Fran swung her sword in a complex pattern while she muttered a spell. She ended by pointing the sword at the monster as she finished her incantation with, "Witch Bolt!"
A beam of lighting crackles between Fran's sword and the monster.
Attack 16, damage 8 lightning. {rolled on character sheet}
{Even if this attack is a miss, Fran is now connected to the monster with lighting. Then it's auto damage every round 😺}
The witch bolt strikes the creature! It convulses lightly, and stops feeding to raise it's neck out of the water and take a look at the source of the lightning arching onto its body. The sea monster will probably move to attack next round!
Action: Seeing everyone's melee attacks being shrugged off by the beast, Julienne tries to recall all her cooking lessons and books on fish to figure out its weak spots (Not sure which kind of check that would be). If the check succeeds, Julienne will tell the party what she found out.
Movement: Moving to the back of the boat, using Halfling Nimbleness if necessary.
Like Pag's spear, the arrow does not penetrate the beast's tough hide. You'll need to hit softer spots to hurt it.

(Not sure if that was the sea monster's turn, so please hold this if not)
Bao will take his short bow and try to hit but the boat rocks and he misses (10 to hit)
D&D since 1984
Still waiting on Julienne's turn before the first non-surprise round begins.
And the ongoing connection to Fran will let know who's doing this...
Bonus action: Hunter's mark

(Dain can swap places)
Julienne will switch with Dain, if possible
I suppose that would be a Nature check!
Well Dain got a 0 nature check. Yep 0.
Nature check: 16
The creature's neck seems pretty vulnerable. See if you can aim for that!
(I just realized that check wasn’t meant for me. Phew! 😅)
