I won't be joining the festivities Exa. I'm just the event organiser. The Curator will be joining those in the Gemstone Wing at her own table. However I doubt if she'll stay in one place for very long...politics. Now go and make the most of your free half hour. She waves Kyreth and Exa away, and her office is filled by more students.
Exa stoops in a final curtsy to the secretary before winding her way past the other students filtering in. Once outside the office, she Is more like her usual confident, cheeky self.
"Let's scope out the second floor," she whispers to her partner in crime. "See if we can't figure out how those pass cards work."
With her tail swinging with nervous energy, she would head to the second floor, her eyes alert for anyone using one of the pass cards while she surveyed the second floor.
DM At the top of the stairs they saw the Allosaurus, Exa leaned forward to look at it and just made out the cockpit door. She wondered if Thistle was already there. According to the map the ground around the Allosaurus was alarmed. Holding her pass tightly she stepped next to it. No sound, and the guards weren't hurrying over. So she just had to have it on her to work. Simple.
To her left was an impressively carved door with two guards, both women. Passes hung from their belts along with a key. Easy pickings if needed.
To her right was a short corridor then a large room with plush furniture and a large buffet table, Exa could smell the salmon crudities from where she stood. Best get rid of the serviettes there before she explored. The room was awash of students. No-one would notice where they went.
Exa made sure to note the appearance of the two women standing guard. She had no intention of losing her pass card, but that key was enticing and her fingers twitched at the thought of liberating it from the guard's belt. But that was for later.
For now she dropped the serviettes off where she had been told, hoping the High Cleric wasn't expecting them back.
Unless anyone stopped her, she would start to look for the skylight Manvilius and Delilah had told them about, hoping it would give her a bird's eye view of where the stone would be on display.
Exa and Kyreth can see the entrance to the corridor mentioned by Mavilius. They look around and see that no-one is watching them in this student crush, and dart down the corridor. They soon find the privies and the door next to them. It is unlocked.
Exa slips through unseen. A winding staircase leads up to a cramped space filled with haphazardly stacked boxes. Starlight pours into the space through a large skylight.
She spares a moment to peer up into the sky through the skylight, enjoying the thought of the light streaming in through the glass and down into the museum.
Breaking out of her brief reverie, she turns her attention down, carefully peeking over the rim to see the wing below where she believe the stone is. Or would be. She's mindful not to extend too far over, should a guard be looking upward.
Exa sees tables and chairs cluttered with crystal and silver tableware. A sumptuous fabric chair sits to one side of the room on a dais. Against the east wall she can see a light green stone resting atop a marble pedestal. Surrounding the egg are cabinets of gemstones gleaming in the light from the skylight. Exa also sees a lute, covered with golden inlay offset by mother of pearl, that's what Mavilius was after.
She notes that the Skylight is locked and that there are some bricks nearby. The lock is an easy one.
Exa can also see a candle burning down the hour below her, she had a few minutes left.
Exa decides to make the most of the few minutes she has left by unlocking the skylight now in case they needed it in a hurry later. She retrieves her trusty lock pick and gets to work.
[[She has proficiency with Thieves' Tools and Expertise in Sleight of Hand, so would it be a dexterity check with Thieves' Tools at advantage?]]
Kyreth sees Exa slip through the door and moves to a position where he can keep watch so Exa doesn't come back out just as a guard passes. "Knock when you're about to come back out and I'll open the door if it's safe."
Mavilius arrived early, the carriage right next to the Entrance. Maryam the guard captain gave him a look, then a low whistle. Well you look the part anyway. I take it that you are Mavilius the Bard? You're early, I'm still trying to get the students in place. Check in with Eriniel the secretary, she'll tell you where to go.
“I do try to make an impression,” he says, golden eyes gleaming beneath the curve of his mask. “Yes, I am indeed Mavilius. A pleasure to be welcomed so warmly, Captain. I’ll find Secretary Eriniel straight away." The tiefling heads inside, barely containing his excitement.

DM Exa fumbled her pick and it snapped. The spare set of thieves tools were in the bag. Maybe she should ask Kyreth to try, he had some as well.

Kyreth just manages to unlock the Skylight, he too nearly broke a pick and blamed it on the rusted lock.
DM
Mavilius finds himself surrounded by students all filing towards the middle door of offices. The door says Museum Secretary.
