XANTH will note that the trail of the missing adventuring party skirts around the traps and leads to the western wooden door. He will also note that only three sets of tracks leave from this door.
(Anybody else claim one of the pretty rocks? Again, a Perception check with Advantage and a 1d4 Guidance can be rolled to potentially learn more about the fountain.)
Glynt will move to the wall opposite the door that someone never returned from and swap back from the sword to the bow and while the others check out the fountain he will stand ready to react if anyone comes out the door. (Location Updated on Map)
I'm all good for cutting Meepo in and will accept any of the treasure found on behalf of The Lady and her continued works. Moving with Glynt and helping to look around, percep 11+4=15
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(@Ragdor - With Help from Glynt, you have Advantage on your roll. Meaning you can take two rolls 1d20 rolls taking the higher roll. In addition, Meepo provides you guidance for and additional 1d4 on top of your +4 bonus.)
(You can use the die above in the thread. 18 This is the advantage roll. And then Guidance 2)
(You can't edit a post when you use the die above. So, I am going to post, see the results, and then generate another post.)
(I should have said you shouldn't edit the post if there is a die roll in it, as the message board will give you a warning banner if you do.)
(5e definitely has it differences. But so far, I like it much better than any other earlier D&D systems. And if you pardon me on this, I am going to use the roll above for Ragdor.)
RAGDOR notices a suspicious metallic tubes in the carved dragon’s mouth, as well as a small, rusted iron canister, like it might hold a gas. This looks very different from the previous fountain. He will also notice a mostly worn-away inscription in Draconic.
(What does the party do next? You also have the door to the west.)
(BTW-If there are not die rolls in the post, you can edit it as often as you need to. I needed to.)
PORTIA will determine that this fountain is likely a trap. And since the previous fountain was activated by calling out the Draconic inscription, calling out this Draconic inscription may set off the trap.
Glynt will explain to Meepo "It might be best if you don't read the inscription." and then turn to Portia and ask "Do you think we should have a crack at trying to disable it or just leave it be and move on?"
"Meepo don't read this one. It does look like a trap and we don't want to set it off. I suspect it was a trap for those who were greedy after determining what the last fountain did" She then goes to stand behind Xanth for him to open a door.

"MEEPO willz notz readez the fountainez." the little guys says. And then goes to work spiking shut the lid to the trap so that it is a solid surface before positioning to open the door.
XANTH opens the door. An oppressive smell suffuses the air, rising from chewed carcasses of cave rats, smaller vermin, and a few humanoid-looking creatures. The bodies lie upon a floor of filth, old bones, hair, and fur that combine to make a particularly large and vile nest.
MEEPO will say, "Gutash! Goblinz haz fearez of great Mama Rat. Thatez whize weez do notz goez thiz waze. Goez intooz Underzdarkz instead."
You see trying miserably to hide its large bloated body in the filthy nest a Giant Rat.....well it is a Huge Rat, about the size of RAGDOR.

Survival 24 with guidance
Ragdar and Meepo have the best perception
@Glynt " You can have the pretty rock. And yes, Meeps should get a cut. Ragdar can you make anything of that fountain?"
XANTH will note that the trail of the missing adventuring party skirts around the traps and leads to the western wooden door. He will also note that only three sets of tracks leave from this door.

Portia will put a claim to the amethyst. And will gladly accept anything additional offered to her
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)

Lady Portia could this be some sort of gas trap - points to the tubes in the dragon's mouth, Meepo can you make out what this says?
Portia will check the dragons mouth for any sign of it being a trap. 13+3 guidance.

"Seem like there could be something behind this door."
Perception 12+4=16
It is difficult to get to the door around the narrow edges of the pit in it open position. But it is possible.
XANTH smells the stench of rotten meat coming from the other side of the western door. The big barbarian does not perceive any traps on the door.
Glynt retrains his bow on the door and keeps a protective eye on Xanth.

Xanth looks back at the others to make sure there ready. Then opens the door.
