In advance, Kai will hold a sacred flame if things go wrong with releasing the creature prepared to attack if it is hostile, watching Moss and the scroll with focus. As she watches, she will, with disdain, try to recall any of her teachings from her old temple regarding creatures in scrolls or anything like this. As she does, her fingertips glow aqua green with the held flame.
It is a scroll case, a woden pipe closed off on both ends with a lid. It is used to protect and store scrolls and maps. Without opening all you know for sure is, that there is some kind of bug or arachnoid in it.

"You have something of interest?" Moss asks as she takes a look. "Oh, hello there," she says upon seeing the creature.
Animal Handling to try and bond with it: 15
[What check do you want to identify it? Also my speech with beast says I get advantage on CHA actions, but can I use it for animal handling instead because that doesn't make sense when WIS is the modifier for Animal Handling.]
Moss you open the case and you find a very angry scorpion in it. With your calming nature and knowledge of its kind, you are able to stop it from attacking you and calming it down to the point where it trusts you enough to handle it safely. It is still a wild animal and you get the impression that anyone else will most likely get attacked if they clumsily try to hold it.
"You're so very beautiful," Moss says as she gently takes the scorpion from the container and hands it back to Kai. "The journey upset it, that's all. But I imagine it was protecting something quite important. A scorpion's quite a trap to set. You did your job very well, friend. Come travel with me." She holds her hand to her shoulder to let the scorpion ride there if it wished to stay with them.
Kai frowns slightly at the empty scroll before shrugging and handing it back to Moss. "Empty. But I suppose it could remain the home of your scorpion friend. However, if that thing starts attacking people, I don't think anyone will hesitate to subdue it. Keep a good handle on it please. We don't need anyone getting stung." Kai will then glance to the rest of the group. "Let's hide this cart and be on our way. There's a nice spot over here." She will direct Nobody with the cart over to the spot she found and will help (Help- advantage on roll) anyone who will attempt to hide the cart.

Disheartened by Moss' words, a crestfallen Nobody stares hard at the ground for a while, leaving Mal to deal and others manage things for a time. "Master once warned not to overthink things too much."He says off-offhandedly after some time while still looking to the ground. Sighin in relief on a location being found to hide Betsy, Nobody regains at least some of his vigor during the move.
He also experiments a little by trying to soil parts of the cart with dirt and grass matter, hoping to further mask the scent of both. As well as taking some fallen tree branches and using them alongside tiefling tail to brush up and obscure any tracks back to the road. He spends no more than two to three minutes on even trying, if even that much, knowing at some were in a hurry even with several hours left of daytime on their side.
"Ooh! That is an interesting specimen. But if we are all done playing with arachnids, shall we be off then? On the trail, I mean. Er, goblin trail. Yes. This is what is meant. Mmph. So flustered."He clears his throat. "Miss Moss. If you would show me the path you found again. And, uh... Let's say our less quiet oriented fellows hang back by about, hm.. twenty, thirty feet at least? Just so that there is at least some breathing room. We could even mark the path as we go to make things easier to follow or find our way, if the rest of you wish."He holds up his hands up. "I-I know sticking together is key, but thought being twenty feet apart would not be so bad. Or at least, its a lesser gamble than trying to comeback to this in the morning. The more time we give them to prepare, the less our odds of success even fully rested after all!"
Once there are no further debates on the subject, Nobody creeps along towards following' Moss' lead, or at least the path shown by her. For all his appearant frailty, the tiefling did not at all appear overly concerned about taking point. Worried about another ambush to keep an eye out, sure, but not so much about being towards the front at least.

Kai will remain in the 2nd group that will follow behind, also relatively knowing the path. She will also keep a lookout behind the groups once they begin their tracking through the woods. With some thought, she will look to the forward group. "Marking the path for the group behind may be helpful in the event we get off course or into any trouble and lose the tracks."

You spend a few minutes to hide the wagon and take care of Betsy. Once you are satisfied with your effort you return to the road and the goblin trail. After some deliberation you settle on Moss and Maltake takeing the lead, Nobody and Ostran in the middle and Leona, Kai and Hazel bring up the rear.
You walk in this formation for around 15 minutes when Maltake suddenly raises his hand to signal everyone to stop. Maltake and Moss, you see a snare hidden on the trail.
Moss will have gently placed the scorpion back in the case and strapped it to her bag so it won't move so much. Leaving one end open so it knows it is not trapped.
"I believe this is your department," Moss says to Mal. She reaches out to draw a symbol on his shoulder. "May nature guide you friend." She casts guidance.
Hazel keeps quite while the party decides to fallow the goblin trail, sticking close to Leona and Kai. As they walk the trail anxiety clutches at Hazel’s chest, whispering to himself to calm his emotions and keep himself in check.
Maltake, you check the contraption for any hidden surprises, but you don't see anything out of the ordinary. So you grab a piece of wood from the ground and trigger the snare with it. The rope pulls tight and jerks upward, forcing the old branch you used up and out of your hand. It is now hanging 2 feet above your head in the air.
You keep on following the trail, Moss concentraiting on the tracks and Mal looking out for traps. After another 10 minutes you see a 6 by 6 feet patch on the ground covered with withered fern and leaves.
Kai frowns as the traps continue along the trail. In a hushed tone, she whispers to no one in particular. "I don't like this. The tracks seem to follow these traps. Best be alert in case this is a set up."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mal will tell the others that there is another trap on the trail and they should watch their step.
From a distance, using his quarterstaff he will try to disarm the trap, just in case one of the others is clumsy enough to step on the ground.
Dexterity Check: 17
I have to agree with Kai on this. These goblins do not want to be found. We've been lucky so far in finding the traps but I don't know how far we have to go. Just be vigilant guys.
"I concur, to an extent. These traps so far feel less like deterrents, and moreso like attempts to impede someone trying to follow immediately after them. Or capture them for alter. It is a good thing we had not chased so closely after the one that fled, or we might have been in real trouble."
Nobody falls into contemplative silence at that point. One occasionally broken by a mutter at this point of having "misused Biscuit" earlier. If the next trap can simply be walked around, he chooses that over going through it after it is disabled.

You continue your chase, one person tracking and another one looking for danger. After 10 more minutes you start catching glimpses of a small creek east of you, to your right. A few more minutes and you reach a clearing. The clearing is around 100 feet long and 30 feet wide. The creek runs on the eastern side of it and seams to come from inside the hill in front of you. On the other two sides of the clearing and behind the stream, your view gets obscured by the surrounding forest.
Kai will give Nobody a hesitant pat on the shoulder in an attempt of comfort before she will look curiously and happily at the stream. She will check for any enemies in the surrounding area and keep an eye on the river. If she spots no enemies in the nearby area, she will try to get close enough to the river to judge its depth, staying as quiet as possible while keeping an eye out for anything hidden or signs of tracks from the goblins, remaining near the back of the group.

The tracks you followed are leading north to where the stream breaks out of the hill. There seams to be a cave entrance. The stream is very shallow and slow here, you could walk through it, but the riverbank on the other side is blocked with dense blackberry bushes in bloom. You would have to find a way around further north or south.
