The goblin was on a bridge above us, so we probably need to get to an upper level. I'm not so good at climbing when I'm not a spider... maybe we can take the easiest way up? That looks like it could be the tunnel to our left.
'I can try leading the way up the path. I've got rope, but if anyone has any climbing gear I'd gladly borrow it to help create a path for everyone else to follow up.'
As Zeke says this, he sheathes his blade and shrugs his shield back into place on his shoulder and makes his way over to the rock slide, carefully surveying it for the best path up.

Ethan blasts a firebolt again the railing on the far side of the bridge right next to the goblin's head at the same time that Arvel strikes true, immediately killing the creature. At the same Tarja's thorn whip snaps up and yanks the limp body off of the bridge bringing it splashing down into the stream, the small pipe it had been smoking extinguishing with a tiny puff as it hits the water. Despite the violent nature of the death and the splashing, the group finds that it was not much louder than the increasing noise of the stream and whatever is in the cave up ahead and thus they do not hear any signs of alarm from elsewhere in the cave. Ethan finds that yet another goblin with filed, pointy teeth has the same array of dagger and leather, although his tiny bow is seen teetering on the the edge of the bridge above where he had set it. He also has coins totaling three gold in a tiny pouch.
Zeke finds the steep passage on the left side of the cave before the bridge to be very unstable, but does an expert job of spreading his weight out across at least three points of contact at all times, making his move just in time as he feels certain rocks start to give way. Only tiny, loose debris is sent splashing down into the stream below during his effort. The ledge at the top is a section of rock several feet wide but Zeke can see a large crack about a foot beyond the edge. He quickly makes his last move, pushing off from a solid foot hold and rolling to beyond the cracked ledge as opposed to putting all of his weight on it. The mighty tiefling knows others will have more trouble and even with assistance it could be a struggle for some.
Nice team effort there, and nice Athletics roll by Zeke!
If others are climbing, Athletics with Advantage assuming Zeke helps with rope. I'll adjust the DC, etc. depending on exactly what you all describe doing from there. No Fly spells yet, eh? ;)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tarjaeyes the unstable rocks warily, and puts away her weapons and shield. To see better, she asks Fae to hold up one of her light-stones - even with darkvision, it's better to have a little bit of light to see by! She tries to look carefully at the slope, finding any bits of ground that appear more stable, and starts climbing, trying to keep her weight on the rope.
No fly spells, and I'm all out of wildshapes until a short rest!

Since I'm trying to use perception to help find the best path, here's a Perception check: 24
After reaching the top one way or another, Tarja readies her shield again, and is also able to provide some light to help others climb, if needed.
Tarja is able to maintain her grip on the rope but struggles with her footing, sending quite a good deal of small and medium sized stones crashing to the cave floor as she eventually scrambles her way up the steep embankment to join Zeke. It makes a moderate amount of noise that echoes a bit in the cavern.
Arvel and Elra struggle a little to cling to Zeke's rope and not send the whole slope of loose rubble crashing down but ultimately only send a few small pebbles each splashing into the stream and thus reach the narrow tunnel above unscathed.
Fae would hesitate, holding back as long as she could. Knowing this wouldn't be her strongest suit, she'd have to get herself a little personal pep talk. She'd pop her glow stone between her lips to be able to still see what she's doing. She'd take a big breath through her nose and grab the rope to climb.
Fae struggles a little but holds on and fairs about as well as Arvel and Elra had, only causing a few loose pebbles to splash into the stream with minimal noise. Ethan's feet clamber about and knock several larger stones down into the stream with a clatter and an echo, however.
This passage leads west and is much shorter and narrower than the main cave. The ground is solid for another fifteen feet until the group finds another crumbling slope about five feet high. This time however there area some large, solid stones the party can carefully move between if they wish to continue up this path. At the top of the slope dim light shines through a wooden frame supporting the tunnel. Three horizontal boards are nailed crookedly to the frame blocking passage, although there is a sizable gap at the bottom, at least enough room for a goblin to slide through without difficulty. The wooden structure seems to separate this tunnel from a larger room beyond where two goblins can be heard apparently arguing in their native tongue.
How small is the gap in the boards relative to us? Like, could one of us get through if we ducked down? Or is it too small for us to get through as is? Or somewhere in the middle, maybe passable with a check?
Fae hears two goblins arguing mere feat from the wooden barricade. "I told I heard something. Go check.""You go check. It's probably just Gix seeing how far he can bounce a rock down the tunnel, or the others coming back with fresh meat from the road." "I don't want to miss all of the fun. We've got fresh meat right here, though he aint lookin' so fresh now, is he?"
Further off and to her left Fae hears more faintly "quit toying with him, Yeemik. Let's put 'em on the spit, maybe a leg to start."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fae's eyes would go wide, darting back and forth as she listens to the goblins make exchanges. She covers her mouth to keep herself from gasping in concern, only able to speculate who they could be talking about. She'd swallow hard, scrambling to pull out her quill and a piece of parchment.
"Someone serious danger. Move FAST. QUIET. Suspicious." She'd hold her quill in her mouth as she lights the paper up from behind with her stone presenting it to her team mates.
She'd scan frantically for the fastest way... wondering if they should just barge through.
Tarja crouches down and faces the door, ready to attack. She can fight just fine even if she only sees the enemy through small gaps in the boards, so she's ready to go on the mark, to creep forward and blast the goblins through the opening before they know what hit 'em.
Initiative: 22
Stealth: (to get up to the boards and do something from there): 11
Zeke reads Fae's note, nods his head once and draws his blade. A quick look to the rest of the party and Zeke springs forward, moving as quickly and quietly as possible. He won't let these fiends get to whoever they're torturing, an he's confident his friends will be right on his heels.
Seeing the barricade barring the path, Zeke smashes through the barrier to clear the way for the rest of the party.
Fae mostly just hears more petty bickering and debate about whether to keep their alleged prisoner for the joy of torturing a while longer, or to have a feast of flesh. She does also heard a low, muffled groan of pain at one point as well.

No one speaks goblin, correct?
Shae would put up her fingee and she'd close her eyes to concentrate on the sound of the goblins.
