Man callim is in a stiiiiicky spot. I’ll wait to post until everyone else in initiative order just because I’m not sure what to do in such a tight place.
"With a simple nod to Aria, Dorn will dash through his companions and circle around the ghoul ..."
@OTheophylus, this movement will take 30' and Dorn has 30' of movement. You will not need to dash in order to move as proposed, and still have an action to declare if you would like.
Also, please let me know what Dorn would like Aria to do ...

thanks, are you calculating diagonal movements just as 5ft?
also sorry, I edited the original post to clarify his intentions for aria. He’s giving the suggestion to engage in combat.
I figured out how to create statblocks and avatars for our trusty sidekick.
(Now Aria won't have a beard when I place her token on the battlemap!)
A new round begins.
Starting this round, I'd like everyone to start using the die roller built into their character sheets.
The forum die roller has been wonky/unreliable enough that I am going to stop using it for this game.
Also ... If the tendril-whipping, chest-bursting, fungus-parasites were any clue ... John Carpenter's The Thing, is one of my favorite movies.
Volneer, my friend. I believe you know what comes next. Be like MacReady ...
Yeah, lets stick to this new way of rolling 😎
A 20!!! Let's go!!!
I see that crit damage was rolled, did the die roller on the sheet know to roll the damage as a crit or did you have to select that somehow?
It rolled it automatically.
"Quick question, doesn't a rapier do piercing damage"
Yes, that is correct.
My mistake
No worries. I don't mind typos and little errors like that.
If someone posts something incorrect, I apply some handwavium and we move on with life. :)
The dice not working as advertised was much more frustrating, but I think we have that one sorted.

[Kneecap] "...moves to the square to the right of the fungus"
It is not possible to move through squares if they are occupied by a hostile creature.
(there are a couple of exceptions ... but none of them are applicable right now)
I’m assuming no overrun or tumble?
Your right!
I've been playing that wrong. Always counted it as difficult terrain, but never realized this part of it.
In contrast, you can move through a hostile creature's space only if the creature is at least two sizes larger or smaller than you.
Sorry about that! Kneecap will then move up to in front of the ghoul then, but still attack the fungus.
There are options (via feats, spells, class abilities, etc) that one could use.
Under the baseline rules, without access to something more specific, shoving a creature can also be a good way to involuntarily move them.
"[Volneer] then stumbles forward five feet."
@RRV, Can you please clarify which square you would like to end up in?
Volneer will actually go five feet up, so behind and above kneecap.
[A paper drops out of a flash of light and drifts to the ground at your feet] -(extended sig)-
Will do. New map coming shortly.

Yes, we are using the variant 'playing on a grid' described on pg 192 of the PHB.
This edition scrapped the 5-10-5 rule from previous editions (although retained it as an optional rule in the DMG).
