Rachus you dash in and support Dealuri as she battles one of the kobolds. Your rapier slices into its side spilling out its innards on Dealuris boots.
Vakas seeing the final kobold struggling against the diminutive druids spell you calmly walk over and dispatch the creature with lethal efficiency. You watch as sparks crackle around its limp form as the magic from the ring slowly dissipates.
The kobolds are dead, the danger has passed for now. A few of you have taken wounds but nothing too serious.
The door now stands open and the chest beyond invites your attention. Or you may choose to leave it be and head deeper into the dungeon?
OOC: I hope you are all ok with this freestyle approach to fights, I find it keeps the game flowing. In different circumstances we will employ more structure initiative etc.
Vakas sheathes his short sword and dagger, walking over toward the chest, saying "Hello, my pretty. But you're cooped up all alone in this room. How about you open up your treasures for us, eh?" He squats down and looks but does not touch, examining the floor and the front of the chest for locks, traps, pressure plates, etc. His senses are tingling after the recent bloody encounter.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Uninjured, Skritch and Sunhill - sorry, Brave Sunhill - watch Vakas assaying the chest, ready to offer what help they can.
Doing his own bit of perceiving, Skritch's perception check on the chest is: 3+3=6. (OOC: Eff me!)
He mindmelds the group, "Beteedubs, I have one Greatberry (1hp healing, alright, it's just a Goodberry, but with a really positive attitude) left, if any one needs it. Not sure how banged up you all got. Yell out.
"And, er, that's all my healing done, just so you know. At least until I can take a nice, long rest."
Hmm,ponders Skritch. I wonder if the fact that I was only a wee spider when I was in that room with the chest prevented me from triggering anything in there that might react more, er, vigorously to a more conventionally sized creature?
OOC: Could be Skritch, could be... also you cant easily strangle a spider
Vakas you sense movement above as you step into the room and leap to the side as a magical rope appears above you, summoned by your movement. It lashes down forming a noose designed to wrap around your neck and lift you up into the air. Thankfully you were on your guard and nimble enough to avoid the trap. Having failed to find its mark the spell dissipates and it is safe to investigate the chest.
Vakas and Thanadol you both examine the chest for traps or locks, either magical or mundane and find it to be unlocked and safe to open. (I will assume you open it now) Inside you find a number of large pouches filled with silver coins. You count ten pouches in all, with each carrying 100 silver pieces. Quite the find.
Is there anything more you all wish to accomplish before moving further into the dungeon?
"Twas just a scratch, I can go on without a problem," says Deauri about the hit one of the kobolds landed against her (20/26 hp). "I like bags of coins. These ones are pretty," she adds while running her hands through a bag.
A smile comes to Vakas face as he dodges the noose trap and manages to open the chest. “Ah yeah, that’s a good start! Here you go everyone, cheers for the intrepid adventurers!” he says tongue in cheek, handing out two bags of 100 sp to each, with a wink and a nod. “Now, where should we head next?” he says as he stands in the square before the chest room, gathering up his ball bearings, one at a time.

"That was a close call with a noose no less. Thank you kindly for silver. Now I think we should head deeper into this place, but I am amenable if someone wishes to head back to the crossroads" says Rachus putting away his bags of silver.
Well everyone! What do we think, do we have time enough for a bit of a rest? May be healthy but I'm swift lowering in magical power. He will pocket two of the bags of silver.
ooc:DM does it look like it would be risky to take a rest (long or short) or would we probably be fine? If we would be safe would we be able to take a long rest?
OOC: Unless someone has view to the contrary you will all head deeper into the dungeon, leaving the scene of battle behind you.
You all press on, the main tunnel sloping gradually downward beneath your boots. The air thickens with a clammy chill, each breath laced with the scent of wet stone and something faintly metallic. The ground grows slick underfoot, moisture gathering in shallow rivulets along the walls.
Here and there, weary torches sputter in their brackets, casting narrow cones of flickering amber light. Shadows twist and stretch across the rough-hewn rock, giving fleeting form to half-imagined shapes. Then, a glimmer.
Off to the left, a heavy wooden door slouches open on weary hinges. From the narrow crack seeps a soft, flickering light. Just outside it lies a curious cluster of tools: a rust-stained shovel leaning awkwardly against the wall, a mop fallen limp across a battered metal bucket. All abandoned. All forgotten.
Do you investigate the open door or continue on your way?

Thanadol you blast the kobold attacking Vakas sending it flying to slump against the far wall. Dead.
Skritch the kobold wriggles within the entangling roots and manages to avoid your strike. It appears to be as surprised as you are.
Only two kobolds now remain.

Vakas as you enter the room make a Dex saving throw with advantage due to your heightened state of awareness.

OOC: you have opened and search the two rooms leaving your options as either going deeper into the dungeon or back to the cross roads.

OOC: seems like we have a handful of options:
i) Rest here - to me seems destined to b interrupted
ii) Go back and explore those other corridors, and maybe find a credible resting place,
iii) Leave the complex, and maybe find a credible resting place,
iv) go deeper, and hope we maybe find a credible resting place...
I vote for 4. But will tag along with group decision, regardless...
Thanadol votes for option 4 as well.
