Kazri sheaths her sword away, and tries to relax a little. Once inside, she uses her Divine Sense.
Edited post to clarify, King Korboz did not open the door.
Ops. Sorry about that. In that case, Kazri keeps her sword out.

"Oh how I would surely love to meet you, but are you sure it is safe to open the door? There is a shapechanger about and I would not want to let it in. But I do so wish to meet you." King Korboz answers.
A moment later the door opens a crack and the gnome king peeks out.
"It is I! Chip Tune-Tail! Here before your eyes!" He would bellow as his cape whips around behind him as though there was a strong wind blowing against his face. "Could a shape changer dazzle he eyes and and ears like this?" He would say as he strums a few more chords and surrounds himself with dancing lights before giving the gnome a grin. "I assure you I am the real deal."
"Be careful out there. A shapechanger attacked us. It was a rug in the throne room and attacked my fellow king. The rug is gone and we don't know where it went or what it looks like. It's not safe to be out there. You look like a tough bunch, find and kill it and we'll give you magical gifts in return."
Krom tries to understand if the gnome king is telling the truth and then says "A shapechanger attacked your fellow king? Your Majesty, where is your other king now?" after a few seconds he says "Pardon my manners Your Majesty, my name is Krom Firebeard and I am a Smith of Moradin, could I please examine your royal person in order to check if everything is all right? If there is a shapechanger on the loose, we have to be certain that it did not manage to shape into an object on your person."

"Your Majesty. My name is Kazri and I am part of the Waterdeep’s City Guard. Well, I was... At any rate. I can attest that my companion's heart is true, and we only wish to assist with your troubles." Says Kazri as she get closer to the door. (Persuasion: 12)

"A Smith? We don't need a smith. Gnerkli is fine. A rug attacked us I say! It was a shape changer I tell you. I'm not crazy, it was a rug! Get the rug!" His voice gets higher in pitch as he talks, more frantic.
With that said he quickly slams the door shut and locks it.
While Krom may not know gnome behavior very well, Korboz certainly did seem very out of sorts as he talked and definitely terrified.
"So you don't want any autographs then..." Chip would say as the door slams in his face... still holding his lute as the lights swirl and his cape slowly falls as though someone turned off the imaginary fan.
Chill leans against the wall near the back of the line enjoying the show.
"That guys is nuts is what I say. A rug attacked him? Likely he was staggered drunk and slipped and fell and got rolled up in it or is just plain off his rocker. A rug?" Chill chuckles.
"Perhaps we might ask around if anybody has seen anything out of ordinary..."Suggests Kazri.

"A better start that outright dismissing him. I've seen plenty of drunkards before and none have been so paranoid after a mere spill. Not without some OUTSIDE help, anyways." Rhogar chuckled softly. "And there is still the matter of those missing gnomes. Victims, perhaps, of this rogue rug. Though honestly, is one being alive so strange a thing after seeing stick figures come to life?" He asked, grinning to Chill. Once answered, he turns back to the rest, "To amend my statement before, Kazri. Considering the state the king's in, we can ask, but if this been going on for some time, I doubt they'd have more for us. So, let's do what exploring we can, and maybe poke at some things with the pointy tips of our weapons, eh?"
With that said, unless there are any objections, a more confident Rhogar strides ahead on towards the south, aiming to check out the room there, seeing as the gnomes didn't mind so far their wandering about unsupervised.

Kazri looks at the Dragon Slayer Sword. "Indeed, Mr. Nimbatuul. I have been so used to blunt weapons, that I had failed to notice that this wonderful weapons actually is pretty pointy." Kazri touches the pointy end of the sword. "Yes it seems pretty sharp alright. I supposed us going around poking things is better than dealing with a mad king."
