The fog begins to play with both Abigail and Diadochi. Loosing sight of each other. Seeing something move. A game of cat and mouse begins between them before a brief reprieve from the fog comes. Minutes later though. A strong wind coming through rather suddenly; shifting the fog away, but only for another moment.
(Abigail and/or Diadochi, you can use your action to roll Perception/WIS if you want. Or do so something else.)
Down in the pit, Yaalin begins to chant. The multi-colored threads weaving through her shell to her hands and then out to those around. Stitching wounds closed and revitalizing the injured trio down in the pit.
(Because this spell took 10 minutes to cast; Lafetha and Sim, give me a Athletics STR roll with Advantage to help make a clearing of spikes, or, a Investigation/INT roll with Advantage to search through the bones to find anything of value.)
As the weave and patterns of magic fade from Yaalin... you’re all still in the same situation. Three of you down in the pit. Diadochi up at the top, now with a rope. Diadochi looks around to find something to connect the rope too. But the biggest thing out here happens to be himself, unless tying off the rope with some pitons You could hammer into the ground (Abigail has some in inventory). Abigail looking around but not able to figure out what the sounds were, or even if they were real.
During the 10 minutes or so it takes Yaalin to cast, Sim looks around and finds a few curious things scattered among the bones. Looking further, several small rodent tunnels line the dirt and stone. Brushing some of it away, finds a few vials that appear to have been hidden inside.
Abigail and Diadochi look around. The air around them still. There's sounds of shifting rocks and other small things, but nothing visible to them. The fog eventually begins to roll back in. (Abigail and/or Diadochi can make a STR/Athletics roll to pull up each person. Assuming one of you is assisting, roll with advantage. DC 10 or you drop them back into the pit and spikes)
Lafetha feels the life come back into her body, and she thanks Yaalin. To Sim and Yaalin, "we need to move these spikes out of the way so they don't pay us anymore than what that already have. acrobatics14
Diadochi pulls up Yaalin 21. And then Pulls up Lafetha 19. And then pulls up Sim 20. If the bring up one of the spears Diadochi will try to use his wood carving skill to try to glean any knowledge from the spears ((clearly made by tiny goblin sized hands, whittled with rough knives made of stone, also rolling woodcarving prof+ wis)) 19

Diadochi and Abigail pull everyone out over the course of a few minutes, their friends still suffering from whatever poison was on the spears. Diadochi takes a look at them; they're study, and solid. Very well maintained, despite their simplistic design. But they weren't designed as weapons, simply to be a part of the trap. It does make figuring out details about who or what made it rather difficult.
DM Rolls:
Attack: 14 Damage: 4
Through the fog, a arrow strikes Diadochi but cracks on his armor before falling to the ground. Something is out there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Abigail yells out in glorious vindication, "Ah, ha! I knew we were being ambushed - I just credited them for being a more intelligent foe! Now these invalid ambushers will suffer dearly for their delay! Diadochi, protect our wounded, I shall see what I can do about our reluctant combatants."
Abigail is going to try and see if she can figure out which direction the arrow came from, if she can:
Perception: 24 / Investigation: 8 <-- Not sure which one I need for figuring out where the arrow came from, and which one I need to use going into the mist...
Abigail will try to use the poor visibility to her advantage in moving toward the direction the arrow came from - Stealth: 19

Diadochi calls out "Hello there, I have found your arrow, Madam... or sir. If we have trespassed I assure you that was not our intent. If you could tell us what we've done to offend you so we could avoid it in the future we can leave amicably." Persuasion10 He looks at Abigail " If they are hostile I need to stay here to protect our friends. I know directions aren't your style old girl, but please take to the shadows. If they reveal themselves to be enemies I need you to flank them. Shock and awe, just your style." Diadochi indicates to the rest of the team that he wants them behind him and close, preferably with some sort of cover at their rears. First attack against them get's disadvantage.
Abigail - you're able to loosely discern where the arrow came from. But it had a high arc to it. Whoever the shooter is probably is at quite the distance. Having fog that obscures more than 10 feet in front of you is not helping either. Still, with the fact they missed on their shot and more arrows aren't reigning down, the mist could be good for you as well. Able to hide easier while keeping a lookout where your friends should be. Until they move at least.
Diadochi - silence. Not a sound returns your call. There are sounds of a few rocks that fall. Could be a misstep. Could be some kind of creature, or just the wind. The echos playing the sound from multiple directions. There's a faint scent in the air. Your trunk picking it up, the faint smell of Hn'ti.
(Combat has not yet broken out, but, please give me initiative rolls in case it does.)

Sim sighs as he sees the arrow hit Diadochi and drop to the ground. Then he bends and picks up the arrow putting it in his quiver. "We should move along before this fog clears enough for them to see us and attack in full. Unless they were already ahead or above they can't have passed us yet."

Round 1 (Start)
Setup: A heavy fog surrounds all that you can see, making vision past 10 feet extremely difficult. You know there's a large trap that's 20 feet deep somewhere in the mist that's close by. Diadochi stands infront of Sim, Lafetha and Yaalin. Abigail is slightly off to the side, saving slinked into the mist. Abigail spots four Hn'ti through the mists. Three in their tribal gear. One moving faster than she can react, it already having shifted into a bestial form. Black fur covering her body and a more panther face compared to the flat faces of the others. Yaalin, seeing the blade coming out of the mist at Diadochi's spell goes off quickly, casting him in light and a reflection of the old world.
Diadochi is now in melee with one of the tribal warriors who's shifted and weilding a blade. The other three have not yet engaged, and are about 10 feet away from Diadochi and crew - but Abigail has a bead of them. (Advantage, as your stealth was successful). Sim, Lafetha, and Yaalin are all still poisoned (disadvantage on attacks & ability checks.. ie skills)
Initiative:
Shifted Hn'Ti (17)
Abigail (14)
Diadochi (11)
Yaalin (11)
Tribal Hn'ti (9)
Sim (3)
Lafetha (?)
Shifted Hn'ti takes two slashes at Diadochi with a scimitar, and tries to rake him with her off hand - a claw that seems to have been tipped in metal: (Readied Reaction)
Diadochi looks at the wound the Hn'ti inflicted on him and then back to the Hn'ti "If this is a trade, you're about to get some profitable returns." Attack: 13 Damage: 8 (nonlethal)
Sim looks at the Hn’ti that comes barreling out of the dark and draws his sword. Stepping around the back of the person attacking Diadochi sim slashes across his back.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lafetha slides behind Sim and Yaalin. She cast Lesser Restoration on Sim, touching his shoulder, hoping that with the poison removed his attacks will be better.
