Hey Barnaby, don't forget that alchemist's fire, might be good for burning this whole ***** down or at least dropping down the stairs if we make it that far
You all make it up to the basement level, just a hair in front of the pursuing beast. Its roars carry up the stairwell as it reaches the landing.
It's making its way through the stairwell surprisingly nimbly. But you're still ahead of it, if you keep going!
Panting, you reach the base of the stairwell before it could catch up. You did manage to pull away, near the end, but if you're curious to see I've left you all on the map in (essentially) the final position if you kept dashing. This is what it looks like with you guys to move.
Panting, you reach the stairwell. You've all used Dash 3 or more times (please correct me if I'm wrong) in the escape from the room and in the flight through the basement, during which I used 2 for each of you. Starting you guys each at 3, that means you each have 2 more uses before we need CON saves against a DC 10.
Everybody give me a Perception check, now that you're at the bottom of the stairs to the attic.
Kif, and whoever else rolls a 14 or higher, feels and hears the house above you. You hear metal and wood twisting and rending; you hear glass shattering. Dust is settling from the walls and the ceiling above you, and you feel the very stairs beneath you trembling.
You missed. It may or may not bring you comfort that the thing looked pretty much as mad as ever, and more than healthy enough to keep fighting for awhile.
You race up the narrow circular staircase. As you near the top, those of you touching the walls or the railing realize there are tiny spiders creeping onto your hands. You shake them off, and burst into the room at the top. The light that had been bleeding through the curtains before you descended is now gone; the windows are all bricked up.
With your high perception checks, you immediately see two giant spiders, coming to kill you!

Was Føpé able to get any more shots in? He can use dash as a bonus action.

Does Føpé hear or see anything regarding pursuit? Perception: 7
If possible, Føpé closed the secret door behind him.
You would all hear it if it was pounding up the stairs, but you hear nothing from that direction.
To Barnaby, I don't hear anything yet.
Fat swampy bastard probably doesn't fit up the stairs. seems like we have more pressing concerns in front of us anyway
well when it's my turn I swing for the rafters on the one to the north of me 26 if that should hit 10 damage
