Brungir strikes down the traitorous goblin with his shocking grasp before Marcus hurls an axe at the final gobbo and slices its body in half! Suddenly, Marcus' wounds begin to heal and he regains 4 HP.
Emerging from behind the bushes with only a small wound remaining where the arrow had impacted, but hoping nobody takes too much notice of it, Marcus tucks his axe back into his belt. "Lucky there were just two of them. Maybe we make another attempt at a stealthy approach if we're taking the 'violence' route?" He begins to move through the entrance of the cave, trying to avoid stepping in the water, but finds the gravel alongside it to be noisier than expected (stealth 8 because I can't roll above a 4 for sneaking). He keeps an ear out for any sounds as he moves through the tunnel (19 perception).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Muttering a quick curse after the goblin falls, Brungir shakes his hand as the last bits of electricity fizzle out. Quickly checking the rune he nods to himself and moves to ready his crossbow once more. "Well that settles my thoughts on ever trustin a stinkin goblin again. Or at the very least next time we hogtie em so much they can't move."
He moves to follow behind Marcus, groaning internally as he doubts that his own attempt at stealth will be much better.
Marcus whispers back toward the others, "There are stairs to the east or we can follow the stream north. It sounds like there's some sort of wild animals up the stairs, but the stream is covering any sounds to the north so maybe we'd prefer the known over the unknown?"
[[ So sorry if I've been the one holding this up! I think I had it in my head that we were waiting for DM post and just came back to check since it had been a few days and realized Marcus had the most information at this point. ]]
OOC: I was just waiting to see whether you would go up the east stairs or continue north! Sorry for not making that clear.
The stairs lead upwards to a dark, damp chamber. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf's chain leads to an iron rod driven into the base of a stalagmite.
Seraphine feels a pang of pity seeing the wolves chained up like this, likely captured and starved by goblins to be used as weapons. "They may be too far gone, but it can't hurt to try." She moves a few steps closer, speaking softly in Elvish to try to calm the creatures. She tosses them each a ration, though isn't sure they are starved enough to bear the taste. Animal Handling: 18
Brungir raises his crossbow a bit higher as they come across the chained wolves, making sure to stay well out of reach. "I don't think we should be messing about with em. Who knows what the goblins have been training them to do on top of anything else the cruel buggers might of done to em."
Seraphine relaxes a little as the wolves calm down, giving a small smile at Phait's compliment and a nod at Brungir's warning. "They seem relaxed for now. I'd love to free them, but...it may not be the best idea right now." She steps closer, peering into the darkness for any other passages or anything the wolves might have been placed here to guard. Perception: 11
The hairs on the back of Marcus's neck prickle at the intensity of the wolves' snarls before Seraphine manages to calm them. "They're still wild animals, and who knows if the goblins have trained them for anything. Best to leave them for now, and perhaps we can free them later after dealing with everything else." He joins Seraphine in looking for anything that might help them determine their next move (perception 13).

Phait raises his staff and chants in Dwarvish, causing a bonfire to appear around one of the goblins.

Each character gains 75 XP.
What was the XP for the first fight? Or is 75 the XP for both fights?
"So much for them all being asleep." Seraphine remarks, wiping her sword off on the grass.
"Well at least we know how to approach things." mutters Phait. He grins grimly. "With sudden violence."

OOC: The XP was a story milestone for reaching the cave.
As you enter the cave, the rockwork surrounds you and engulfs you in darkness. With darkvision / light source:
A set of stone steps leads to the east and the tunnel continues northwards through the gloom, following the stream.
Marcus:
Through the sound of rushing water, you make out barking and sounds of scrapping wild animals from the cavern to the east.

"Alright, let's try this again." Seraphine mutters a prayer and attempts to follow the others stealthily.
Stealth= nat 1
While towards the back, Treela tries to move quietly.
Stealth 6
Of course she doesn't succeed, since she's never done sneaking before, but she does slightly better this time...
Phait Stealth: 15+2 = 17
By some miracle, Phait is actually stealthy this time as he comes with the rest of the party.

Seraphine thinks for a moment. "The stream might cover the noise of my armor, but...yes, I'd rather face the known too. Stick to my strengths."

"You have a talent with animals." whispers Phait with admiration. He looks at the floor of the cave to get a gander.
[[ Is the floor solid rock or dirt? Wondering if mold earth while we're in here. ]]
