Bilyur's eyes scan the room quickly, and his face twists into a combination of anger and disgust. You see his fists clench, his eyes close, and he kneels on the ground, meditating. He stays there for several minutes, unmoving, before he opens his eyes and says, "Luthar, receive her spirit, and in the name of the realm of light, help me destroy those who brought her here." He then makes that strange sign again, touching his shoulders with his thumbs, and glares at the writing on the wall.
"Well... no need to worry about the druid I suppose." says Eggo Lass. She looks around for any sort of sheet or something she could drape over the skeleton, hoping it might gain favor with the goast. "Shall we go through the portal?" she asks.
Bilyur grunts. "The sooner we can take on this blasted Blood Archivist the better, I suppose. Should we at least check the door down the hallway for anything important? I'm in need of a new sword..."
You head down to the western door and open it to find a bedroom. Everything is in soft shades of purple, from the large 4-poster bed to the shelves along the walls, covered in assorted trinkets, from a music box painted with dainty eladrin dancers, to a raggedy stuffed bear. The quilt on the bed is stitched with nighttime patterns like the stars and moon, which matches the starlight that pours through the window on the southern wall, your first glimpse at the outside world since entering the dungeon complex. Looking out at the mountainous wasteland around, it becomes much more apparent how alone Evaltrini spent her life and final days. Perhaps the Blood Archivist was the first person she had heard from in years, and the last.
"Night." remarks Eggo Lass. "If we want to take a rest it's either here or after we beat the knight. I'm not that fond of sticking around for a goast though." She takes a quick glance around though for any weapons, possibly some herbs of legend.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hugh walks around the room, looking for things of interest. Finding the music box, he picks it up and looks for a key, a top to open and any other signs there may be a way to see the inside of it.
Investigation 14
That roll may get another +2 if it involves Thieves' Tools.
"I'm all for giving our opponent as little time as possible to prepare for us. Are we ready?"
"Very well. Let's head on!" says Eggo Lass, smiling in delight of the hunt.
[[ @Rhino, do you know the source for level-up doing same as a long rest? Just wondering since in a campaign a while back we actually were unsure on how levelling up mid-day worked. DM couldn't find anything about it. So having a place to cite would be useful for my future knowledge. ]]
(OoC: Getting a long rest as a result of a level up is a houserule. Leveling up in the middle of the day just means you don't refresh the resources you already expended.)
Sly nods. "Let's see what the next level of this menagerie has in store." She flips to a new page in her book. Evaltrinis dungeon had certainly been interesting, but the wizard wasn't able to feel positive about the mostly blank library. A cruel joke, as far as the tiefling was concerned.
Eggo Lass finds no weapons or the fabled herb. In fact, the only plant in the entire room is a tiny bluebell in a painted pot. You remember in some remote parts and tribes of Tyraa that bluebells hold some sort of symbolism but the whole meaning escapes you. Hugh manages to pry open the music box to get a better look at its inner workings; it's just a regular music box but an exquisitely crafted one, it would easily fetch quite a few gold pieces at a pawn shop or market.
[I'm happy to allow levelling up as a long rest as since the entire campaign takes place in dungeons there aren't many safe spots to rest for a full 8 hours. I haven't made the map for the next dungeon and I'm gonna be busy for the next 8 hours (It's 7:30 in my timezone so I've only just got up for the start of the workday) but once I get home I'll make the map and post the first room description and intro for Dungeon 3 :) ]
Looking forward to it. Gonna mull over some choices for the lv2 upgrade. Thinking Agonizing Blast and Devil's Sight for the invocations. (Time to ditch the crossbow. And 120ft devil sight pairs nicely with 120ft darkvision. Light levels? What are those? I see fine.
Mulling over the spell. Hellish Rebuke gives damage via reaction. Hex adds damage on top, but is concentration so dancing lights breaks it. Will have to look at other ones.

BTW I was wondering about this. With the entire campaign taking place in the dungeons, I was wondering if there will be any shopping/tavern type scenes. I don't know, but it seems there should be a way to buy/sell/repair stuff somehow because this -1 on my sword is getting annoying.
Yep they’ll definitely be areas in dungeons where you can find all the loot you’ll need, along with travelling salesmen going through the complex and large ‘safe’ dungeons where adventurers can gather in a little community type set up with vendors and stuff. They won’t be common, though you’ll definitely find a new and better weapon than your sword quickly.
Eggo Lass is ready to head through the portal. "Like Hugh said, the less time this crimson knight has to prepare the better."
[[ Finished her level up. Went with hellish rebuke as the new one. Not sure how effective fire will be against a crimson knight but at least it gives her reaction damage. Well... until lv3 where the entire spell list is getting changed. :P
@Rhino, I honestly forgot Bilyur's shortsword got damaged. Don't even remember how that happened. But definitely feel free to ask for a dagger from Eggo Lass if you want. (Think it works out to the same average damage anyways though since you get back a +1 from DEX but shift from d6 to d4.)
Everyone's who's ready heads through the Shadow Weave into the third dungeon, The Den of The Red Knight (and levels up).
The Den of The Red Knight Lore:
Long ago the King of Tyraa had a select group of knights that served as his elite guard; Jelus the Green, Tamwa of Sapphire, Duness of Purple, Paeded the Yellow and Arganth the Red. When the Blood Archivist first stole the Rod of Lordly Might and murdered the king, it was Arganth the Red that had been on watch over the king's quarters that night and allowed the Archivist to pass, turning a blind eye to the evil that was about to take root over all of Tyraa. When this treachery was discovered, Arganth was executed by beheading for his treason, though when the axe had fell and crimson blood gushed from Arganth's severed head, the body simply stood itself up, picked up his head and escaped into the capital city below. The undead knight's location did not remain a mystery for long however, as his den deep within the sewers of Tyraa was soon discovered by the early explorers of the 100 Dungeons, where they would meet a sticky end by the blade of Arganth the Undying.
Soon a cult sprung up venerating Arganth, praisng this evil being as the hero that freed Tyraa from oppression, and a rite of passage for new cult members was to pass the previous two dungeons and reach the Red Knight's Den as a sign of strength and integrity. Therefore the Den of The Red Knight is famed for the cult that operates entirely beneath the streets of Tyraa's greatest cities, but never leaves the confines of the den
Those who went through the portal come out in a dark and dingy room in the sewers. The walls are made of thick grey stone and filthy water gushes from cracks, and some parts of the room are graffitied with bizarre and unexplainable symbols in red paint, possibly even blood. The room is 25 feet wide and 35 feet long, with doors to the north and south. If you listen closely you can hear the hubble and bubble of Tyraan city life above you, unaware to the evil trapped just below them.
If she sees nothing she'll then cast dancing lights, placing two orbs in the room and one each down the tunnels., to give sight to those with lesser vision.
You find no threats or creatures in the room, and light both tunnels on either side of the room with Dancing Lights along with illuminating the rest of the room.
Bilyur's eyes scan the room quickly, and his face twists into a combination of anger and disgust. You see his fists clench, his eyes close, and he kneels on the ground, meditating.
