You all look at Yaalin’s idea. It’s possible, but, tricky. With the stairs being through the town, you’d have to make your way through a part of the ruins where you’re hearing all the sounds.
But, you could try to skirt the narrow gaps that circle around from the destroyed gate; the town build to be nestled in this valley as a base to the stairs that ascend to the sky. Glancing over the side, you’d fall hundreds of feet down the cliff if you slipped. The ground already fairly loose, making it likely that someone would perish. (DEX/Acrobatics DC 18). There’s also the fact that it isn’t too far from the town. So navigating would still require a bit of luck and stealth (DEX / Stealth. DC Unknown), before having to rush into the town towards the stairs. And if you were caught, your back would be to the cliff and the top against your assailants.
It could be possible to head back down the mountain and try to hard climb with pitons and rope along the side of it and head up to the summit. Circumventing the town outright. It would put you back a few days to do just that. As straight mountain climbing is much slower than the walkable paths Sim has been guiding you all through.
Yaalin, Lafetha, Sim, Diadochi: You continue to stand around. And wait. Abigail is nowhere in sight. THen it turns into a few more minutes. And then a few more. Another set of whistles echos across the camp. It dawns on you all that the four of you are simply sitting around waiting by the ruins of the gate. In daylight and out in the open.
Abigail: While still tucked behind the house you checked out, about a third of the way through the town, you also hear the whistle. But the way it echos, it makes it tough to figure out exactly where it’s coming from.
Abigail: As you continue to look around, you cross over to around the midpoint in town. More rubble. More houses. One of the houses you peak into has a empty cellar floor. The roof removed, with a large pile of twigs that would burn quite dark. Your best guess, if this was lit, it would act as a signal fire to somewhere else. Either another Hn’ti outpost or something else. Continuing on, a few of the houses have what seem to be root cellars. It’s hard to tell exactly what may be in them, the floors being rather creaky and could draw in the other Hn’ti you’ve seen around beyond the first house. Glancing out, you notice two talking to each other. One is a Hn’ti with deep scars, standing out from the ritual scarification you’ve seen before. Whatever it’s talking to stands a good foot and a half above it. Before you get a good look, something sticking out of a mound catches your eye. Moving closer, you stumble across a very old cemetery. One of the dead having become exposed over time. Resting on it’s torso... a dull chain shirt... made of quite the rare and heavy metal; Adamantine.
Sim uses his survival to see if he can see how many Hn'ti recently came this way or may be in the town. 14 Once he has reviewed the area he will tell the others and then move over and use the ruins of one of the closest houses as cover to not stand out so much.
Sim, you take a look around. Kneeling down and running your hand over the stone that leads through the ruins of the gate. It’s hard to tell how many people, or when the last person who came through here was. But you glance up and look over, seeing how some of the rubble is shifted and moved. You firmly believe this is the main enterence and exit point. And it’s still in use. At least daily by several people.
Taking this into consideration, Sim heads into the town, towards one of the other buildings that could provide some sort of cover and spot to hide. (Sim, give me a DEX / Stealth roll w/disadvantage from your armor).

Yaalin sighs, "the cat takes to long, lets go see what we can see. She will begin to move toward the ruins, Attempting to sneak but moving quickly while doing so, so not doing a great job of it. ((rolling stealth with disadvantage because of speed of movement/lack of care being taken)) Stealth4
Both Sim and Lafetha move and begin to hide. Lafetha notices the figure coming up from behind. A female Hn'ti warrior. Bandages running across her chest and torso, underneath her armor. Slung over her shoulder is a large clay pot, strapped by ropes over her shoulders and around her waist. Not only that, but from further inside the town, there are several different locations of sounds echoing off the stone and the mountain. Probably five other spots where a few people, or creatures, are moving; from a creek of a floor board to the sound of someone mentioning a phrase a bit too loudly, along with whatever daily tasks they do.
She spots Yaalin (and possibly Diadochi?) who had begun to head into the town. Her eyes narrow for a moment before she calls out. Not... too loud. Enough to get their attention. She makes a gesture, the same gesture for 'go / leave' that you all encountered back at their camp. But, she points down the mountain path she is trekking up from. Attached to each of her hands are the silvered claw-gauntlets. Diadochi, you remember removing them. But had left them behind with their armor after breaking their spears and leaving it as a warning. (Although, her scimitar is attached to your hip at the moment.)
Again, in this hushed voice that's just loud enough to reach. She motions for you to head back down. In her eyes there seems to be some kind of... pleading. It's difficult to know if it's from fear from having been defeated by you all, or something else. (Insight check to know more)
Yaalin stops upon hearing the Hn'ti call out. Making no indication that there are others nearby she narrows her eyes and cocks her head at the woman, indicating distrust but curiosity in why the woman wants them gone.

Abigail glances around as if waiting for someone to say, "Hey, that is my chain shirt!" or "Abigail, it is wrong to steal from the dead, especially honorable warriors!"
However, seeing no one around to question her motives... She starts trying to remove the chain shirt from the corpse. Since she is perfectly aware that she should not be doing this, she is going to be rather alert, constantly double checking to make sure no one is coming, or watching her defile this poor dead warrior. Perception - 9
If she is successful with her task:
Valuable chain shirt in-pack, Abigail remember that it has been a while, and she should probably report back to her group. She moves back toward the entrance of the town.
you can see this warrior is still not back to full health. It's clear that she doesn't want to fight. But at the same time, seems to be giving some sense of a 'out.' Trying to repay the mercy given to her and her fellow warriors by not being killed. You see the conflict of a just trade - and what are probably orders to call out right now and summon backup.
Sim....
you can see this warrior is still not back to full health. It's clear that she doesn't want to fight. But at the same time, seems to be giving some sense of a 'out.'
Again, she motions to the path down. Saying that same words again.
Meanwhile... Abigail... you pull on the adamantine chain shirt. It jossling around and the bones moving. As you pull, you knock something over. A few rocks tumbling down which, in a pause, you hear nothing. Just the stillness of the air. Even the two that were conversing away from you seem to have stopped talking. Still, as you look around, you don't see anything, and begin to head back to the others in the group.
Diadochi looks at Yaalin "That was our chance to leave peacefully. I'd wager it was our last one. To be honest I'm beginning to question how much we need this silver apple. But as always I'm with you." Diadochi will stay by Yaalin wherever she goes.
"Dear friend we were hired to get the apple in the first place. The rest is academic. We must complete our contract then track down this goblin king, as if I recall correctly, you signed your name to that. I believe your honor requires both tasks to be completed."
She turns to the Hn'ti woman gestures at herself and Diadochi then points emphatically to the stairway in the distance, "must go there, no choice" She will shake her head and begin to move towards the town again. ((she wants to be done with the required tasks so she can indulge her curiosity))
The Hn'ti woman sighs in frustration. As Yaalin begins to walk away, she walks over to the side of the stone path she was on. She kneels down. Beginning to undo the ropes of whatever she was carrying. There's a glance between her and Diadochi. It's a cross between acknowledgement of what is to soon happen. And that of.. a head start? Giving just enough of a chance for you all to head inside? It'll clearly take her a moment to remove the article from it's harness. She does reach into it while undoing it. Pulling out some white-hawk meat that's been fermenting for probably the better part of a few months. It. Smells. Vile. She takes a slow bite, sitting down and looking up into the sky.
Yaalin and Diadochi head into the town. Lafetha and Sim following suit, trying their best to stay hidden along the way. It takes a few minutes, but you do reach Abigail. Finding a spot to meet back up, and have a brief moment in the silence of the town. About a third of the way into town, behind some still standing buildings and next to a few piles of rubble. After a moment to exchange some words, the quiet sounds of that same Hn'ti warrior come from behind.
Heads turn, as shifts. Face becoming feline. The silvered claws seeming to morph with her, becoming a part of her form, rather than simply something she was wearing.
Round 1 (Begin)
Setup: The injured Hn'ti warrior you all encountered once before has followed you. And stands about 40 feet away, having just shifted. She does not appear to have called out, or have come with any backup. But with as quiet as this place is, the sounds of the combat that will begin to ring out will be quite noticeable. Two stone houses, about 10 feet tall, are within 10 feet of the group that could be climbed (move action. Athletics/STR DC 10.) Lafetha and Sim are both have stealth, gaining advantage on their first attack.

Diadochi says "yes I know I agreed to it, So we have to get it, I just wish we had an agreement to go somewhere nicer, and less morally complex. Next job we do should be on a tropical paradise somewhere and we have to kill a roving band of puppy kickers." He turn to the Hn'ti and almost under his breathe he says "please leave, please leave, please leave." It becomes obvious that fight will break out. "We don't know how many there are. Backs against the wall, so they can't flank us." Diadochi will go agaisnt the wall next to Yaalin, unless Yaalin goes first and goes somewhere else."
