“So someone was chasing a gnome, who was coming here, to our tavern, when all of that madness went down? This is getting complicated. Hello, Mr Blastwind,” Briga greets the officer. “Yes, we are the tavern owners, and these women were in the tavern with us when the blast happened, they helped us with aiding the wounded on the street afterward.”
Mairi couldn't take it. As soon as details began been laid out in regards to the incident, the woman had taken to writing everything down while off to the side. It takes a minute without being directly addressed afterwards, but Mairi eventually looks up, seeming confused. "... O-oh, yes! That'd be me! And tell me, did you find any mechanical parts strewn about the area by any chance?"

"I heard someone say there were being a construct involved," whispers Tyrus to Briga. "They be having mechanical parts... But I didn't be seeing anything like that outside. Did you?"

"I also found a young boy who had that necklace there." Saralyssa says, nodding to the one she handed over already. "Said it fell into a bucket of water near him just after the fireball went off."
“I didn’t, but if a construct is a thing made of mechanical parts, then we’ve got a pretty unique suspect to go after,” Briga says. “I mean, even in a big town like Waterdeep, it’s not like you go around bumping into mechanical men and stuff.”
Cromley sighs and says "usually, that is true. But with the sea maiden's fayre in a couple of months, three ships from Luskan have arrived, they have construct servants and performers for their parade they do at the start of the year." Cromley says as he nods. "I will be honest with you" Barnibus says. "I highly doubt you would cause an explosion outside your own place of work, it would be... detrimental for business. But I do have one or two questions. It seems this gnome was on his way here, do any of you know him?" he asks.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mairi had nodded along, adding more to her notes. At the mention of a gnome(again?), the freelancer becomes pensive for a few moments, then shook her head. "I doubt it's my father, and I don't really know any other gnomes."She glances over to Saralyssa, and with a smirk, looks back to Cromley, thumbing Sara's direction. "'cept this one, and only just... Th-that's not to shift blame of course! J-just stating a... uhm... Sooo, these ship owners should be gently question. That, or... hmm...I think... there maybe one other place to inquire?"
Religion: 9(if history +5, but this is gauge if she knows a deity or order in town that also specializes in constructs).
"I did not look at the gnome as of yet." Saralyssa speaks up. "I can take a look to see if I recognize him, but don't know of anyone who might be seeking me out here..."
At the mention of gnomes, Tyrus wonders briefly what his old mentor is up to back in Balder's Gate. Then he goes to the bar and gets himself a beer (putting 4 cps in the till) and then sits himself down at a table to listen in as the others talk about what has happened.

“Construct servants for a parade? Well that seems like a lead to follow up on, for sure,” Briga says. “Aside from Sara here, who we met today, the only gnome I’ve encountered in the past few years was a bounty, some goof running a scheme where he pretended to be a masked lord to run some kind of a con on local business owners. I don’t have any gnome acquaintances, excepting my new friend here, if Sara will allow me to be so bold.” Briga smiles a toothy grin at Sara and Mairi.
"A lead, yes, a lead that WE will follow, not you." Barnibus says "The Watch asked for the City of Magists and Protectors, not the Order of the Guantlet, for assistance," he says with a sneer. "Besides, it would introduce too many new variables into an already confunding equation, we shall head to the dock ward and investigate," Barnibus says. "Trust in the Watch," Cromley adds, dismissively, before they both walk out.
If your from Waterdeep:
If you have been in Waterdeep during fall, the day of wonders parade is sponsered by the local temple of Gond. The Sea Maidens Faire come by sea each fall to provide performers and floats for the parade, but are not the only ones to do so.
"Hardly."Mairi muttered and snorts. "They're just putting on airs. Otherwise, this whole mess between the Zhents and X-men would be done 'n over with." She comments once they left, before sighing and shaking her head. "Not to say their incompetent. But with them being so wound up in restrictions, by the time they figure out whatever's going on, it'll too late. Which brings me to another point-..." She looks to the others with a sly grin. "We're not sitting back, are? 'cause if we ain't, I say we visit the temple of Gond. Even if our rogue construct isn't work'n for 'em, we could get some clues on tracking one down easier from them then some outsiders with only so much stack in Waterdeep."

"Well, it's called a temple. But by my recollection, it's more like a... well, you'll see. Been a while since I myself have had cause to visit the place. But trust me. If anyone in town know their construct, it'd be followers of the god of invention and gnomes, or so Pops once explained it is." Mairi replied.

“Mairi is right, Sarah. I did bounty hunting in this city for a while before I became an adventurer, and there’s a reason the watch has to take on contract work,” Briga says. “I agree, we should look into this ourselves. All of us, if you’re game. I won’t repeat me speech about heroes and fate and all, but you probably remember it.”
“I’m not super well versed on all the gods and temples. Why Gond in particular?”
Mairi raises a brow for a second. Then seeming to remember something "ahs" and nods to herself. "Well, as the God of Invention, constructs kind of fall under his purview. As yer... uh... how did he put it... 'to invent, one must breathe life into an idea or concept, unlocking a part or... er...." He clicks her tongue. "Jeeze, it's been some years... uh... unlocking... a part of something, or creating something... not seen... yet -- Pops -- like, I'm a follower of Oghma, and even I have trouble understanding their 'tag line', if you would. But just trust me on this one. I've lived in Waterdeep for, well, most of my life. I can't recall a single other sources within it that wouldn't have their fingers like those folk there. So, once the blockade is done, I can probably lead you all to the temple."

“Count me in. Let’s grab our things and head there as soon as we can. Since we are still pretty clueless what this is all about, be ready for trouble. Someone might not want us picking up on their trail, and they’ve already showed that they don’t mind violence and they don’t care if innocents get caught in the middle,” Briga says.
