Soar nods. "Make us both fly and I bet we can do it!"she says. She's sounding a bit more like the Soar Bazavur knows from before. She tries to lift the boulder with Bazavur. Then, assuming they can heft it, once Tobin casts, she will try to fly up, still holding it with Bazavur, and carry it through the air past the boulder the cyclope threw.
Soar drops her pack and possessions and reaches down to grab the boulder on one side, leaving Bazavur to grab the other. She begins to lift with him, steadying it, and once they have a good handle on it, she nods to Tobin to cast. Then she tries lifting up, flying in tandem with Bazavur, lifting about 10 feet in the air, going past the boulder the cyclope threw.
You can do that yes. You lift the boulder together, and fly while carrying it. At the end, you remain suspended in the air, carrying the boulder, ten feet above the ground, and five feet further than the boulder the cyclops threw. The cyclopes both continue to regard you, somewhat expectantly. What will you do now?
Soar gives a count to Bazavur in time with Tobin's miming and then they drop it together. She pauses and looks at the cyclopes. She refrains from immediately flying around like an exultant goofball. After all, her name is Soar.
If we are actually able to throw, even like another couple feet, at the end of the flying "trajectory" then sure, we can do that! I assumed it wasn't possible.
You manage to throw it a few extra feet. The boulder lands with a thud.
The cyclops who spoke looks at the other, who shrugs. The first cyclops says "You have succeeded," (only Soar can understand, of course) and as they do so, the boulder that the cyclops threw splits apart, revealing a topaz gemstone at its heart. The cyclopes, their job done, ignore you all and head back to their sheep.
Soar says, "thank you, what's your name? Have you lived here a long time? What do you know about the tower?"
She then blinks, and translates both ends for the rest of the group.
"I think we use that gemstone just like the last one from the pool? Thanks Tobin, and nice work, Bazavur. This is a strange place. Shall we try moving along?"she says, grabbing the gemstone and handing it to whoever had the last one (Tobin? Aiwin? I forget.)
She flies up, just above the hedges, and looks at the tower, and tries to see if she can see anything new, or a path, or the area with the sundial. She loops around quite a bit, getting used to flying. She thanks Tobin a few more times. She loves this new ability.
And she's ready to move along, assuming the cyclopes and the sheep don't attack.
The cyclopes ignore you completely as they walk away.
Soar hands over the gem (to Tobin I think?) and then flies up.
Bazavur, Aiwin, Tobin and Varan, you all see Soar fly up above the hedges, and then vanish. She does not return, and you do not hear any sound from her.
The smile leaving his face, Tobin says, "Well, that's not good. We may have to wait for Soar to thread the maze again if flying above it kicked her out..."

Tobin, you have seen enough to know that there is powerful magic embedded into this place, and that in terms of space and movement, it follows its own rules. You can only suppose that Soar has been deposited somewhere and isn't able to return, but you can't sense any specific spell that is responsible.
”Let us assume for now that Soar has transported out of the maze and will need to retrace our steps to catch back up to us,” says Tobin.
”We could wait here for her and I could use the time to identify the magic items, or we could keep moving ahead and mark our trail—what do you think?” Tobin asks the others.
(For what it is worth, Tobin will maintain concentration on his Flight spell)
“Sounds good to me. Let’s try that.” Bazavur wlks over near Soar. Ready to help heft the boulder.
Soar nods. "Make us both fly and I bet we can do it!" she says. She's sounding a bit more like the Soar Bazavur knows from before. She tries to lift the boulder with Bazavur. Is Tobin casting the spell?
And if he does, exactly what will Soar and Bazavur do? Please describe it in detail (for reasons).
Tobin will cast the fly spell at level 4 to get both of them assuming they can lift the Boulder.

Together they can, yes.

Tobin:
Tobin mimes throwing the Boulder through the air the last few feet, hoping that satisfies the requirements and his friends agree…

Drop? Or throw? 'Cause you said 'drop' but Tobin was miming 'throw'.
