Dedear thanks Valar, then addresses Draíocht. “I’m not sure about terrain. Generally the upper parts of a mine are better kept as the lower points have been newly unearthed and are a work in progress. Additionally, the lower we get the closer we are to the Underdark. So expect less safety and more weirdness as we go down.”

So expect less safety and more weirdness as we go down.”
Dedear follows along behind and you all descend further into the mine. The path down the hole leads deeper downwards, and soon after you start to descend you see a trap set up by the hobgoblins to stop people coming up the shaft into their common room: a bunch of large rocks rigged up to drop down on anyone coming up.
When you get to the bottom of the path, you find a dead end of a rock wall. Dedear looks at the wall and says, “There’s something wrong with this rock, not natural at all.”
As Thelanis looks at the wall, she notices straight cracks that, when pushed, reveals a secret door. As you push open the door, it opens up into a very wide shaft that leads from high above to down below. You see at the top of the shaft a contraption that looks like a platform on a rope and pulley system. There are multiple exits coming off the shaft at different point, there's one on the other side of the shaft above, as well as two exits on either side below you. Far below the shaft ends seems to open out into a very large dark space. Wrorak g'Ruek
Dedear speaks, "I know they're holding the others in that tunnel up above, the call the prison The Pit. It's just a dirty little cave. But it is guarded by a large bugbear called Chop and his crew." He points down below, "And the boss of the hobgoblin's is down there, Wrorak g'Ruek. Although going either up or down is going to be hard in this sheer mine shaft. I think they usually use the platform up there." He points at the rope and pulley system above you.
To the party, Thelanis says, "I'd say we go up to rescue the prisoners first, as maybe we don't need to kill every last goblinoid around. Killing the boss would endear us to the locals in the village but is a much bigger risk."
She looks to see if there is a way to lower the platform.

Amiz investigates the platform and pulleys to see if there is some mechanism to call down the lift as he thinks there must be a way since Wrorak is below them somewhere.
Sorry i didn't explain that very well. The platform is a little ways above your heads. If you want to get to it, you'll need to climb up the sheer wall of the shaft.
@drumdigby: Is there any way to get a DC on climbing up to the platform?
"We can tie a rope to someone who climbs up so we can catch them if they fall, or I can use my powers to get up there, but that drains me more than I'd prefer."

Amiz climbs up to the top of the shaft with ease.
Are you trying to be stealthy Amiz? Or are you just rushing forward's fearless as usual?
No stealth as usual for Amiz.
Here's a map of what you've uncovered so far. You are currently at the secret door in area 7 and Amiz is climbing up to the platform above.
