Since Mage Hand is a cantrip I can repeatedly cast it. I give everybody -player and DM- freedom to use it. I can’t be on 24/7 and I don’t want the party slowed down waiting to poke something.
I utter more mystical phrases and use the Mage Hand the press each color combination pausing a little after each combo to see any results. “Is being like child’s game, except if lose, we die. HAH!”
Your mage hand tries various combinations and for some time nothing happens. This until you press the stones in the following order: yellow, blue, orange. When you do so the mist in front of you disappears leaving sight to a long corridor that continues in the dark.

You don't see nothing special in the corridor. It's made of plain rock and there are no more paintings on the walls. As far as your eyes can see it's a normal corridor.

"Let us pray that light guides the way." Lumiere says as she steps forward through the arch towards where the torches landed. She will keep an eye out for any more traps along the way.
As soon as Lumiere and Jerigg stand into the corridor they disappear out of sight. One second before they were there, now they're gone. All of this in a blink of an eye.

Let's say he did them in the order Pokepaladdy posted them in.

The rock flies a couple of feets and then falls on the ground with a dry sound that echoes in the whole tomb. Nothing happens.
I light a two torches, casually toss one down the hall then take the other and give it a hard throw down the hall. Is anything new revealed?

Jerigg throws two torches into the corridor and they start illuminating the walls further ahead.
Nothing happens with the torches and you still can't see the end of the corridor even if the light reaches 30 feet ahead.
