(Rickard heads to his living quarters and comes out a few moments later with a First Aid Kit that appears to have 3 bandages in it. He hands it to Cleo, since she's the Cleric. He also takes out a small rag doll with yarn hair and button eyes. He hands it to Sklin'oth.)
"This is her favorite doll. When you save her... please... she must be so scared..."
(The big, burly Blacksmith breaks down for a moment, but manages to compose himself.)
"Please, follow the tracks and find my daughter!"
(The party assembles outside near the broken gate, make their last minute preparations, and head out, following the tracks.)
DM's note: If you want to do anything else before leaving please go ahead and post it, otherwise the next post will be the start of your journey. Also, can everyone please give me a pre-emptive Perception Check just to keep the game flowing?
Cleo accepts the first aid kit, putting it away in the hopes that it wouldn't have to be used. The worst thing she could imagine was a wounded child. Her companions had already said everything that needed to be said, so the cleric takes a deep breath and heads for the gate.
(The group takes a few more moments to look around, get their gear ready and is on their way. Since the group doesn't really have an experienced Tracker, you all kind of slowly try your best to follow the trail. You all lose it a few times, but manage to get it back without too much of an effort.
Everyone is moving forward at a good pace for several hours, but it's gotten dark. Those in the party without some sort of darkness vision light torches. Suddenly, Cleo stops and puts her hand up.)
"... ..."
(A faint rustling noise, then some squealing is heard as a sense of danger fills the air.)
"Brace yourselves everyone!"
(A Giant Boar and two regular Wild Boars are rushing at you all full speed. Roll for initiative!)
Quorthon moves (if needed) to closest boar and attacks with his Longsword
Attack: 19 Damage: 11
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration on Vokrul
"Vokrul! You kill it, and I will roast it for dinner!"
(Bardic Inspiration: Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die (d6) and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails.
Edit, OOC: I actually made a mistake and didn't use the two-handed mode for the longsword, but the damage is so high Im just not going to worry about it! Also, to DM, did Rickard just not hear my question or was there some kind of answer to it?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quorthon: 16
Sklin'oth: 15
Vokrul: 15
Sturm: 11
Boars: 10
Giant Boar: 8
Cleo: 6
DM's notes: You guys kind of jumped the gun a little with the attack rolls, but I'll work with it for now. Next time, please wait until it's your turn to roll. Also, please specify if you're going for the Giant Boar or one of the regular boars. For now, I'm going to rule that if you didn't specify, you're going after the biggest threat.
Sklin'oth, the forest seems green and normal. You probably wouldn't be terribly concerned with starting a fire.
Also, Quorthon, sorry, Rickard got very excited, there was a lot being said and he jumped to action without answering you. Sorry!
(Quorthon runs up to the charging Giant Boar and slashes it with his Longsword, creating a large gash on it's side! The boar seems to be powering thru it.)
(Sklin'oth breaks out his Light Crossbow and takes a shot at the Boar on the left, but the speedy little pig slips out of the way!)
(Vokrul runs up to the Giant Boar, smashing down his Morningstar onto his skull! Blood spurts out and the Boar squeals in pain, but he's tough!)
Spoiler for Vokrul:
Bardic Inspiration can be saved for your next roll when you don't need it. It's a little hard because we're not playing live, but for now I'm going to make a DM decision and ask you to go ahead and hold on to that Bardic Inspiration die and use it on the next roll that isn't quite as good. Ideally, it'll be used to turn a miss into a hit. So, for example, if you roll a 3, don't waste it, cause you're not going to hit anyways. Understand? :)
(Sturm runs up to the Giant Boar, swings his Greatsword, and manages to cut him in the hindquarter! The Giant Boar is starting to feel all of these attacks!)
(The Giant Boar goes after Vokrul, trying to gore him with his Tusk Attack!)
Attack: 7 Damage: 8
(The Giant Boar's attack hits Vokrul's armor, rattling Vokrul but leaving him unharmed.)
(The other Boars go after Sturm and Cleo!)
Boar 1 on Sturm: Attack: 23 Damage: 6
Boar 2 on Cleo: Attack: 11 Damage: 3
(Sturm's shield holds fast against the Boar's attack, while Cleo manages to dodge out of the way completely.)
(Cleo casts Guiding Bolt and hits it! The damage it causes is tremendous and the Giant Boar screams in pain! The Radiant light burns him badly. In the end, the Giant Boar looks like he's on his last legs, smoldering, with various cuts all over his body.)
(Quorthon, you're up.)
DM's note: The Giant Boar is down to 3 HP. Whoever attacks him next, please remember to give your attack Advantage (In the Combat section of the Dice roller, it asks if you have Advantage, click Yes.)
OOC: I'm pretty sure I got skipped, I should have attacked first! Edit: nevermind about Cleo, I get it now. But I do believe I should go before Sklin this round.
I'm going to attack the Giant Boar with my Longsword:
"Lets follow them...time is of the essence!!"
Sturm
Quorthon follows, trident at the ready.
Quorthon - Dragonborn Bard
Hearing this, Sklin'oth says:
"Then there is no time to lose, we should go as soon as possible, anyone else needs something from here?"
And directing himself to Rickard:
"And any advise on how to calm down your daughter if she is too scared?"
"I say we head off straight away, the sooner we leave the better chance....."
he fades off looking at Rickard
"we will try our best to bring your daughter back, i know what it is to lose a loved one"
(ooc: Sorry iv not been on the last couple of days have been mad busy and I've been traveling, i am back to checking about 2 times a day now :) )
