Sweet. Let's do that so. Now, over to my worrier side :
How far are we expecting to have to travel? The woods look to be a fair bit off the left side of the road, but if they've only been using the trail for a few weeks, it could be a semi-permanent camp not far away; The more permanent it is though the better guarded and fortified it's likely to be, and maybe increases the likelihood of traps, other small goblin forces operating on off-shoot trails to different parts of the road, that kind of thing. Actually, if we find another path branching back towards the road would there be any value in trying to get the jump on another patrol. Might get more information about what we're wandering into? I'm overthinking this, aren't I :D
Once the horses and cart are as far of the road as they can get them Strix sets to work with his hatchet, taking small leafy branches from the not-facing-the-road side of nearby trees to fashion a hide to obscure them from casual observers. He hums the halfling girl's tune as he does this.
When the party is satisfied the horses are hidden, and are ready to move, he falls in at the rear, keeping his eyes open for any unusually large clumps of undergrowth that might hide a trap or a pit, or any branches from this path that might finding their way back difficult.

It's better to overthink than underprepare lol but if they do have a camp, then we'll begin to use stealth as soon as we see any signs of a fortress or camp or anything of the sort.
Asher begins walking behind Dario helping him scout the frontside, while being alert and ready for a goblin ambush at any time.
I don't know if Asher helping Dario look on gives him advantage or lets us both roll perception or anything?
In the event that we both roll here is mine: Of course, if we both do not roll, then ignore the following roll, even if I get a nat 20.
Wow lol I do not want to do anything to that post because then it will say I edited it, but it's a good thing one of the options were to ignore that roll lol
You tie the horses to a secure point far from the road, and cover much of the wagon with branches and leaves; you feel that you've done a good job of hiding the wagon. You set off, with Dario leading, Asher behind, then Scupper, Vaz, Mistweaver and finally Strix. Vaz attempts to indicate to Soodi that they should proceed along the trail together; there is no response for a good ten seconds, then a loud snort, and Soodi sets off at a brisk pace away from you and deeper into the woods; you've no idea where she's going, but Vaz reassures you that this is quite normal and that Soodi will do as she pleases.
You head north; the sun is bright in the sky overhead, but the canopy of leaves creates lots of shade. The trail is wide at times, extremely narrow at others, and most of the time you are forced to remain in single file. You proceed quietly, though not attempting to stealth at this stage - the woods are quiet too, and you occasionally see rabbits and other small wildlife, pretty much as you'd expect.
After about ten minutes on foot, Dario stops abruptly. Dario, you've been keeping a careful eye on the path as well as the surroundings, and you perceive that there is a thread or wire crossing the path directly ahead of you, at a height where most passing humanoids would trip it with their feet.
Dario nods in approval at Strix's work in camouflaging the horses and cart. He then takes the lead point, his long bow and arrow notched. He moves about lightly, his feet barely making an impression on the trail or the foliage that hugs it.
He stops short and motions over Asher and points out the threaded trap. "Looks like someone doesn't want strangers coming up this trail," he whispers to Asher."Should we disarm, or go around it?"
"Good eye Dario," Asher whispers. "Can you see where the thread leads to, in other words, what kind of trap it is? Is it a log trap to kill, or a net trap to capture? If it is a net trap, we could hide, and use an arrow to set off the trap and ambush whatever comes? I highly doubt they would be expecting an ambush. Surely that would diminish numbers on their side and make it easier for us to infiltrate the goblins. Of course, that is all to say that they come tonight at all. Do those captured have time to spare for us to use strategy this way?"
I think it would be the "smarter" move to hide and set the trap off. I just don't know if we have the time to do so. I'll do whatever the group wants to do. If we go around or set the trap off.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dario listens to Asher, nodding along. "If setting the trap off sends a few of the goblins our way then we might have an opportunity to capture one of them. Unless this trap sends them a signal is on the way then we're setting ourselves up for an ambush. Maybe we should first check to see what type of trap we're dealing with," Dario says to Asher. He follows the line to check the trap.
Dario, now that you look closely, you see that this is a trip wire snare trap. Hitting the wire will dislodge a stick and allow a counterweight to drop. You can now see a loop of rope hidden beneath the leaves of the path; if you stepped into the trip wire, the counterweight would pull the snare around your leg and most likely leave you dangling upside down in the air.
"What if the flameboy sets the trap off, using his flame magic from mid-air," Asher explains. "Meanwhile, the rest of us hide and wait for enemies to come before eliminating all of them? But if no one comes within the hour, we carry on following the tracks. We shouldn't waste too much time on this plan, as there are at least two lives at stake."
Dario follows the the trip wire and realizes it's connected to a counterweight and a rope. He motions over to Asher so he sees the same thing.

Dario gets up from kneeling and wipes the leaves and dirt from his legs and listens to Asher. "Not a bad plan. I think we should do it. Just keep in mind, we should try to grab one those greenies for interrogation. And if nothing in an hour we proceed on."
I could manage that, says Vaz, looking at the leaves and the stick. I probably won't burn the forest down. He takes a large swig from his waterskin, sways a little, leaning on a tree trunk, and then backs up about forty feet along the trail. He turns, holds his hands out to the front, and you see a small ball of flame shoot out and hit the stick that was holding back the counterweight; with a snap, the counterweight falls and the loop of rope is snatched from the ground and now dangles ten feet above the path. The leaves where the trap had been are now on fire; shit shit shit, says Vaz, and he silently traces shapes in the air; the flames die down and the leaves are no longer burning. With that, he ducks off the path.

Asher removes his heavy armor, leaving only his kimono. He hides his heavy armor underneath some bushes and throws some dirt over it. I don't know if I need a check for that: 10 let me know what kind of check it is and I can provide relevant modifiers.
OCC: I did that because I already have -1 to stealth and heavy armor gives me disadvantage.
Asher goes to hide in the bushes roughly 20-25 feet away, obscured by bushes, from where Vaz is hanging.
DM, just so you know: Without my heavy armor, my AC is 9. But I'm not worried :) so far the stealth rolls have been good. We just need Strix and Scupper to roll, and then if everything goes well, we will have that surprise round and I think we could eliminate the group before any of us take damage. I wanted to wager on that result, than risk a bad stealth roll for the plan.
Mistweaver, Vaz and Asher seem to be well hidden, as far as any of you can tell.
There's no check required to remove armour and hide it, but it does take time; we'll say that you did this before Vaz fired his spell, and that someone helped you; that would get it down to two and a half minutes to take it off. It will take a full ten minutes to put it back on.

I'm fine with Nunberry's plan.
Asher has a +3 to Perception if we want to use it.

I am with Nunberry's plan too. Dario can take the lead, he has a +4 to Perception.
Also, I think the best bet is to try to conceal the cart as much as possible in the brush and cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Can they maneuver around the trap?
Dario, yes, you could all make it around the trap fairly easily; it would be slow and a little noisy, but not excessively so.
"Good eye Dario," Asher whispers. "Can you see where the thread leads to, in other words, what kind of trap it is? Is it a log trap to kill, or a net trap to capture? Everyone who's planning on remaining within 60 feet of the trap, please make a stealth check, and give me an idea of where you are in relation to it.
