The armored paladin, seeing that the shadows have tricked him and the weasel is actually a person, now in danger, will first make sure its not a trap, then seeing the man getting attacked, will spring into action. (As he is slowed due to exhaustion), he will throw two javelins at the Roper.
as he struggles he sees the person he stole the rations from trying to help him “hey if you can keep me from dieing I might give you your rations back”
(Do I need to roll a strength check to get ungrappled) “oh huh” apon seeing the man he stole food from show him kindness he realized that maybe these people are a group he might wanna stick around with
edit:(I rolled strength I have a plus 5 and I got a ten so 15 to get out of grapple)
Tenebril comes chasing after the weasel man or whatever he is and seeing the new person get immediately grappled by a tentacled creature starts flying as fast as he can to get a better shot on the creature.
Init: 21
Movement: Tene will try to get to a position where he can angle the Eldritch blast to knock it closer to the group but further away from the new person. If he can't, he won't activate repelling blast.
"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
The creature takes three hits fromthe warloxk, dragging the grappled human 30ft back into the depths of the cavern.
<I think thats the best i can do. It has a 60ft reach and it's up near the top. I can move it to the bottom but its not possible to get behind it. We can work it out more if you want. In no case csn you koce it away from the human its holding unkess you separate them first. You can attack the tentacle, but hecause you have so much range for the spell, the option is yours>
A tentacle drops down from the ceiling, grabing the blurple energy-blasting fairy. Another follows shortly behind 13

I had to look up the 2024 surprise rules.
If you’re surprised, you can’t move or take an action on your first turn of the combat, and you can’t take a reaction until that turn ends. You are surprised. Escape requires an action. Grapple occurs on a hit

The fairy quickly dodges both attacks just in time to keep from getting captured by their tentacles.
"Stay away from the tentacles if you can", yells the fairy, "unless you want to end up stuck like that guy".
(I wasn't sure how long the tentacles were and if I could move the creature away from the mouth of the creature to keep the guy from getting but this round. I'll have Tess target the tentacles to see if that helps)
As the creature drags its human victim across the stone shelf, you notice something odd: the moss ends abruptly, like a line drawn in fear. The stone beyond is bare—and warm.
The cave is wrong.
The stone beneath your boots pulses faintly, like a heartbeat you weren’t meant to feel. The air tastes of copper and rot. Every sound—your breath, your footsteps—vanishes into a silence that feels intentional.
Then the ground shudders. A low, grinding moan rolls through the cavern, and the floor begins to bulge, as if something beneath is pushing upward.
With a deafening crack, the earth splits open. A massive, glistening form surges forth—no eyes, no face, just a circular maw ringed with jagged plates and twitching tendrils that lash out blindly.
The cave was never empty. It was waiting.
The Maw has awakened.
The stone beneath the fighter pulses once—twice—then splits open like a wound. A ring of jagged teeth erupts upward, followed by a gaping, circular maw lined with acidic tendrils. The roper recoils, hissing. The Maw doesn’t care. It’s already rising.

<I'll try to get a map up. Anyone with initiative above 15 can post action now. We use group initiative. >
The huge man smiles, a genuine friendly smile. "I'm sure you need the "food" more than I my friend, we will assist you."

As the human watched this he finally felt fear and started struggling even harder
Actually, that reminds me, does anybody have a light source because we got a human here? And it's otherwise gonna be dark
Tenebril can make a light source if needed BUT he has "Devil's Sight" out to 120ft so I don't think he needs it. Does anyone else have dark vision?
(Oh mental image goes completely black oh no I’m in even more trouble)
