A shouted ‘WTF?’ burst out from me as the Pally leans into his stirrups and appears to be setting up a charge. Thrusting fingers to mouth I let loose a sharp whistle to try & catch his attention.
Before leaving the cloud, I whirl the horse around. "What?" then see the people lining up and remember hearing something about a plan but it was blanketed out by the signs of the running dwarves and halfling. I survey the situation to see if it looks like all the halflings will make it to the defensive position.
"Padawan is an acceptable term," I grim from beneath the helmet. From my vantage point I can see they just might make it on their own. "Jason mentioned something about a defensive perimeter, get it ready, I'll join you, but if any of them fall before they reach you, I'll buy them the time they need." The look in his eyes and the snort from Maximus showed how ready they both were.
Everyone heads back to the clearing to make a defensive stand. The horses arrive first and most everyone gets ready to attack the spiders. Not long after the horses get there the dwarves begin to pour into the clearing followed closely by the Halfling.
Everyone can have one attack before the spiders get there via ranged weapons. I will need initiative plus any combat rolls for the first round.
Taking out my composite bow, I launch an arrow at the pursuing spiders, hoping to do some damage before the combat becomes close-in. After the arrow is in the air, I put down the bow and wait for the range to close enough to run at my enhanced speed at the nearest living spider, leaping up into the air to come down with my sword strike.

The move and strike are for next round and will be rolled then.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
As the last of the dwarves and the halfling make it into the cleared area Rachel casts Briar Web into the trees causing the spiders to be slowed down even more as the trees create a entangling growth of thorns that also cause damage to the spiders. Thalica is able to take down a spider with two shots from her bow. While Herschel is able to hit one also. Grant is able to hit one while Jason's shot goes off prematurely sending a quarrel into the ground. Jonathan gets ready to charge back at the spiders as Vickie looks about to see if everyone is in the area and safe. With Rachel's spell she has offered you all an additional attack before the spiders get within melee range. The dwarves and the Halfing are sprawled about in the small clearing catching their breaths.

Quirking an eyebrow the living barricade against the enemy, I fire another shot into the slowed spiders.

Some of the spiders move closer as everyone makes another attack as they move forward except Jonathan and Ceasar who seem to be waiting for the spiders to come to them. Rachel readies her club as Jason, Thalica, Herschel, Grant and Vickie all shoot off another round. Two more spiders go down under the onslaught as the rest move forward too. Some of the spiders will be in the clearing at the start of the next round. Thus ends this round. Ceasar, Jonathan and Rachel will be ready for their melee rounds now. I will need actions from the rest. The dwarves look to Jason and say in common. "Thanks we be needing a bit to catch our breaths but we will assist in killing off these vermin as we can." They start to ready dwarven axes You can see they are lightly armored (Leather only) The Halfling looks to be passed out

Slinging my bow and tapping into the excessive speed provided by the magic boots, I run to the left side, pulling out my sword with a swift motion before jumping high into the air to come down on the leading spider on that far side.

There is no way we're not helping. "Keep your eyes to the sides as well as the rear if you do not charge with us!"
Stance: LtC=Leading the Charge (WR) I do not intent to move silently or stealthily, I plan on charging on my beautiful horse into battle
Cast: Golden Barding (Horse gets +4 AC from scale mail barding, the lowest option I can add :P )

‘Patience Padawan. I mean Paladin’ I say with a smile. ‘Wanna let us in on the plan or want some backup?’
