You can move half speed to climb and take an action, but you will need to keep at least one hand on the rope but it takes 2 hands free to move.
So you could move half speed (both hands) and then draw a sword and attack but then next turn you could not both stow the weapon, move, and then draw again to fight. You would not be able to use any two-handed weapons or both a shield and a one handed weapon.
OoC: Are the others on the rope with Keyleth already? Or did the gargoyles attack before others started? Wondering about adjacency for sneak attack purposes
Timber has a natural climbing speed so he can move his whole speed with no check needed. So a dash for him would be double speed.
Keyleth was 15 feet down the rope when the gargoyles moved to attack unless you dashed, the 35. The rest of the party are up on the ledge yet. You'll need to go down the rope 1 at a time.
One gargoyle is within 5 feet from Keyleth, the other is within 5 feet of the party members on the ledge.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Keyleth pulls out her magic serpent tongue dagger, holding dearly onto the rope with her other hand. She pauses a moment to take in the gargoyle's movement patterns (Insightful fighting: 12) before stabbing across her body at the creature.
Attack: 12 Damage: 18
(if the gargoyle meets or exceeds K's insight check w/ a deception check, then she does not get the 3d6 sneak attack dmg -- even though the attack presumably misses, it should still make the deception check, since the benefit would carry over)
(This first part is a reaction from being attacked and missed)
As the second gargoyle attempts to strike Ransyl, he deflects the attack with his shield (riposte) and slashes at it with his battle axe.
Attack: 14 Damage: 10
Superiority Damage if hit (riposte): 7
(This is if needed after Dr A’s attack)
He slashes at the second gargoyle two more times, goading it away from the others, “Come on you filthy pile of rocks! Come and get me!” (Goading Attack - When you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to add the total to the damage roll and the target must make a WIS saving throw (DC 13). On failure, the target has disadvantage on all attack rolls against targets other than you until the end of your next turn.)
Dr A turns to one of the gargoyles “by the power of Mystra vested in me I command you to go away, to scat, to begone and no longer trouble us” as he shows the stars of Mystra tattooed on his palm to the gargoyle. (OOC Arcane Abjuration - DC14 Wis)
The fighter, watches the first gargoyle spiral down to its demise, then shifts his focus to the other creature and fires another two arrows at it, glad that Keyleth is safe on the rope.
Like a child playing around, Timber climbs down next to the group with a big grin on his face. "Don't worry about me Doc, I am having a blast but if the others might want the help as well."

“Ooff!” as he hits the ground. Ransyl slowly gets up, dusting himself off. He closes his eyes, breathing in deeply, regaining a second wind, and feeling by a little better.

As Timber spots the gargoyles, "Such nasty creatures, those gargoyles."

Too much editing in one post and the rolls got messed up, but the narrative and results recorded are correct
(If it gets to be Kirinar's turn again...)
The fighter, watches the first gargoyle spiral down to its demise, then shifts his focus to the other creature and fires another two arrows at it, glad that Keyleth is safe on the rope.
Attack 1: 18 Damage: 9
Attack 2: 18 Damage: 9
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
Timber hurls another ball of energy at the gargoyle.
Attack: 10 Damage: 14
As the attack hits, frost grows over the gargoyles stoney hide.
Timber strikes the gargoyle and it's limbs seem to freeze as it once again becomes inanimate and falls over dead.
Keyleth is 15 feet down the rope and finishes her descent safely.
The rest of party must still get down.
DC10 acrobatics or athletics roll.
Artus speaks up.
"Dr A, perhaps you could cast the spell again, guidance, I believe it is. I do not wish to die by falling off of this cliff."
Like a child playing around, Timber climbs down next to the group with a big grin on his face. "Don't worry about me Doc, I am having a blast but if the others might want the help as well."
Dr A casts Guidance on Artus before attempting to descend the rope 5
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Ransyl waits his turn, and then attempts his descent.

As Dr A moves to make his descent he begins to slip on the rope.
How far down does he get before he slips 10
Fortunately for him he is only 10 feet from the ground when he falls and he takes 4 in damage when he hits the ground.
Ransyl also attempts to climb but he also has difficulty. He makes it 10 before he falls
30 feet above the ground his hands let go and he takes 9 damage when he lands.
Timber quickly descends without any issues, his natural talent in climbing serving him well.
Artus then makes his descent 16
and makes it safely to the bottom.
Kirinar now stands at the top, alone
“Ooff!” as he hits the ground. Ransyl slowly gets up, dusting himself off. He closes his eyes, breathing in deeply, regaining a second wind, and feeling by a little better.
