Charmine from the front door walks to the table whilst they are still eating.
After you're done let's go, shall we. I'll be waiting by the front door.
With that he goes outside basking in the sun by the front door. He patiently waits for the others, since being a lookout is all about waiting and starts counting from one to pass the time.
@sfeldman: have thought about crossbow, as your character is proficient with them Feng would know how to care for them, so I’ll just assume he keeps releasing the tension on the crossbow every so often. From what I can tell, they’re designed to be held longer than a normal bow would be. I think we’re all ready to set off so...)
Eventually the group in the Common Hall finishes their meals and heads out towards the front gate, where Charmine is waiting for them. As they reach it, an androgynous-looking tiefling with long black hair, much of which covers their face, seems to step out of the shadows by the Gatehouse and looks over you all with emotionless black eyes. For most of you, this is only the second time you’ve ever met this member of the triplets: Koda, the master of spies for the guild.
Having looked over you all, Koda eventually speaks in an unsettling, monotone, emotionless voice, “Recruits. Off on a trip. Down to Phandalin. The road is dangerous. The ...town... is dangerous. Ears should stay open. Maybe you bring me news. If you come back” There’s a strange, almost-titter from the androgynous tiefling and they tilt their head to one side, “Don’t die...” It’s the most you’ve ever heard Koda say. Then they move past you with an almost unnatural grace, crossing the training ground and entering the main building.

Talen can only silently nod at Kyshana's comment. That the road isn't safe is bad enought, but a whole town being dangerous? Has the town been overrun by Evil Forces? Or are they attacking strangers like us? Are they preparing for war against this town?
"So the guild could send us there to fix the town? If it somehow has become dangerous?"
Feng nervously chuckles and looks around at the others... So did that freak anyone else out? He seems to think there a is a possibility of us dying on this mission. How 'bout we prove him wrong?if we keep our heads about us and protect eachother we should be safe.
There is always a chance to die doing anything, it just seems that town has a higher chance of killing us. Now I suppose we are to meet with the contact? Let us go then.
Then Charmine starts walking to the direction of the meeting place with the client.
As they are making their way to the client Feng starts rummaging in his pack I almost forgot, the quartermaster was able to give me 2 healer's kits, which will come in very handy in case we are spread out and someone goes down. Anyone want to carry one? She also gave me an item she has been working on which will help with healing. I was planning on attuning to it, but if the group has other ideas I am willing to listen. (I have a +5 to my medicine checks)
Morg grasp his javelin/walking stick asKoda walks by the group. Morg clan call them spooks, always give wide berth and keep eye on them. Don't trust them, don't turn back to them. More dangerous than goblin or giant, not see danger 'til too late.
Morg can carry heal kit, not good using it, and probably have to use on Morg first, and might get broken if attack happen, or if Morg touch too much.
Lyle shivers, as the group walks away from the unnerving spymaster. "Why must anyone be so frightening? I swear, I fear one of these days I am going to wake up in the middle of the night and see him standing over me."
"If you'd like, I'd be happy to carry the healer's kit or that item you are talking about. I may not have much experience treating people, but my small size makes it easy for me to slip past enemies to treat someone. It may not be much, but it's something. Not like I'm doing much else in a fight..." The last bit he mutters to himself, lamenting his inability to help much in a fight.
(OOC: I only have a +1 to medicine checks, but the Halflings' Lucky trait means it is highly unlikely that I'll ever break the orb.)
Morg is visibly anxious, waiting for someone to take charge, and get their party started on their way. Years of being conditioned to follow and to "know his place" as his father, uncles and brothers would tell him, makes him adverse to taking the lead.
Feng nods at the input. He hands the Improved healer's kit to Lyle, and the 2 regular healer's kits to Kyshana and Morg. Alright everyone, i think its time we get this mission started don't you guys? Lets head to the meet up site.
He leaves the area and starts walking to the rendezvous point.
(The healer kits only stabalize people who fall in battle so they dont have to make saving throws. I think they come back up to 1hp. Dont need a medicine check for those i think. I am passing them out to people who wouldnt be in immediate combat so they dont have to try and disengage before helping fallen comrades)
(((((Here is the description: This kit is a leather pouch containing bandages, salves, and splints. The kit has ten uses. As an action, you can expend one use of the kit to stabilize a creature that has 0 Hit Points, without needing to make a Wisdom (Medicine) check.))))
(As sfeldman says, the healer’s kit basically just stops people from dying. The improved healer’s kit is a homebrew item that acts more like a first aid kit and speeds recovery (you get the maximum possible hp back when spending Hit die to heal during a short rest, so if your hit die are d10, you automatically get 10 from the die))
Even though it’s early, the weather is already rather mild and there are plenty of people already moving around the city. Eventually, you all convene at the Gatehouse itself, which is an unimpressive building that only really has three walls on the ground floor, where wagons and such are stored.
You are stopped by a human woman in Guard’s uniform as you approach the archway openings to the main floor.
”Ah, can I help you?” She asks.

Go ahead and carry them. I'm sure it will be more useful in your hands Fang? Feng? Certainly wouldn't be of use in my hands, not really healing hands.
