"So, any idea on how we would contact these Dao? Just stand in front of a mirror and call out to them?" The white-haired tiefling lady in the red dress asks with some curiosity now that there is mention of a wish.
Well traditionally you rub the container and they come, which takes us back to the security room and the Zhents. It's the best place to get to all the mirrors.
Exa accepts the quill with a grateful grin to Verity. She then starts making some notes in the margin of the map. She records the details of the safe room, its animated guardian and the key and rod required to navigate it safely. She is sure to include the information on the gems and the enchanted chests of coin, of course. The dao in the mirrors are noted as well.
"Can't think of any more questions right now and I'm sure we can handle it from here."The white-haired tiefling lady in the red dress says with a confident tone, ready to leave to hire a barge.
We don't need a full merchants barge, we just need the ferry boat to go upstream. Less likely to fall in. Their berth is just down the road from here, and we have but a 3 hour journey, let's see what they offer.
"Ah yes, us tieflings will feel right at home in that hellish place." The white-haired tiefling lady in the red dress says with a playful smile to Mavilius, glancing back at her own tail to practice swaying seductively with it. "And imagine being granted a wish if we would manage to free a Dao, or all of them?" She adds, her eyes glowing with excitement now.
"Sounds good Kyreth, lead the way." She then says to the blue-skinned tiefling and follows along in her new enticing guise.
"To the barge!" Exa agrees enthusiastically, rolling up the annotated map and slipping it into their own bag of holding, careful not to mistake it for Verity's. It would be awkward to lose the map into a bag they couldn't retrieve it from.
The group walks down to the river mouth, watching large merchants barges offload, the horses are larger than you've ever seen, bred to haul loads. At the pier you notice a small decorated ferry with leather upholstery and soft cushions.
Can I help you? Says a boatman.
Kyreth says we want passage up the river to to where it becomes the Styx, the new Casino.
The boatman nods I've been getting a fair amount of custom there, 2 silvers for all of you, just the trip up the river.
Kyreth puts 2 silver into his hand. All aboard he calls.
"Now this was quite picturesque, not quite the hellish scene we're heading for." The white-haired tiefling lady in the red dress says with an amused smile as she gracefully steps into the small decorated ferry, taking a comfortable seat among the soft cushions to admire the pleasant view.
As the accomplices all are aboard she would address them quietly enough for the boatman not to hear them. "I suggest we seek employment as if we don't know each other, could give us an edge later on. I believe we should perhaps wait to execute until the game is underway to maximize the embarrassment for our target. Until then we should gather intelligence about security and routines. The actual execution should probably include a distraction in the casino while we discreetly take over the security office, take care of the mirrors, and collect what is due. We would also need that password and that rod from our target, and probably we can't get the latter at least until execution to not raise suspicion."
As "Lilith" lays out the plan, he listens intently, tapping one gloved finger thoughtfully against the side of the ferry. When she finishes, he nods once, slowly, eyes gleaming. “Agreed. Separate introductions will serve us well. And once the stakes are high? That’s when I’ll take the stage.” He flashes a grin, sharp and delighted. “I’m sure our dear Thistle wouldn’t mind assisting again—he does have a flair for mayhem.”
His tone cools ever so slightly, voice silk over steel. “And if we can arrange for the Zhentarim infestation to be…permanently resolved in the process? Well, I’d call that a public service. One casino richer, one plague lighter.”
"Ideally I would hope for a security job, but if it's all Zhents that's not likely to happen." Kyreth lapses back into silence, watching the river slide by.
You relax into the soft cushions and enjoy the ride, the ferryman rides his horse leaving the party to talk to each other. They'd soon be at Havensend where the river becomes narrow and they call it the Styx. You'd have to change to the Casinos boat there.
"Ah yes, certainly, Thistle will be delighted. And I like your way of thinking about how to handle those pesky zhents dearest, but did you have any specifik pest extermination process in mind?" The white-haired tiefling lady in the red dress asks Mavilius with a curious smile.
"And yes, a security job would be optimal of course. Any chance you could pass of as a zhent sent here from some faraway black network stronghold?" She asks Kyreth with an encouraging smile.
She would later follow the others as they change boats, suggesting they would split up now in case the zhents have informants on the casino boats.
He smirks, tapping his chin thoughtfully. Normally he isn't the bloodthirsty sort, but Zhents are a special case. "Hm...Circus animals run amok, or perhaps...ah, those Dao wouldn't mind getting rid of a few pests, I'm sure. Perhaps we can negotiate it into our terms for freeing them."

I vote to find a way to release all the Dao, genies of the earth plane, regardless of potential rewards.
Exa
"Do you have a quill? Mind if I add notes to the map?" Exa asks with a gesture at Verity's map.

Here take this and she handed Exa a goose quill.

You say that you want your money in coin, would gems not be better? The Temple of Mask has a good jeweller.

You mean Jasper. He is a very fair seller and buyer, but I'll stay with coin, thank you for asking.

Thank you for coming and luck goes with you. She said, then went back to shuffling her cards.

The bard smiles as they head to leave, tail flicking excitedly. "Dao, a circus, lovely hellish ambiance...I can hardly wait."
