DM: I hope you don't mind if I fast-forward the exploration of this bit, since it's a couple of long and empty hallways. No great decision making to be had here. I'm going to take everyones (including Pisgahs, considering the perception roll) passive perception, since it's more appropriate for covering this distance.
As you explore these long hallways, they are still all very clean and free of dust, even though they're no longer lit by floating candles. Two passages end in collapsed sections, heavy rubble barring your way. The last and southmost passage leads to a dead-end. Pisgah, who has been going in front at some distance, manages just in time to notice a faint sheen in the air where he was about to step just now.
The sheen - an almost transparent mass of jelly - seems to be offended by Pisgahs reluctance to step into it and starts advancing towards you.
Jaya also catches a glimpse of the moving ooze just in time to be ready. Everyone else is surprised. Jaya and Canti get their marching order initiative bonus as normal.
Initiative: 1. All of you: surprised, except Pisgah and Jaya <YOUR TURN 2. Gelatinous cube
OOC: taking off 1 damage from sword from ooze damage to sword. Whoops, forgot i updated the sword on my sheet so the rolls handle this, updated above damage to be accurate.
Instead of attacking, the gelatinous cube moves gurglingly towards Pisgah and Jaya, attempting to subsume them into itself. It does this while being sliced open by them.
Jaya and Pisgah: DC 12 Dex Save or take 11 acid damage and be engulfed in the gelatinous cube. An engulfed creature can't breathe, is restrained, and takes 6d6 acid damage at the start of each of the cube's turns. When the cube moves, an engulfed creature moves with it. An engulfed creature can try to escape by taking an action to make a DC 12 Strength check. On a success, the creature escapes and enters a space of its choice within 5 feet of the cube.
On a successful save, you can choose to be pushed 5 feet back or to the side of the cube. A creature that chooses not to be pushed suffers the consequences of a failed saving throw.
Image shows the situation before Jaya and Pisgah have resolved their saving throws.
Initiative: 1. All of you <YOUR TURN 2. Gelatinous cube, wounded
The kenku fizzles back into opacity with a shot of fire flying from his talon. He does a decent job of aiming between the frontliners, too, though he almost wishes he'd opted to remain transparent.
OOC: DM, IF you think Pisgah would have the presence of mind to see where Jaya went after he made his DEX saving throw then I would like to go to the other side of the ooze to set up flanking but if 11 pts acid damage would make that seem unlikely them move me where it makes sense.
(I'm fine with it! Unless the rules say so, I don't like imposing arbitrary limits like that. Feel free to roleplay the decisions as you see fit for the character.)
With an incredible show from Jaya, the gelatinous cube is getting slowly but surely slashed apart, it's mass wobbling and separating into neatly cut sliced, with some burn damage and bullets still lodged inside. Finally, it loses coherence and stops moving.
Rico will move up and start cleaning any remaining corrosive goo off of Pisgah using Prestidigitation. While doing so, she'll take a quick look to see if there is anything bronze that gelatinous cube had picked up while cleaning.
OOC: I don't remember if Rico has already bandaged Pisgah's wounds since the last rest or not. Does anyone else remember?

[OoC: You tried with Nikk, but he refused. Then I think we moved on. So no, prolly not.]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC in that case...
After she finishes cleaning the chemical burns, she'll apply ointment and bandages to Pisgah's wounds. This heals 14 HP
OOC2: I've added a section on Rico's character sheet to keep track of who she's bandaged. I'll need to clear it manually whenever we take a rest. But since it's her primary way to heal, it's worth keeping track of.

Pretty sure you bandaged me after the manticores, so you can add me to your list until next rest.

"Well, rinse and repeat I guess. Give me about 15 to 20 feet and let's slip down the hall to take a look down the southern passage."

OOC: Well crud! I knew I should have specified that I pulled my shield around....
Pisgah cries out "Careful! It looks like there is another ooze here!" as he strikes down with the pike he has been carrying since leaving the armory.
Attack 1: 8 to hit ; damage 11
Attack 2: 18 to hit ; 8 damage
Jaya will move up next to Pisgah and attack the cube.
Longsword attack: 20, damage: 11
Longsword attack: 26, damage: 7
OOC: taking off 1 damage from sword from ooze damage to sword.Whoops, forgot i updated the sword on my sheet so the rolls handle this, updated above damage to be accurate. If the cube attacks me, and if it misses, I will use my reaction to Riposte, if not, ignore.

"Damn it. All," comes Durnan's voice, angrily.
The kenku fizzles back into opacity with a shot of fire flying from his talon. He does a decent job of aiming between the frontliners, too, though he almost wishes he'd opted to remain transparent.
[Firebolt to hit: 17, Damage: 16]
Dexterity Save: 23 (natural 20, whew)
Rico will try shooting the cube a couple of times, being careful to shoot away from anyone it has engulfed.
Attack 19 damage 14
Attack 12 damage 11
OOC: I'm guessing that slow gelatinous cubes are easy to hit.
Pisgah DEX save of 7
Marked off damage.
OOC: I am getting some crap rolls...
OOC: Looks like Rico will be busy healing after this...
Pisgah will try to force his way out of the cube.
STR roll of 13

I’ll attack, then action surge and attack more!
Longsword attack: 23, damage 10.
Longsword attack: 23, damage 9.
Longsword attack: 16, damage 11.
Longsword attack: 26, damage 12.
I’ll then back up 10 feet, OK with opportunity attack. If he attacks and misses me:
Longsword Riposte: 28 (nat 20), damage 35

Initiative Over
You each get 90 XP from defeating the ooze.

OOC: Pisgah has a healer's kit. If you heal me, we can use another charge of my kit.
"Oh, thanks Rico, getting that acid off really feels better. When the say 'feel the burn', I don't think they mean this."
