Marrow gestures silently at the three above to make their way down urgently, then positions himself at the south-east corner of the little room, ready to intercept anything that comes through the door.
Tumal touches Destin, giving him guidance for his descent, and then, after the ranger has touched down and nodding once at Casmenos, the elf accepts his own guidance and climbs down as well, gathering near the back of the crowd near the southeast corner.

With no other choice, Casmenos attempts to lower himself over the edge of the landing until he's hanging by his hands, and drop down the rest of the way.

As Casmeons touches down, the door pushes open and out shambles the source of the noise - putrid, rotting but somehow alive and upright corpses.
After last fight, I am taking the initiative, so to speak, and rolling initiative here. Everybody save Destin is on the top floor, and the stairs no longer exist except in the outlined square. You see two zombies immediately, but cannot tell if there are more, or how many, behind them. If there are any, they will be slotted into initiative upon arrival. Alphabetically:
Bastian: 13
Casmenos: 6
Cassyt: 18
Destin: 3
Keksi: 15
Kelvin: 11
Marrow: 14
Tumal: 9
Zombie1: 20
Zombie2: 9
With rolls established, that means anybody in bold can take their first turn. As always, if you are going to perform combinations, please work it out amongst yourselves.
Good question, and logically, there might be an area where it does, but while the module talks about a stair collapse, it does not mention any difficulty, so no. The wood was so spare and rotten that it poses no difficulty to movement.
Destin (Pokepaladdy) has been unavailable this weekend. I wrote my post with the idea that Tumal wouldn't come down until after Destin did. Can we say that Destin is on the floor with everyone else and let him roll once he gets back to determine whether he took any damage to get there?
At first glimpse of the shambling, rotting bodies, Tumal is disgusted. "By the light!" he says unconsciously. He backs up between Bastian and the wall (E9). As he walks, his hand makes a sweeping gesture, his lips whisper a few words in Elvish, and a flash of light streaks from the crystal at his throat toward zombie 1.

Marrow steps forward (to H7), and like Casmenos, he will ready an attack on the first zombie to come into range.
16 to hit, 11 damage.
Once again, Marrow is facing a creature such as he has never seen, and is a little bemused. These ones look... different to the others. Slower. That's... good?

Perhaps because he knows more of undead than anybody present, Destin climbs down the wall too quickly, and without his characteristic grace. Halfway down, his hand slips, and he falls, taking 2 bludgeoning damage, and is Prone.
You used half your movement to climb to the point where you fell, and you are prone at C4. You do still have the rest of your turn left, but it would take the rest of your movement to stand up.
(Will resolve descriptions and update the map when everybody before Zombie1 has taken their turn.)

Marrow and Casmenos place themselves in position to intercept the zombies.
Just as Tumal fires off a searing bolt of radiant energy, Destin falls to the ground behind him, and the noise spoils his aim.
Keksi calls down a holy fire upon Zombie1 16, who somehow avoids the divine energy, but Kelvin follows it up with a piercing bolt of energy straight to the creature's torso. It staggers under the impact, but shuffles straight ahead to the closest target it can see - Casmenos.
Casmenos slashes it across the chest, scoring a deep wound. Heedless of its severe wounds, the zombie keeps coming, and attempts to slam 8 the Paladin, but its arms bounce harmlessly off the armor.
Bastian, your second hit was unnecessary, and you have enough movement left to reach the second zombie to use that hit. Keep in mind, however, that if you do so, you would be down the corridor past your allies, with that zombie, and whatever else (if there is anything else) that has yet to reveal itself behind that zombie.

Marrow gestures silently at the three above to make their way down urgently, then positions himself at the south-east corner of the little room, ready to intercept anything that comes through the door.
Bastian takes cover around the corner north of the southeast door, keeping an eye on Marrow and an ear open. He readies the blades at his sides.
Tumal touches Destin, giving him guidance for his descent, and then, after the ranger has touched down and nodding once at Casmenos, the elf accepts his own guidance and climbs down as well, gathering near the back of the crowd near the southeast corner.
Acrobatics: 14 + guidance: 4
As Tumal lowers to the floor, he can make out the shuffling beyond the door that the others have heard. It is not loud, but definitely getting closer.

With no other choice, Casmenos attempts to lower himself over the edge of the landing until he's hanging by his hands, and drop down the rest of the way.
If necessary:
Climb (athletics) check: 22
Landing (acrobatics) check: 3

Does the wreckage of the stairs count as difficult terrain?
Does moving diagonally cost double movement every second one, or always just 5 ft?
Good question, and logically, there might be an area where it does, but while the module talks about a stair collapse, it does not mention any difficulty, so no. The wood was so spare and rotten that it poses no difficulty to movement.
Casmenos will use his movement to try to get to G9.
C6-C7-D8-E9-F9-G9
He will ready an action to attack a zombie that comes into range.
If the movement is valid and a zombie does approach:
Piercing Attack: 19 Damage: 8

Guiding Bolt: 6; Damage: 9 radiant damage
Hey everyone, back from my weekend away. Just catching up on all of the chats.
Destin will have gone last (to make the continuity easier) and be carefully headed downstairs since there is nowhere for the rope to be tied.
Acrobatics: 15
Marrow steps forward (to H7), and like Casmenos, he will ready an attack on the first zombie to come into range.
16 to hit, 11 damage.

"Yes, I know, upright corpses are bad!"
Kelvin speaks some haunting words in Celestial, and a blast of pure energy flies toward the first Zombie.
Eldritch Blast: Attack: 12 Damage: 10
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep

Destin stumbles down the stairs, then pulls himself to his feet. "Zombies..." He says with a snarl, drawing his axes.
Keksi will fire off a sacred flame at the nearest zombie when it's her turn: 2 damage on a 12 DEX fail.
Current turn (bold may go now):
Bastian flanks the zombie on Casmenos, attempting catch it off guard.
(Moves to G8, then attacks)
Short sword(piercing) Attack: 16 Damage: 7
Dagger (piercing) Attack: 15 Damage: 4
Sneak Attack: 1
(Moves back to E8)
Bastian dances forward, and with one swing of his sword, ends the zombie...
But wait...the zombie: 4
The zombie twitches, but stays down.
