The general peaceful ambience of the bar is shattered when the door is flung open, and the warmth is pierced by the cold wind that follows.
"Ships! Off the coast! Giant ships!"
The human shouting is all bundled up in furs, but even through the layers you can see his face matches the terrified sound of his voice. The patrons of the bar all scramble to look out the foggy windows, and some rush out the open door.
If you follow any of these patrons, you'll notice that out about a mile off the coast, there are indeed exceptionally large ships, sailing towards the north on the frigid wind...not directly towards you, but not away from you, either.
// And we're back! Welcome back everyone, leaving room for responses here. //
When the door is flung open, Swiper is startled out of his seat, dropping the next of his mugs on the floor. "Gah!" He begins to panic. Ships?! Giant ships?! "They're out to get me I tells ya!" He squawks out, feathers ruffled, bolting out. "I gotta get outta here!! Later fools!" The kenku weaves in and disappears between the crowd of panicking people.

Nirzeg lets out a long and exasperated sigh at the news. Yet, after taking one last look at the glass in hand, the rest of the contents are downed in almost one singular move. "There goes my evening."He states to no one in particular, before then snatching up a bottle (if one is at the table) while casually strolling out the door for a proper looksy. "Ah.. ****ity ****y. Hey Chatterbox? Mind-..." As he turned to look for the Kenku, only then does the sqwaking and shout before truly register in mind.
"Typical.. And here I actually had high hopes for the little one."In the process of turning back to the boat once more, seeing Tomac, Nirzeg says, "Unless you're planning to stick around to properly rally the gawk squad, I suggest getting to our ship before those ****ers do. Or to your beast, better yet. Once we're in the air, we'll figure things out from there." With that, assuming the group's ship is docked nearby, he clicks his heels together, causing some internal mechanism in the boot to whirr to life before the githyanki goes running off for the air ship at incredible speed.

Studying the massive ship's trajectory, Tomac can tell that the vessel is sailing along the coast. Its white sails are oddly shaped, but it seems to be moving at an impressive speed. From this distance, and through the encroaching fog, it's hard to make out any more details.
--
With his magical speed, it doesn't take long for Nirzeg to reach the airship. Delsephine and the rest of her crew are huddled around the elemental-powered furnace, keeping warm. The ship is at the ready.
Lydia is sad that her best bird buddy had to leave, but she knows that he can keep himself safe, mainly by hiding and keeping a distance between himself and the danger. Which is also why she runs for the ship!

The crew gets the airship in the sky quickly. They follow your directions, and although the gondola is buffeted by the strong arctic wind, they keep the ship stable in the air.
By the time you get into the air, you see that the greatship, which you saw sailing north along the coastline, has disappeared into the rolling fog. Do you wish to pursue it into the fog?
If so, please...
issue your orders to the crew, and
make a group Wisdom (Perception) check.
Regardless, the crew stands ready for your orders.
The rest of you see Tomac and Gruff dart forward, and the griffon's leonine tail is the last thing you see as they plunge into the fog.
Tomac, the fog thins a bit as you search, and you see great sails made from white dragon wings! Beyond the sails, you notice that the greatship seems to be maneuvering in the fog, and is coming about to the port. On the deck of the greatship are several frost giants, working in the gloom of the fog. A scant few of them carry torches, giving minimal illumination to the others.
// Tomac, you can continue scouting & recon with a DC 13 Stealth check from Gruff, OR you can retreat back to the airship with no check needed. //
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Though Nirzeg looks to the rest of the party, unless complaints are voiced immediately or some counter command given, Nirzeg directs the good captain to take flight and pursue. Even if there wasn't exactly a reward on the line, the Githyanki at least remained determined to squeeze out every bit of intel he could from the townsfolk before their demise. And he couldn't very well do that with a bunch of giants potentially setting up to raid them!
Once things are in emotion, only then does he registers Tormac having taken off ahead on a griffon. Torn between confusion and mild annoyance, Nirzeg eventually relays to the captain again, and by extension the crew, the plan to pursue at a distance, as much as the fog alloted. "Say, uhm.. Lydia? Lydia. Ahem. Don't suppose you can do anything about the fog in a pinch today can you? Not saying do so now, but wondering all the same."He request while trying to keep out of the way of the crew.
Nirzeg spots Tomac first, then luckily spots the greatship on the waves below. While the airship crew are all being as quiet as possible, the giants below are shouting indistinctly at each other as the long ship rudders hard to port.
The ship finishes coming about, then angles for what is a straight line towards the docks of Fireshear!
// The giants have not yet spotted you; what do you want to do? //
(Introducing our two newest characters, Vall & Whisper!)
As the dusk settles in, the two of you happen to be near the docks when the burly griffon rider flies by, yelling about giants approaching. You figure he's probably talking about the longship you saw earlier, off the coast. All you can see as you stare out at the ocean is the heavy fog that slowly encroaches Fireshear, obscuring the both the sea and the setting sun.
There are only a scant few workers and merchants down at the docks, as most workers have already packed it in for the evening. The wind that carries the fog toward you is wet and freezing, and feels particularly foreboding.
// Go ahead and take this opportunity to describe your characters, and what you plan on doing at this moment. //
Seeing the Griffon fly above and hearing about giants, I set my Hawk, Halcyon off - "Tell me what you see, my friend" I say as he takes off. I sniff the air as I await the return of my hawk, looking for a place to hide if need be, and fight if I must.
The wind blows, and my dark green cloak ruffles in the breeze. My white fur matches the surrounding snows, and I scan the area and the few people nearby. With my left green eye and my right brown eye, I blink out a few snowflakes and scrunch my Tabaxi nose in the air. The stench of Giants hits my lungs and my clawed hand reaches for one of the swords at my side.
Hearing the griffon rider's warning, I slowly walk to the edge of the docks, seeing only fog at the sea. Curiosity is the sole reason I stay, something that helps creatures discover something, though it also brings death with it. I wait patiently looking at the sea.
A brown mask covers my face, with thick silverish-blue hair hiding most of the skin on the face, save for the protruding elven ears My brown and green robe, and white witch-like hat ruffles through from the wind. I listen closely, as a raven above the docks cawing, "Danger!" as it circles around. I slowly prepare myself for what danger will be present in the moment's time.
