”Well, there are eight symbols and eight possible exits from the sundial intersection, so that might be a clue,” says Tobin, consulting his notes.
”The last pattern of shadows that worked to get us here were four shadows filling the directions between the cardinal directions,” he considers. Tobin tries to look for a pattern in the arrangement of symbols or the nature of the symbols themselves that might mirror that of the final set of shadows.

Tobin, you stare at the symbols for a while, as everyone crowds around behind you on the circle. You really don't detect any such pattern in how the symbols are laid out. The symbol of the right-angled triangle somewhat resembles the sundials' shape. Perhaps that refers to this location, and the others refer to other locations?
”Let’s assume that the right triangle represents the sundial and our current location,” suggests Tobin.
”Of the other shapes, the chair can be made with three lines, so perhaps that matches the triangle. The square and rectangle can each be made with four lines, as can the hourglass. The upside down L is two lines, as is the flame. The star takes five lines to draw in its standard form,” he continues.
”Perhaps a pictogram or pair of them refer to a floor of the tower defined by the number of lines used to make the image,” he guesses.
(Please correct if the actual pictographs are a different number of lines. I just drew each one simply on paper the way I imagine it, but Tobin is actually looking at them).

"So what do you think? Perhaps push the square and rectangle at the same time?" suggests Tobin, "Maybe it will take us to whatever is represented by the 4 lined-location."
Bazavur reaches out, but his hand pauses before he touches the symbols, for a second or two.
A body drops to the ground, ten feet to the left of you, landing with an unpleasant thud on the rocky ground. It is dressed in what you would recognise as armour of the Cult of the Dragon.
It came from above, no doubt. You don't see any large open windows, but near the top you see what might be a recess in the wall; you can't see much from this angle, but perhaps a flicker of movement, and then it's gone. It's high, far above you and out of reach.
Bazavur says falteringly, “I think that was the person I just heard in my head. They said something about the mask being hidden and to press the hour glass symbol to get there.”
He pauses and looks at the body while Varan and Soar investigate it before continuing seemingly less shaken than before
“Could be a trap. But, if it isn’t and we have a chance to get another off the masks we should probably hurry right Soar?”
Varan and Soar, you find a pouch with five gold and thirteen silvers, and the mace the woman was carrying. The armour is dented from the fall, but is clearly not a particulary high-ranking cultist.
Looking up at the ledge, Tobin considers, “I do not know if the scattering magic would disperse us if we were to try to ascend upwards to that ledge, but the corpse before us appears to have traveled down unimpeded. Perhaps our contact is sending us a message?”

Varan tosses the pouch of money to Soar and add the mace to his pack, "Maybe we all need to be in the circle before the symbol is touched? If they wanted to send a message they could have put a note on the body."

Varan, none of the symbols show any wear at all - which would be consistent with them being magical.
"What if we press them all at once?"

(nothing to correct - the symbols are as you have imagined them)

Soar's eyes dart to the tower directly above the body, trying to find out where it came from. "Wait!"
Perception: 20 (somehow)
After she finds out what she can about where it came from, she will approach and carefully search it.
It came from above, no doubt. You don't see any large open windows, but near the top you see what might be a recess in the wall; you can't see much from this angle, but perhaps a flicker of movement, and then it's gone. It's high, far above you and out of reach.
Varan walks over to the corpse and begins inspecting them. "Might as well look for anythin' useful on them."

(Anything resembling an hour glass?)
No, nothing at all.

”Yea, that would have been more convenient,” says Tobin dryly. “Shall we continue, then,” he asks, stepping back into the circle.
