(Quilqwen will act as the lookout. If we are moving near trees he will fly up into the trees going from one to the other watching over the group. If it is flat he will share the lead with whomever is tracking. Flying 25 feet up every now and then to get a better view.)
(So sounds like the order would be Doc and Quilqwen up front, followed by Violet and Estelle’s, while Edda and Urokosh guard the rear. Doc is tracking and Quilqwen is keeping front lookout. Unless someone disagrees. )
(I've had no contact with urkosh for a while, but i know Edra is currently dealing with some irl stuff, so I'm giving Edra a bit of time to get the time to catch up before I move forward)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Because Edra hasn't posted this:
The pendant works as such: [once every few hours/once per short rest whichever is less, you can hold the pendant and stare into the gem to know the direction and distance to the other pendant (distance is given as close{within 300ft}, medium {300ft to 5 miles} and far {further than 5 miles}) This effect only works if both pendants are on the same plane and both creatures know when it's activated (if both are held)]
In case you wanted to use this at any point Estellen.
Although easy to follow at first, the tracks get harder to follow as the ground gets slightly drier. The grassland, small woods, and farms transition into a more savannah-like terrain. There are few trees here although there are plenty of low-level bushes. The tracks lead into some tall yellow grass and Doc is unable to see where they go from there.
Quilqwen frequently flutters up, but seems to struggle to maintain stable flight. This extra height does give him a much greater view of the surroundings. During most of the travel he sees nothing of note, just the occasional wild creature all of which give the group a wide berth. As they reach the tall grass however he sees a group of figures moving in roughly this direction. All the figures are shorter than the tall grass (which is 3ft-4ft tall) so you are unable to see what is there. (this group is WNW of you) Also to the North you see some movement in the tall grass, but again are unable to discern the nature of it (does not look like a group, more of a lone creature/person)
WNW group is about ½ mile away, N person/creature is a bit closer than that.
You’ve been travelling for about 3 hours and the sun is now high in the sky (midday-ish).
I motion the others to stop. There seems to be a group of something small about a half mile off that way.Pointing to the WNW group. They are traveling in our general direction. There is something else moving over there. Pointing to the north this time. Though it seems to be alone and not really heading this way. All I could see of any is the movement they made in the grass so they are probably not very large. Turning to Doc. Does the path continue the way we've been going?
(Can I tell the number of creatures in the group to the WNW? If so I will have included that in the info shared.)
"It leads far into the...tall grass. I cannot see much else from here. As far as what you've seen, Quil, I would suggest we avoid the lone figure completely."
"It seems like shelly here is afraid." Violet gives a challenging smirk, but cocks her head in a quizzical manner, "Way I see it, why don't we get their attention? After all, this could be 2 birds with 1 stone. 3 if we're luck~"
"Anyone traveling alone through tall grass...is either lost and stupid...or incredibly dangerous," Doc says to Quilqwen. "Either way, I do not wish to trouble myself further by engaging it on our own. I do, however, concur with the sorcerer -- we should attempt to force them into each other's paths. See what becomes of either party."
He then turns to Violet. "And on the contrary -- the only thing I'm afraid of...is expending the majority of my power...trying to save you."

(Estellen will be second to last, unless anyone objects. He's decently perceptive, but is not used to being out and about in the world)

DOC
(As a Tortle, Doc is a natural tracker. He'll take the lead.)
Survival: 7
Violet would like to travel near the front, though not at THE front, taking a casual mood as they travel.

Why is that?

Why would a stone get you birds? Is it shiny?
If I get closer I can try to restrain them with out harming them. Then we could more safely see what or who they are.
"Oooorrr~....We could try to get the big one to run into the small ones so they fight."
