Vakas hears Skritch's idea and he starts to fish around in his backpack. "I've got something that will help..." He finds his trusty crowbar and puts it under the door, or near the hinges, then he applies pressure, using leverage. "Got... to.... put.... my... back... into... it...."
After sweating a moment, he doesn't feel like it is giving way, just groaning a bit. "Anyone else wanna try? Or do you think you can slither under that?" He looks at Skritch with puzzlement.
Strength check with adv due to crowbar : 14

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"An inch, an inch is all I'll need. I, er, think..."
If the party can lever enough of a gap (or, you know, if there was already enough of one in the first place), Skritch will Wild shape into a Venomous Snake (OOC: but with slightly better stats, per my character sheet) and slither into the new room then, slink around unobtrusively, if possible, using his Wild Shape's blind sight to see what he can see...
Rachus you use your spell to clear away the spider webs. Which books do you wish to take? Also, If you wish to search for the specific subject request by Skritch roll for investigation.
Vakas the lock on the door appears to be fused, and your crowbar does not give enough leverage to burst the hinges or lock. Dealuri perhaps could try one of her suggestions (DC 15 STR check)? (OOC: not sure what she is thinking with the oil and flames but interested to see what she has in mind if you choose that).
Skritch you examine the door frame and there are no gaps big enough for a mammal or reptile. Perhaps a small spider or a cockroach?
Rachus and Vakas remember to put those scrolls in your inventory :)
(OOC: will give myself back the Wild Shape, if that's okay. Was only going to do it if there was a space to slither through. And FYI, I think you have to pick your four forms at level. So I think I'm stuck without a spider option at this point. But let me know if that's not how it works...)
(OOC: Enjoying this v much. Is tiding me over in the fortnight between actual play games v nicely!)
OOC: Ref wild shape as long as you could have reasonably seen the creature on your travels I am content for you to change into them. If you see something new you need to spend 10 mins "imprinting" their form into your repertoire and you are ready to roll. Only the level of beast you can transform into is limited by your class level. That said you can imprint on higher level beasts now ready for later levels. I am also happy for you to stray from the monster manual as long as it is a level appropriate beast and you can show a reasonable stat block. If there are particular forms you are keen to use just pop me a DM and we can agree whether you would have already seen them or I can summon one up in game to kill you.. I mean for you to learn about.
Rachus add "Cooking with Kobolds: A Cultural and Culinary Compendium" to your inventory and let me know when you fancy a read. (Though I would caution against starting a book club in the middle of the dungeon...looks at the wizard) :)
Ok back to the game... do you guys have more business with this second door or are you moving on further into the dungeon?
"Thanadol, did you detect magic behind, er, both doors? If so, it'd be a shame to go on without seeing if there was a way in - oh. Actually I guess I could do, er... this!"
And Skritch Wild Shapes into a wee wee spider and - before anyone can swat him - scuttles under the door and into the room.
With Darkvision 30', what can Skritch see in there (this will dictate whether he'll morph back into himself and open the door from within, or explore but then scuttle back out before turning back into his usual self...)?
OOC: Thanadol did indeed sense enchantment magic behind this door.
You scuttle beneath the door and find yourself in another small chamber. Dust cakes the floor and there is only one object in this room; a sturdy looking chest. You can not see the source of the enchantment magic. (If you want to try then roll an arcana check, DC 18)
The rest of you see Skritch disappear beneath the door. Thanadol your detect magic ends at this point.
Skritch cautiously comes back from under the door and resumes his squirrel form.
"Ah," he says as he stretches and tests his tail, "that was fun, I, er, I s'pose - but you can't beat a bushy behind!
"So. There's a big chest. Might be worth getting at. But I couldn't see any way to open the door from inside. Any chance you can try picking the lock again?"
{EDIT} "Or we - and by we, I mean, you tough nuts - could just smash that ol' door in and we deal with whoever we attract...?"
Vakas's head swivels around when he hears Skritch start to talk about a chest. "Really.... oh that's too good to pass up." He turns back to Dealuri, saying "Hey Dealuri, d'ya think you can open this door? C'mon, take out some of that anger that you showed earlier out on this door, here's a crowbar, it will help you to pop it open like a walnut..." Vakas holds his hand out, palm up, indicating said door and crowbar.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Thanadol will shrug at them, can't do anything... Unless you need some fire or wind. I could waste energy to maybe open this door, but that's energy I'd rather save for a kobold. Then, unless they suggest a way for him to help, he searches the books for something that might help.
Thanadol will think for a moment, Hmm... I do have a few ideas. He will then use prestidigitation to first Clean a cubic foot around the doorknob and lock. Then he will warm it up. Then he will create the rough shape of a key to try in the door.
If it works he will step into the room, if it doesn't work he will first suggest that the party try to open the door with it cleaned up and not stone cold.
If they can't he will try to examine the lock see if maybe he can make a key that would work with prestidigitation. Checks for examining the lock if any required Investigation: 18 Perception: 5
Thanadol you go to work on the lock with your cantrip. Unfortunately fashioning a key that works is beyond the scope of that cantrip. However, given that the lock has now been cleaned with prestidigitation Vakas can have one more crack at picking it with disadvantage unless Dealuri bashes it down first.

Thanadol responds to Skritch :
"I don't know why I didn't think of it before, then he reverently hands one of the scrolls of healing word to Rachus and Vakas"
If that doesn't count as a short rest. He will then take the 3 of the offered berries and eat them while still reading his book.
(It does not count as a short rest, so he takes the berries)

"Hey all," Skritch telepaths back through the door, "can't see what the source of magic is. There's, er, not really anything in here. Pity. Oh well...
"I mean, there might be something behind the big eerie chest that's all alone in here.
