Seeing nothing of terrible interest in the room you continue to the east and find a corridor that runs north and south and seems to curve up and out of sight going both north and south, but with no rails or steps to allow them to be climbed. The corpse of a half-human, half-goat creature in robes sprawls ten feet to the north. It grips a staff tipped with a bronze goat’s head.
You easily reach the body. An inspection of his remains reveals that he was killed by wounds from axes and crossbow bolts. His ink-stained robes contain a journal that hints at the tomb’s mysteries. Earlier entries chronicle the exploits of the Company of the Yellow Banner in Chult. The company made landfall at Kitcher’s Inlet and followed the River Olung to Lake Luo before cutting southwest into the jungle toward Omu. The journal describes harrowing encounters, the adventurers’ search for puzzle cubes in Omu, their brushes with the yuan-ti, and the discovery of the true tomb entrance. Only the final entry mentions their experiences in the tomb,
A search of Devlin’s body also turns up an ink pot that never runs dry and a spellbook containing the following spells:
"Ahbut not that I need to collect any more staffs but the staff this creature mentioned may be of use"Dr A says looking around for a staff or something that could be disguised as one (Perception = 28)
Kirinar picks up the staff tipped with the bronzer goat head that the creature was holding and says, "You mean this one? Can you identify its magical properties like you did for that serpent staff?"
“Ahbut I’m getting blind in my old age”Dr A mutters “that would be the one. As to its powers that may take some time.” He continues almost as if he is talking to himself "ahbut in all my travels I have never seen a half-human, half-goat creature I wonder how it came to be?" He then turns to the rest of the party "did any of you hear of this Company of the Yellow Banner when you were in Port Nyanzaru, or anywhere else for that matter? The name is not familiar to me! I wonder what they were after?"
As you discuss whether you have you have heard of the Company of the Yellow Banner before (you have not) you continue down the hallway. Looking into the next you room you notice that this room smells of wine. On a checkerboard marble floor, a gilded coffin sparkles in sunlight streaming down from the chamber’s vaulted ceiling, which arches twelve feet overhead. Four huge stone gargoyle heads, their mouths agape, protrude from the walls.
Keyleth, ever watchful, notices that there is a stone block in the ceiling in front of the entryway into the room and looks like it would seal the room if it came down.
"...the dead abhor sunlight..." Kirinar mutters when he sees the checkerboard floor and sunlight streaming through. "Yeah - this definitely looks like a puzzle trap room."(Does the sunlight strike any particular tiles/areas?)
"Watch out, there's a block that might seal us in," Keyleth cautions. "Anybody have anything they can put beneath it that might be strong enough to keep it from closing all the way? Also, where is that sunlight coming from? Aren't we on the second level underground?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Maybe we can use the two magic staffs to keep the block from sealing us in - one on either side of the doorway? Aren't they hard to break?" Kirinar suggests. still looking around the room for indications of safe or trapped areas.

"Ahbut I'm truly unaware of exactly how strong these staffs are but I suspect not much than a piece of wood of similar diameter?" Dr A replies
Keyleth backs out into the hallway. "Quick, let's see if the spears hold. If so maybe we can explore in there; if not, I'd rather miss a room than be trapped inside"
Ransyl fits the spear into the space below the descending stone. At first he thinks it will hold as the stone slows for a moment, but the stone is far to heavy and a moment later the spear snaps in half and the stone seals the room off.
Try as you might, the stone will not move at all.
With nowhere else to go you back track down the hallway and examine the only remaining door before deciding to try and open it or continue descending the stairs
Three oval holes are carved into a nine-foot-wide, nine-foot-high stone door at human head height. As you approach, three humanoid heads stick out of the holes, each covered in putrid flesh and gnashing on an iron bit bolted to a chain bridle.
"Well that's disturbing..." Kirinar says under his breath. "I wonder if they understand us, or are just some sort of macabre doorbell...? Creatures! What lies beyond this door, and how can we get past it?"

No
“Perhaps the sunlight refers to the light tiles?” Ransyl scratches at his beard.
"Watch out, there's a block that might seal us in," Keyleth cautions. "Anybody have anything they can put beneath it that might be strong enough to keep it from closing all the way? Also, where is that sunlight coming from? Aren't we on the second level underground?"

“Perhaps we could use my spear to keep it propped open.” Ransyl unstraps the spear and holds it out.
As you stand there, contemplating what to do you hear a grinding noise above you and the stone block in the ceiling begins to slowly descend.
In or out? Do you quickly enter the room or move back out of the way and allow the stone block to seal off the room?
Kirinar quickly moves to get out of the room. "Get out! The trap is sprung!"

From the hallway, Ransyl adjusts the spear to find the best angle to hold the stone.
