A faint pink whisp emanates around the vial. Whatever it is, judging by its lack of potency, it appears that its poisonous quality is a secondary effect. Beyond that, Quartz cannot determine its purpose.
As he conce teates on the mysterious substance, Quartz considers carefully, "Hmm. Well, I dont recognize any of the telltale marks of a poison, so I'd say its safe to ingest, but without knowing what it does, 'safe' might be the wrong word."
The owl he summoned follows along as they start to venture into tbe bush, following the trail (he sticks around for the remainder of an hour, if it hasn't yet elapsed).
The party doesn't have to travel for long. In the depths of the mist, they hear a vicious barking, too deep for any normal hyena. Quartz sees the shape first. It's canine form stands on its hind legs. Vertically, it's taller than him. Its neck seems stretched, as if grotesquely wrung from its shoulders and its jaw appears to hang loose from its mouth. Something small appears to dangle from its face. The mist only lets him see shadows, but it's enough to tell him this beast -- no, this monster is fighting someone.
It also appears to be cursing in a language vaguely familiar to him.
Thaux looks up as he turns his head at the battle ensuing and draws out both of his shortswords, looks back and says "I scout battle, you keep close by." as he runs off towards the sound. (I also may want to climb a nearby tree, in hopes that I can get the drop on the creature and get advantage.)
As the party draws nearer, the mist clears somewhat, revealing a monstrous creature. Its body stands 11 feet tall, its front claws twisted into makeshift hands. Its neck is bare, devoid of fur. Its jaw appears to be hanging loose from its skull and its fangs jut outward like some abhorrent serpent. Blood drips from its face and one eye remains closed. The other bulges, bloodshot and yellow. It's "bark" is clearer now. It's speaking, if you could call it speaking, in a booming growl as it's "hand" scratches furiously at the side of its face. Whatever it is, it sounds furious.
Seeing an opportunity to gain some height, Thaux effortlessly climbs a nearby mangrove, coming to rest on a stable bough around 12 ft. high. From his vantage point, he catches sight of what the abominable monstrosity is fighting: a halfling, trying desperately to hide in the dense foliage.
Thaux prepares his blades down by his side as he leaps off of the branch that he was perching on. As he descends he points his shortswords at the creature's head and let's out a fearsome roar. (I assume I roll with advantage for my attack.)

The mighty hunter lands on the monster's shoulder, sinking both blades deep into the bastard's flesh. The creature howls with pain, shouting curses in an unknown language.

Quartz agrees, following the tracks seems the proper course of action.
Eyeing the vial, he asks, "May I see that for a moment? I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to posions."
Quartz will cast detect poison and disease
(I believe this works without needing to open the vial.)

[It hasn't elapsed.]

Id like to try to dive for my dagger ( the one that's not in his head)

[That would be... an acrobatics roll for Lelantus.]
So for attack (Assuming I have advantage) I got a 8 and a 19
[Sure. Roll to hit for both. Then damage.]
[Monstrous entity hp: 31/45]
You have advantage, yes. But you still need to roll to hit.
For the other shortsword right? because if so I got a 9 and a 9
and for damage that is a 15
[Okay, now you're good]
[And the other?]
(Oh yeah sorry kinda preoccupied at the moment but i got a 7 )
