Tanirall finally chimes in “If you think you can keep that little pipsqueak quiet, then I’m for the ventilation shaft. It’ll be nice to have him out of my hair and having a scout. Those of us outside that cannot fit can stay posted around as lookouts or otherwise generally surveying the area.” He looks over at Maya “That hidden jetty could be checked on later after we find Kwon.” Now addressing Zansnut “Zansnut, you have the most experience in this situation, I’ll follow your lead this time.” Tanirall nods in his direction, acknowledging his superiority in this situation.

"I also think we are going to need to disguise as miners of the appropriate race. We know the mine employs humans and dwarfs." Zansnut shudders at the thought dressing as a dwarf. Though such a large group has not put this level of trust in him before and he didn't want to let them down. "The disguises should allow us to blend in with the workers a bit better once we get in." He responded to Tanriel, "I'm sure Fleming was only talkative to be casual. I have confidence that he will be a little quieter on a stealth mission" At least Zansnit hoped he would.
OOC- What check would I roll to use disguise kit? Also my race can reroll a 1 but the site adds the roll and modifier together so how would I know if I need to reroll? Should I just subtract modifier off and if it is a 1 edit post and create a new roll.
“Why be dwarf? Dwarf isn’t made by the clothes that he wears... it’s from the big beards and short legs! Round fellas that like to drink. If you want to look like a miner, well we do already have the equipment, yes? If we are that worried about being detected, maybe we go at the changing of the guards. They will be preoccupied and more vulnerable.”
Allistar looks over to Zansit with a grin.
“ I say we go, be sneaky if we want, if anyone asks questions, it’s just business and we go on our way. I can be very persuasive, yes?”
"None of us are humans or dwarves. This mine employs two shifts of humans from the village and one shift of dwarves. At least that is what we were told on the ship. We can dress as miners but we don't match the races employed. If I were Bazili I would be very curious to know why a random group of diverse races all of a sudden started to work in the mine. Of course this only matters if we come in contact with anyone in charge. Due to our size Flemig and I will better disguise as Dwarves even though I despise that. The rest of you would probably make convincing humans with the exception of Tanriel which would be better suited if someone had some kind of illusion." Without a pre-worked story why they were in the mine Zansnut's only plan of safety was hoping they would blend in with the populace. "This way if the ventilation is too small we could probably wait until shift change and all of you can just walk in assuming everyone is well disguised."
Zansnut returned Allistar's grin. "I am less worried getting caught going in and more worried about not being detected while we are in there."
Khlöe pinches the bridge of her nose as she can't help but to be paranoid about Bazili been informed of the groups arrival already, after all walking into a town facing mishaps in broad daylight tended to churn out all kinds of rumors with the locals, and rumors made people nosy. "In terms of detection, Bazili might have already been informed by now. A man like him is likely to have eyes and ears all over the town. If not, well locals facing mishaps can be a nosy and distrustful bunch, word will get around fast, very fast" Looking at group she lets a sly smile slip into her face "Zansnut daylight infiltration will work in our favor in more ways than one, after all lets not forgot we have been informed the dwarfs working the night shift haven't been seen by anyone. The human miners already tired and with testy eyesight likely wouldn't recognize if let say, two 'dwarfs' were showing interested investors and their guards around the area, or whatever plan we have to get everyone else in. "
OCC: Looks like majority is move vent shaft in the daylight.
A twisting narrow road, deeply rutted in the places where the surface is not stony, climbs the grassy slopes above the village of Darkshelf. A line of rocky bluffs crowns the slope, and corpses of trees dot the landscape. After a league the turf gives way to the foot of the bluffs and the road splits. One branch levels out and runs to the quarry pit; the second branch turns and climbs sharply toward the guardhouse. Although the term 'guardhouse' belittles to two story stone structure, which is really more of a small fortress.
At the split you leave the road, keeping the terrain and the trees between you and the guardhouse as much as possible. Arriving at the top of a hill above the mine, you begin your search for the ventilation shaft. It takes you another hour of searching to finally find the shaft. Hidden inside a brambles, and trees are two weathered stones. It is easy to see we they were referred to as the 'weeping daughters' for they look like two crude ancient, carved stones of girls on their knees with their heads bowed. Not far from this is what looks like an abandoned well. A low wall of stones outline a 5 ft. diameter hole leading down. The shaft is lined with rough, lichen covered stones.
Flemig surveys the weathered stones, trying hard to recall some piece of history he may have heard about them in the past, or magical knowledge he has of them.

Maya would walk up to accompany Flemig by the weathered stones, giving him space to survey. “What are your thoughts Flemig?” She’d crouch down to take a look with him, curious if she could help him with the investigation of these status.
Legend has it in the time of the Crown Wars, twin elven princesses escaped their captors and prayed to the elven god Rillifane Rallathil for deliverance. In response he turned them to stone, thus they escaped for all time.

Zansnu notices Flemig looking closely at something. "Did you spot anything of interest?" He took a look at the shaft as well. Though with his natural suspicion he chose to look for a trap. As much as he hated to say it Flemig was right earlier. This place should be guarded, the fact that it wasn't made him suspicious.

When he was done looking at the shaft he asked the party, "everyone sure they don't want disguises? Probably won't get a chance when we are down there." He then stepped away from the hole and pulled out his disguise kit. He began the process of turning himself in to a dirty dwarf starting with the beard.
Looking down, you can see that even though the stones are rough and present good places to hold, the lichen is likely to make an unassisted descent dangerous.
Erevan bends and picks up a rock from the floor around the shaft, tossing it up a few times to test its weight. "This'll do. Let's see if there's anything waiting to catch us out down there." He leans over the entrance to the shaft and drops the rock, waiting to see what happens. "At least the shaft looks big enough for us all to go down if it comes to that!"
Flemig says "If we need to, I can call on my magics to lower us down the well. I should be able to set us down gently on the bottom of the well, assuming there is one, as light as a feather. However, the magic will only be strong enough to accommodate 5 of us at a time."
"And if anyone is wondering, that is NOT the spell that went bad during the unfortunate incident with my master. I'm nearly positive I can control this one!!"

Maya would stand back up, turning towards Zansnut. She couldn’t help but look down at her hands, her skin shining a soft blue where the sun hits it. She’d adjust her hood to ensure it was covering her pointed ears and then tug her sleeves down further to cover her hands, “My silhouette may pass as a human, but that’s about it.” Maya would look at Zansnut, then to the ventilation entrance, “Do we know who can fit?” She’d slowly tip toe her way over to the entrance to investigate.

Khlöe is at the back of the group not looking at the ventilation shaft itself but rather looking at the surroundings trying to see if there has been any sort of indication that anyone has been here at some point besides the group, if there's any large-ish creature prints of serpentine/lizard nature. Anything she might find she'll point it out the group.

"I think we should leave something to get back up just in case. I'm not sure how long we might be down there and having a secondary escape route just in case will come in handy." After hearing the rock drop down Khlöe looks down at the vent then at Erevan with a slight grin "Ah, the cushioning sound of metal and rock to fall into."
"If we are all going down together I do have a few suggestions. Flemig says he can keep us from dying from a drop. As such he should probably be fourth to go down. It would allow him to be equal distance from all of us. My second suggestion is Tanriel goes first since he is the largest for two reasons. The first reason is I don't want someone falling on us that can crush us on the way down and the second if we do fall and Flemig's spell does misfire he might have enough strength to catch us or block the fall." Zansnut was stroking the fake beard as he spoke, "Finally I would like to go down last. If someone happens on this area while we are going down I can hide pretty easily and as a dwarf I can pretend I discovered this scene. A dagger to the throat would keep our plan secure."
He gave Khloe a nod liking the way she thought. Leaving a rope to get back up was a good idea.
“Would we like some light down there? I can produce light. I can light up the end of the rope or maybe something on whomever goes down.” Allistar says looking down the hole. I know it’s not so sneaky sneaky, but it’s better that we know what’s down there. Yes?”
Tanirall begins to silently find a spot to secure a rope. After finding a suitable place, he’ll sit by the edge of the shaft awaiting the party’s decision
