Well, if its its been 10 minutes, then it would not make sense to Jal. The spider would also you be faster than fire, usually. He would investigate the broom.

Jal peers at the broom very closely, up and down, and spots something: something tiny, and moving. He leans in closer: it is a tiny, halfling-like creature clambering up its side the size of an ant! (Specifically, if you haven't figured it out, it's Erik!)
Jal hasn't detected Ignis, Soar or Asmodai (who are up on top of the bookcase), nor Ripi (who I believe is still at the warding circle). Ignis throws a dagger at Jal, which hits, but it's so small in comparison to the half-elf that he doesn't feel a thing.
If Jal is close enough to the bookcase to see us, (which I'm thinking he is to be able to see us), Asmodai will jump at his face, trying to grab onto anything he can.

Jal's attention is brought to the "ANTIDOTE" message by a thunderous smite on the bookshelf.
Asmodai tries to jump at Jal's face but he is just too far to reach, he lands safely back down on top of he bookshelf.
Jal alerts the Professor that he has found the shrunken heroes (well, four of them) and asks for the antidote; the Professor hands Jal a dropper filled with liquid from the green potion vial on his desk. "Careful now, just a bit, don't drown them with it!"
There is nothing flammable near Ripi, the closest would be the books scattered on the floor.
Ripi runs over to the broom, but can't quite climb it; luckily Jal is looking around carefully where he steps and happens to spot the diminutive warforged.
Soar will take a gulp of antidote and then try to slide down the side of the bookshelf the minute she feels something happen. If it doesn't work, she'll start attacking books with her warhammer.
If it works and she gets big, she'll try not to break anything underfoot. She'll try to test if she feels stronger at all. If she doesn't feel anything, she will narrow her eyes and make some threatening gestures with her warhammer at the professor. "You.... are not very good at potions. We almost got killed by spiders and whatever else you have in here. We shrunk. I'm expecting triple payment to make this worth my while."
Asmodai will also drink the antidote. He will start to climb down the front of the bookcase, and when he feels himself growing will then let go of the bookcase and hoping to grow and "fall" into place next to Jal. He will glare at the professor and say, "That was some experiment there professor. It was not fun, however. I do hope you compensate very well for this experiment."

"I'm so sorry, this isn't at all what happened in the animal models. I guess that's why we have to do humanoid trials! Please don't let the Committee know about this; I'll double your compensation to 100 gold each! And, if you're interested, I believe I could dilute the potion, if my calculations are correct it would still give you a boost to your strength, while only shrinking you by about a half! What do you say, are you interested?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Asmodai, will tell the professor, "I will accept your "fixed" bottle of this potion, but what can you do to make it not shrink people? Also, I was almost eaten by a spider, and almost engulfed in flames for being so small. Is there any way, that you my esteemed professor, can up the ante on that 100 gold? Maybe up it to 125?"

(Knowing that he is moving up) Jal looks up along the broom and across what it is against, which is probably the bookshelf.

Can Jal see the letterings? If so he asks the Professor, "Where is the antidote? I think I see them here. I was going to give it to them."
