(All players near Sparhawk in the ball get +3 to their save here: (IF Sparhawk can use his athletics skill, he rolled a nat 20. If dex only for save: he rolled a 8 and takes 26 damage.)
Saves aren't skill checks. Totally different mechanics.
<Announcement: Legion4 has left the game and so I am converting the combat on that half of the party to cinematic to close it. So, how does Cha!jil heroically finish off the encounter? And, do they poke around the goblin camp afterward or head straight for wherever they're going? Cha!jil would be able to deduce the direction of the ball's flightpath and head toward the village, or possibly, knowing the plan, intend to regroup with the others at Vorn (statue).>
(I'm wondering if Cha!jil or Tess can trick the leader into a better trade. The captain won't do this, but if one of you can be creative, we might gain the Vorn after all....ideas?....lets head that way and my guy will take a back seat and see you either of you can did up a creative solution.....he isn't going to "take" the amulet from her)
Tricking should be possible- maybe even ideal- I am unsure what will happen to the tribes that now consider the area near Vorn uncontested, in his absence. But if you give Grabstab something very powerful, you can assume the vegepygmies and the grungs will suffer from tbe power imbalance. So, yeah, tricking her is something. It's also worth pointing out that you met her adult children, who are probably as eager as an royal successor waiting in the wings to see the current ruker abdicate. So that's a route available, as well.
(Hum I wonder if the daughter would take Sparhawks greatsword for the amulet, or other ideas, but I'll need Tess or Cha!jil to suggest it. I've recruited a few additional players, so we'll see who shows up.)
(Hum I wonder if the daughter would take Sparhawks greatsword for the amulet...)
<So, you won't kill her and steal her thing, but you'll pay her daughter to kill her with some deadly bugs or whatever. Classic move from Jango Fett's playbook>
<OOC: No, Sparhawk won't do that. normally...we would need another party member to be creative with a solution, I think Cha!il may have a shot, or Tess. Sparhawks goal was to end the conflict before the party was killed or the entire tribe was killed. We now know where the statue is and who has the amulet, so at least we have something for Wakanga. But, if anyone has a workaround to convince the tribal leader to give up the amulet, ("I") am all for it. ???Can we have Gellakress's magic item, a cloak of protection?...I wonder if the leader would be interested in that?. Now, on the other hand, if Gellakress is dead, the paladin may have a different angle, but it ain't pretty).
Sparhawk and Tess (Unless Tesservett disagrees) will head toward the last known location of the original village, to find Cha!jil and Gellakress. (1/2 mile each group headed toward each other so 1/4 mile each, maybe 2 minutes). Once they find each other, they can decide on next steps. He will call out a few times to find their location. (Most of the group is also injured and we have not healed yet). (Are we assuming Gellakress was killed by the ants and goblins?)
<I don't have a definitive answer on Gell's fate. I don't want it to close any avenues if the goblins got them, but if it opens doors, great. Many of the goblins simply fled into the jungle, so the area isn't necessarily safe to hang around. For this reason, its possible that Gell also went missing without confirmation of their death, but with that as a distinct possibility. Fridging an NPC is one thing, but I prefer not to fridge a PC. If I had some epic way for them to go out, that would be better. so, maybe saving that for another time.>
Sparhawk and Tess, headed toward the village, and Cha!jil, following the trajectory of the catapult meet up roughly midway between the village's former location by the river and its new location, yet to be unpacked.
<space provided if you want to discuss anything before heading on. I'm not 100% sure if the group is going to Vorn to confront Grabstab or just moving on, presumably South to the mountains.>
Sparhawk catches Cha!jil up on what happened after they separated, including what he told the Queen and her reaction.
”I figured if the combat continued, we would have killed the entire tribe, not our goal, not our mission."
”They way I see it, we have a few options. Rest and heal (short rest), head back to Varn and see if we can Divine any other options, I do have the journal. Third, see if we can trade something with the Queen, but I would leave that to you both, or finally, head on to the mountains.”
" I'm inclined to head for the mountains, Biting Ants are a headache to deal with and they don't learn lessons well. I think we'd be better off heading up and maybe call back here later in the hope that theres a new queen by then.", Cha!jil said plainly.
(During our camping, Sparhawk will pray to Marduk and Aphrael, He will pray for Gells safety. He asks his god and goddess for any additional help or guidance and to protect the party.)
The huge man tries and loves the curry. "Cha!jil, this may be the best meal in the field I have had in quite some time." Sparhawk grabs a second helping. "Long ago, I had a friend who was an amazing cook. I remember she had this huge cooking spoon she used. the thing could even be a weapon if needed."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Cha!jil notices some Wukka Nuts along the way and recognizes them.at once.
These fist-sized nuts grow on wukka trees, which are popular haunts for jaculi, su-monsters, and zorbos. A wukka nut rattles when shaken, causing its shell to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. This magical light fades after 1 minute, but shaking the nut again causes the light to reappear. If the shell of the nut is cracked open, it loses its magic.
(You can collect 2d6 of them if you choose. Just roll it to see what you get.)
(OOC: Sorry guys, Sparhawk seems not well suited for some of these encounters, he keeps failing the objectives to gain npc help, I'm disheartened)

Cha!jil was kneedeep in eviscerated Batari and smashed ants, as she stood there panting she regarded the few Batari left nearby, " Are we done?"
She began stalking in the direction the village had flown.....
Survival- 17
Cha!jil finds the point where the tree that catapulted the village was held down. The path it must have flown is evident and easy enough to follow.
Cha!jil starts the short trek through the jungle.
<Tess is nearby, not much chance of Cha! Getting there in time to strike this deal.>

The captain looks at the two.
"Thoughts?"
" I'm inclined to head for the mountains, Biting Ants are a headache to deal with and they don't learn lessons well. I think we'd be better off heading up and maybe call back here later in the hope that theres a new queen by then.", Cha!jil said plainly.
“I agree Cha!jil. If we return and the situation has changed, we may have other options.”
The half-orc looks at Tess, “Tess?”
(Likely we take a short rest to regain some hp, then move on.)
It's several days journey, long rest is built in.
<see if Tess wants to do anything, or move on>
(During our camping, Sparhawk will pray to Marduk and Aphrael, He will pray for Gells safety. He asks his god and goddess for any additional help or guidance and to protect the party.)
Cha!jil rested up at camp after cooking for her companions preparing a jungle curry of green ants, lemon myrtle and finger limes.
She watched Sparhawk pray to his strange gods and poured a little fermented aspen juice out on the soil for her own god.
