i merely nod as i hear of more hobgoblins headed our way. I shake my head as it feels as if there is an unlimited number of them out here. " You know how i feel about hobgoblins. I want to kill every last one of those bastards. i vote for finding a good defensive spot and let them come. We cant do our usual method this time. My friend Caesar cant outrun them. He looks forward to killing them. " Caesar stands there impassively.
Travis, nods in agreement, "Hogoblin's again," then gets out his light crossbow, and gets it ready for action. "Until, I get a clear indication of numbers this will have to do," He says referring to his crossbow. He opens his prayer book, has a quick browse before filing it away in his sack. He try's to find with the others a spot secluded to wait.
I study the surroundings as we head to a defensible spot. " Caesar, you need armor very soon. it just takes time with someone as large as you. Maybe get you a warclub. We are probably about to fight some hobgoblins. They want to kill all of us. We must kill all of them first. " He growls and thumps his chest angrily.

“I never had as much luck with my bow in combat, so I’ll stick with this lovely sword. Let’s tuck the horses out of danger and move up a couple of diesel feet then conceal ourselves. “ finding a small corpse of trees the conceal the horses, I quickly secure the reigns of any horses we hide there, then move toward the encounter area with the rest of the party, hiding once there.
OOC- not going to spend more than a minute finding a spot for the mounts, but they still need to be away. I will place the alarm rock and activate it so that anything large that approaches the horses will trigger it.

Ping and Ariel both report it is the standard 8 hobgoblins each and they are not coming directly towards you but more towards each other as if they are finishing a search area.
On receiving the updated report from the scouts, I nod to the others, "Waiting's no good, they're not coming our way. Lets stalk their rendezvous point and ambush both groups at once when they meet up. Target the messengers first as before. Let's also try to take one alive again, hopefully we'll have better luck than last time with the interrogation."

By the scouts description you will not have to go far. Maybe a 1/4 mile. The horses can be concealed by the fact that you will be far enough away that the Hobgoblins would not see them and you can find trees to hide behind to try an ambush if that is what you are wanting to do.

I smile at the others. " Caesar and i will stay back a little bit. He is a little large to hide well. Dont worry though. We will be here to help quickly. " Caesar and i will find a good place to hide about 50 feet behind the others. i think for a moment on what I'll do when the battle begins.
I grab some branches and flip them onto my pack flanking my head and grab another tucked into my shield hand to cover my face as I stand behind a tree not peeking out more than an inch from behind the tree. Knowing how much faster I am now planing for melee and defense and let the others focus on the ranged attacks.

Locating a good spot to pounce from, I grin as I once again use my magic item to blend into the terrain, hoping it's enough to give the enemy a shock when I emerge from hiding. Relaxed and ready in my chosen spot, I ponder the sudden change in career from systems analyst to forest soldier in this new world. Ears open, eyes downcast a bit to prevent observation, I wait their approach.

I find a decently sheltered spot to kneel and ready my big crossbow, Thalica beside me. I utter a quick prayer to whatever gods may be listening that this goes well.
It is not long after you all get into place before you can see the hobgoblins from the west moving through the trees towards a area in front of you. You can also hear the ones from the east but are unable to see them but it is not long beore you can see them too. You see thatthey will meet in a area not far from you. They do not seem to be trying to be silent thus they do not hear or see you do to their noise. Soon they are within eyesight of each other as well as you. You can see two of them moving a bit faster than the others moving to talk to each other. They stop about 50 feet in front of you and begin speaking to each other. This is the time you wish to spring your attack. I will need one surprise round from each of you before initiative. So one surprise round of attacks, initiative rolls and one attack roll or action.

With over two months of day in and day out training I've managed to get my weight down and my speed up by charging around in heavy metal armor. Eating the proper meals and putting on muscle mass again to prep for wearing even heavier plate armor, now given the light weight chain mail and magically enhanced boots I surprise even myself as I see the first arrows fly and drop my twigs to charge at the entire group of hobgoblins to the east as the rest of the group lights up what we assume is their leader with arrows. With the intent to disrupt at least one group and keep them occupied, I move with a rapidity bolstered by the strength of a dragon god and feel invincible and incredibly stupid at the same time.

I nod, "Let's find a good spot to wait for them. We can always get on the move again if they don't come near. Time for those buff spells I think."
As last time I'll enchant several weapons amongst the party with Bane: goblinoids. Mine, Thalica's, and two others.
