeable breeze.
Try the diamond in the skull.
(( Ignore the man behind the curtain ))
The diamond clicks into place. A bright white glow comes from it and the runes shine as well - NOT
The air creature grows in size and now takes the shape of a whirlwind. Coins are being lifted into the air and swirl about inside the whirlwind.
The runes below the statues are now pulsing individually: A REWARD - TAKEN - NOT - (pause). Then repeats.
Last gem in last socket. Let the fun commence!

Map is good for me.
The message board is ok. Several times I was looking for a new page to start but the next page arrow activating isn’t always apparent to me.

I’m ok with a different communication platform, but I’m not too keen on FB messenger. I deleted it years ago with no desire to reinstall.

What are your thoughts about including a sixth player?
There is plenty of room in the internet for another player. But only if, when they get angry, they say “**** you all, I’m walking home,” followed by one lap around the table before they storm out.
That sounds very specific….
I believe it was Tom Hammond. I was not there. Jeremy and/or Mat was there. It became legend.
I don't have any objections to adding an additional player.
Anyone we know?
He is another player in a campaign I am playing.
