Mavis steps back (east) about 5 feet, so she's standing directly next to both Evara, Robin, and Token. Raising her shield up in preparation to intercept any potential damage to them. (End turn)
By moving east , Mavis draws an opportunity attack from the creature, but from its seat on the floor it doesn't have the reach to hit.
Another creature, with a head that has been intentionally disfigured to elongate the front of the face out in an approximation of a dragon's snout, lumbers towards Token, maybe attracted by the movement. Ready for it, Token quickly jabs at the thing with his short sword , sinking to the hilt in the thick right thigh and drawing a toneless grunt as it staggers to a halt. Again, the glyphs on the walls all burn a brilliant violet for a split second.
The other figures move slowly towards the nearest person to them. A third burst of light from the glyphs and all four strike at once, simply raising their arms above their heads and drawing them down rapidly, as if using their fists as sledgehammers.
Only the one swinging at Token hits, catching him for 3 points of damage as he's still trying to recover his balance from his own attack.
Evara takes her maul as she says a short prayer to Garl and smashes the mall into the Zombies face and knocks out a tooth. She roars and says “take that in the name of Garl!”
The face of the creature in front of Evara is visibly deformed from the blow, while simultaneously Robin’s bolt slams into the northern glyph.
The glyph appears to be carved directly into the stone of the wall, but when Robin fires into it the bolt sinks to the fletching and the purple light snuffs out. All four of the zombies jerk as if impacted themselves.
As Token is recovering from the zombie’s strike, he catches a glimpse of Robin’s crossbow bolt as it hits the glyph and seems to deactivate. “Good thinkin’, Robin! Looks like th’ glyphs are our key outta this situation!” he says.
Token will then do a powerful leap (rabbit hop) towards the North of Mavis and maneuver around the zombie to the Northwest of Mavis until he is Northwest from that same zombie. He will then stab the western glyph with all his might before pulling out his second shortsword (if not in range, he will move 5 feet to the west and take an opportunity attack to stab the glyph)
(Bonus action to rabbit hop away from zombie to the north of me without triggering opportunity and moving around Northwest zombie, action to attack western glyph, triggering opportunity if not in range to move 5 feet to the west to attack, pull out shortsword 2 with free action, end turn).
Mavis takes another swing at the proned zombie on the ground, chopping her sword at the direction of the zombie's skull. She notices the party's instinctual action to destroy the glyphs, and shouts at the zombies whilst banging her shield with the hilt of her sword to get their attention directed towards her and away from her party. (End turn)
Token's mighty bound takes him past the nearest zombie before it has time to react, then races past the second too quickly for its clumsy swipe to make contact. He jabs at the glyph, surprised at how easily his blade slides into what looks like solid stone, and draws it back quickly, noticing that resistance to the sword's movement increases rapidly as it comes out. The purple glow of the glyph winks out, and again all of the zombies jerk in time with it.
Mavis cleaves a quarter of the right side of the head off of the zombie in front of her and it falls backwards and lies motionless.
Then it slowly rises again.
Mavis, if you want to attract the zombies make a Strength (Intimidation) check to convince them you're the biggest threat (for your character, its the same as rolling Intimidation and adding your Strength modifier to it).
Mavis successfully makes herself the center of attention. The zombie in front of her rises to its feet and all four zombies move in on her, swinging simultaneously. The one from the north-east of Mavis lunges as it is barely able to get in range and misses completely. Mavis's armor absorbs one blow as she blocks another with her shield, but raising it to her left side leaves her right open. Only one zombie is able to connect, doing 4 points of damage.
Movement to the east draws everyone's attention. A hidden door that you hadn't discovered opens and three familiar-looking bony figures emerge. The dragon-headed skeletons you had seen in the throne room come through the passage and move to attack Hana, doing 6 points of damage. When both the zombies and skeletons strike, the two remaining glyphs flash, the color now shifted to cyan.
Evara seeing Robin and Token noticed the glyph and starts crawling over the shimmering treasure to get to the glyph nearest to her. Unfortunately her enthusiastic steps make her falter as she raised her maul to hit the glyph she trips and falls on the coins and completely missed the glyph. She starts trying to get back up and asks Garl for help.
Firing on the run, Robin underestimates his own momentum's contribution to the flight of the bolt and it goes wide.
Evara slips trying to climb over the heap of coins, and discovers with her face that a large number of them are actually wooden discs apparently painted gold, with an unknown percentage being actual coins.
Seeing Mavis surrounded and the skeletons gathering in the room, Token realizes that they have little time before the group is overrun. “I’ll get the East glyph! Y’all focus on th’ Southern one!” Token says and will begin running 15 feet to the East before using another rabbit hop to jump away from the zombies and towards the northern wall before they have the opportunity to strike. He will then move as close as he can to the Eastern glyph and throw his shortsword at it.
(15 ft East, bonus action rabbit hop (10ft East, 5 ft North), 15 ft East, action to throw improvised weapon. End turn).
Mavis almost regrets her decision to attract the attention of every zombie in the room, but seeing her team spring into action to destroy the glyphs restores her resolve. That is, until she turns around to check on the south glyph, only to see Evara face down in a pile of coins. She quickly turns back around to face the zombies whilst yelling "Get it together, Evara!"
Mavis puts two and two together that they're just going to keep getting back up if she strikes them, so she raises her shield and shouts "Come at me!" at the zombies, doing a little tactical maneuver she learned during her watch training (Using Dodge as action). (End turn)
Token makes a desperate throw, and the shortsword flings through the air. It hits the wall fully flat, the blade stretching the length of the glyph, and as it does the symbol dissipates in a puff of glowing motes, looking like dust flying from a beaten carpet. The undead in the room again shudder simultaneously. Turning toward the rest of the group, Token sees the rest of the skeletal guard from the throne room coming down the hallway towards Hana.
Mavis reacts as if she has eyes on the back of her head, dodging all four blows from the zombies around her. Spinning away from the last lunging attempt, her head is pointing toward Hana's position in time to see all seven skeletons attack simultaneously. Hana is able to block one with her shield and parry one with her mace, but the other five all make contact as one cohesive unit. Hana falls to the floor.
Evara feeling embarassed at tripping takes the embarrassment and turns it into utter rage and power as she heaves her maul at the glyph in front of her and screaming while she throws. The impact of the maul makes a sharp crack as it hits the glyph. Evara’s head then looks down as she props herself up with the maul and turns to look up at what everyone else is doing. “Praise Garl.”
Evara's maul smashes into the glyph, sinking several inches into what should be hard stone. The glyph winks out and the undead fall to the ground, like cutting the strings of a marionette.
The room is lit by only the torch on the floor by Mavis's feet. Evara pulls on her maul and it comes out of the wall with a popping sound, leaving behind an indentation big enough to fit her fist.
