Korbiña shakes her head... "That's not what I meant... but anyway..." she grabs her staff and tries to focus her attention on the surroundings... closing her eyes and listening intently...
Korbiña shakes her head... "That's not what I meant... but anyway..." she grabs her staff and tries to focus her attention on the surroundings... closing her eyes and listening intently...
It's strange. Korbiña should hear everything. But she hears nothing. No birds, no insects, no wind, not even the crackling of the fire. There's nothing. But there's clearly a fire burning, and she can feel a breeze on her face. So why? Why is this world suddenly so quiet to her?
Korbiña tries to speak, to find out if she only hears herself through her own existance or through her ears... she grips her staff firmer calling out to the others "I can't hear anything can you hear me?!"
...and alsk tries to cast her "Spectral Hand" that has a clear Verbal component to find out if it actually casts...
The others can hear Korbiña speak. It seems something has her on guard. A ghostly hand appears before her, summoned by her words, which as she speaks them, she can hear clearly. Moments later, the sounds of the swamp return to her, and the same drowzy warmth settles on her again. [Anyone heard from Wile_E?]
Korbiña cringes abd waggels a finger in her ear, her lips curling into a snarl for just a moment, but then she shakes her head "thank you for waking me from the daze... but I believe we should get away from this place as quickly as possible... unfortunately I haven't managed to wake Sceilie, and Quarz also seems to be out of it... I'll try to wake Sceilie again, maybe you could try to get Quartz to consciousness?"
Korbiña leans down to Sceilie, this time shaking her more firmly "Come Sceilie, time to wake up! We need to leave!"
Lelantus walks over and yells in her ear " are you ok?!?"
The heavy-sleeping firbolg springs to attention, hapless searching for the source of the sound that roused him from his slumber. "Huh-whuh...? I don't know who took the last honeycomb."
As he realizes where he is and recalls the predicament in which the crew presently find themselves, he regains his composer and assumes a stoic demeanor. Quartz clears his throat and dusts himself off, running his fi gers theough his hair as he sighs. With a clap of his huge ha ds, he announces, "Right we'll, then, I suppose we'd better not tarry any longer. The less time spent in this place, the better."
Sceilie still does not wake, though her demeanor suggests she is not in any pain or duress. Though, with Quartz awake, that leaves a decision to be made on the party's next course of action. <Or, at least, it would be if the party didn't suddenly hearing the soft dulcet notes of a singing maiden in the air.>
Lelantus looks at the amber in disgust and then licks it.
Thaux cocks his head in confusion "Rock not worthy prey, Rock not food. Why eat rock?"
Lelantus looks at thaux and says rock is cool. lelantus swallows the amber.
Korbiña groans as she sees Lelantus swallow the gem.
"Well it has to come out again some time, Kelantus, so you better search your shit from now on to find it again"
She laughs.
Then looks at the fire... puts some more wood on it... sniffs the smell, lights a torch to see if there's any difference to the feeling in her head...
"something is afoot hereabouts... better pack up your things"
Korbiña wakes Sceilie... as gentlr yet firmly as possible.
"We have to get away from here, Sceilie."
But she does not stir. Her sleep is deep, uninterrupted. Such was a nice sleep, too.
Thaux looks among the trees as he lets out a low rumbling roar. "Where. prey. hide?"
(Ready action with wooden spear)
Lelantus stands in front of thaux and takes a defensive position with his daggers
Korbiña shakes her head... "That's not what I meant... but anyway..." she grabs her staff and tries to focus her attention on the surroundings... closing her eyes and listening intently...
