"We come on behalf of a request for aid that the Lady of Nightstone, Lady Velrosa Nandar, sent to Waterdeep. We came as quick as we could." Devin says.
The Guard who was abusing the other one for not shutting the door turns to Devin and Jaylen and says “Great! My lady writes to the Lords of Waterdeep asking for a squadron of the Griffon cavalry to drive them off a Cloud Giant flying castle circling the village. Not only did the Lords not send the troops as requested but they send a ragtag group and it gets here too late to save the Village and my Lady” she points at the body on the table “from the Cloud Giants." The other three Guards all nod at this.
Torunn turns around from his examination of the building, and seeing all the introductions waves at the soldiers. "The name is Torrunn. Inventor, crafter and cleric of Gond. When you are done waving your swords around, could one of you point me in the direction of the bridge control room? I have heard many things about these mainland castle drawbridges and would love a chance to see how you make them operate. Don't worry, I won't actually let it down, I just want to look at it." he says the last part with an earnest grin whilst doing his best to wait still and patiently.
“Could one of you point me in the direction of the bridge control room?”Toruun asks
One of the Guards looks at Toruun with a quizzical expression as if he can’t quite work out why Toruun is asking this question of them. Then it is as if a light-bulb goes off and says “if you mean the drawbridge to the village, well the mechanism is back in the gatehouses next to it – at the entrance to the village!”
Jaylen moves over beside the body and gently places a hand on the Lady's arm. After pausing with her head lowered, the cleric looks up, her face suffused with sadness, her eyes sparkling. "I'm so sorry we didn't get here in time."
"Query! WHAT!?"D.O.R.K looks back to a very much confused Vark and a still somewhat shocked Beedo. "Beedo. Go with my brother. Keep him safe until we return. Vark. Your with me."D.O.R.K rushes off to the sound of Beedo stuttering and stammering over a response, and Vark jogging behind her. Without breaking his pace by much, he turns back to shrug at Beedo, and wishes him good luck in goblin before picking up the pace.
D.O.R.K only slows at the makeshift bridge to avoid breaking it. But as soon as she's past it, she doesn't stop running for anything.

D.O.R.K only slows at the makeshift bridge to avoid breaking it. But as soon as she's past it, she doesn't stop running for anything.
It is about 500 feet to the edge of the village which D.O.R.K. manages to cover in about 90 seconds as a result of dashing the whole way. When he gets there he finds Golemogotê placidly ripping up chunks of grass and stuffing them in his mouth. To one side can be seen a puddle that looks distinctly goblin like and that there are bits of Goblin brains and flesh in Golemogotê’s chain as if he had beaten the goblin against it.
He rushes out with D towards the makeshift bridge. He looks to see if the 2 goblins and Kella are still there. He then follows after D keeping up with her.
D.O.R.K huffs and puts her hands on her hips. "And that, my dear Acolyte, is Golemong… Golen… Gel..." She pauses for a moment, and then looks down at a probably very ill-looking Vark. "Mr. G. Just call him Mr. G." She then glances up to the sky, and clicks something in her head. "How long do you think it will take us to get to where Boss 'Ark and rest currently reside, Vark?"She asks distractedly.

The Guards look up in surprise as D.O.R.K., Devin and Vark rush out “where’s that lot off to in such a hurry! What’s this about an elephant?” the female Guard who seems to be the leader asks the party (Jaylen, Meiva and a distracted Toruun).
Torunn sighs, disappointed. "That's a shame. Ah well I will have to have a look when I head back." As some of the party members run off, Torunn looks at the Guards bored. "Oh them? They are just checking on the elephant. I am sure it's nothing to worry about."
At Jaylen’s mention that the party arrived on an elephant one of the younger guards pipes up and says “is it true that they are as ‘Big as a house’ and have got a ‘Nose like a snake’ and do they really ‘Make the earth shake’?”Another guard, who looks very similar (possibly a brother) to the one that just spoke joins in and says “do they really have horns in their mouth and is it true they never lie down, ‘Not even to die!”The guard who has been the spokesperson to date just rolls her eyes and says "Great so you've got some special form of transport. What I'm interested is what are you going to do to make the Village and the Keep safe?
It takes Devin about 3 minutes to make his way back into the Keep.
Jaylen looks around, as if surveying the town again through the walls of the keep. She looks back at the woman and gives a little shrug. "Seems to me any barely-functioning hovel harrowed by elves, goblins and giants who recently lost their last remaining monarch might throw in the towel."
"Seems to me any barely-functioning hovel harrowed by elves, goblins and giants who recently lost their last remaining monarch might throw in the towel."Jaylen remarks
The Guard looks at Jaylen with scorn and says “that is exactly what I would expect of a cleric of Tymora, expect the goddess to do your work for you, but I Sydiri Haunlar will never throw in the towel while breath in my body remains. Nor will,” she looks at her comrades expectantly “my colleagues.” “Yeah right Sarge” they all chant but perhaps not with as much enthusiasm and commitment as was in Sydiri’s voice.
"Make the village and keep safe?" Jaylen asks."For what purpose?"The lead Guard looks a little confused by the question but says “because that is what my Lady would have wanted if she still lived!”
Meiva turns towards the lead guard.
"If your Lady lived she would want that. But since she is not still alive, she must, therefore, not want that, is it not so?" she asks.

The Guard draws her sword and in a flash has it at Meiva’s throat and says “who are you to say what my lady would want or not want? I can assure you that while it may have been her intention to die in bed after a long and fruitful life, it was not her intention to die in bed as a result of boulder crashing through the roof!”

Meiva raises a hand to a thinly pointed ear.
”The elephant,” she says matter-of-factly, glancing at the others.
”It sounds angry.”
