It’s not long before you can all see the group’s movements (the tall grass moving). As they move closer you hear what you think is conversation (although it sounds more like bickering), but you don’t understand the language.
When they’re about 45ft away the group stops and the talking stops.
Do you want to release the spell now Estellen or wait?

You hear a few faint ‘thumps’ as something or someone hits the ground. One of the creatures starts shouting (although again you are unable to understand what is said).
The language they speak sounds guttural, but that’s about as much as you can work out.
The tall grass is a little over 3ft tall and is about 10-15ft away from you. About 30ft into the grass is where the group is. (so about 45ft from you)
A javelin flies out of the grass towards Estellen14 ...

It lands well short. Not surprising given a blind throw.
The tall grass will give anyone making a ranged attack disadvantage (as you’ll be unable to see the target), but will not affect melee combat. You will able to see where creatures are (that have not successful hidden) as they will displace the grass around them, but be unable see the creature itself.
Roll for initiative.
(Doc you may move up to 30ft before the combat starts if you want)

DOC
The Tortle runs up 30 feet into the tall grass, bearing his shield and Warhammer. He looks to immediately discern how many creatures were initially affected by Estellen's sleep spell, moving to first attack whomever threw the javelin.
It's difficult to see Doc, there's just a little bit more grass between you and them. However you are able to see a little movement. Some grey, some green, nothing is clear though. (5ft of grass between you and the group)

Doc charges in to find the owner of the javelin that almost caused the party harm. The others watch his body disappear into the tall grass, leaving only his head and shoulders visible.
He is met by a Goblin. However unlike the ones previously encountered, this one is wearing a chain shirt and is wielding a not terrible scimitar in one hand. In the other is fairly terrible plank shield that’ll only just do the job, but the rest of his equipment seems to be of average quality. In a large quiver/backpack you can also see 2 more javelins.
With the Goblin in front of you parting the tall grass, you can see 2 more Goblins wearing leather and 2Giant Rats with small saddle bags. All four seem to be asleep and slight snoring can be heard from a couple of them.
The Goblin in front of Doc (Goblin 3) takes 2 wild swings at the large armoured creature before it, the second even more wild than the first.
The first gets close, being parried at the last second by Doc’s shield. The second bounces harmlessly off of Doc’s thick shell, not even leaving a scratch. Fear begins to fill the Goblin’s eyes and it ducks clear of any retaliation and starts to flee. (Disengaged as BA)
Although it steps on its comrades as it runs, none of them wake from their slumber

3 magical darts burst from Violet’s hand and fly up into the sky. They then curve down towards the unseen foe and several yelps of pain are heard, but the Goblin is still moving.
Edra charges forwards, drawing a javelin as she does so. She stops just past Doc. With the sleeping enemies flattening the grass around them, she has a clear shot on the only awake Goblin and throws.

The Javelin hits just to the side of its stomach, almost causing it to fall, but it just manages to keep its footing. (those that can see it can see it’s in a bad way)
Doc you’re up (if you move 5ft forward you will have clear line of sight as the sleeping enemies are keeping the grass flat between you and the goblin)

(Would I be able to tell what language it is, even if I can't understand it?)
(Estellen will release the spell, unless he somehow learns that they're nonhostile)
