Acerack calmly raises a hand, not evening bothering to flinch or move his body. An invisible shield of magic rises in front of him. Grenk's arrows both slam off of it twirling away harmlessly. Likewise, four rapid crossbow bolt shots from Mal lance across the space and strike it, twirling away past the undead creature without touching him.

Badger is still disoriented from his near-death experience, and can hardly believe that Acererak is really there before them. Badger isn't ready! This isn't the time! He knew the day would come (as he knows all things of the future) where he would have to test himself against the lich after claiming the dungeon for himself, but not now when we was so weakened. What a mind the legendary lich must have! Badger stabs out at Acererak's mind with his own mental powers...

Badger's Mind Spike spell washes across the Lich's mind...pushing Badger back out of his mind....leaving behind a slight headache.
The black sphere next to Acerack suddenly starts moving....at a very high speed, and zips across the room towards the group. As it gets closer, you still can't see any reflection, depth or shape to it at all. It's just...a black round spot in the universe...absent of anything. It flies through the group, zig zagging under the Lich's mental control, his hand directing it as it zips and flies in a jagged line trying to strike, Keshma, Sickle, Silas, and Badger....everyone trying to duck and dive to avoid getting struck by the mobile hole of pure destructive nothing.
Silas, Badger, DC 13 Dex save or take 14 force damage.
Keshma Dex save: 12
Sickle Dex save: 18
Keshma and Sickle both manage to duck out of the way as the black ball of nothingness zips past them.
Sickle walks to one side, still incredibly calm, and reaches out a hand. A huge wall of ice arcs around the edge of the far balcony, completely blocking off Acerack from view, while yet more ice stacks inside the space...and though you can't see, the ice slams into Acerack. The wall is 20 feet high and then sealed off on the top, completely encasing him in ice.
Acerack Dex save : 18 vs DC 17. Take 40 cold damage, or half on save, and pushed away from portal.
Keshma growls, her target gone. She floats 30 feet out over the lava towards the spot, and opens her arms....an earth elemental seems to crawl out of the wall above the ice wall, and crouches on the top of the ice wall above where Acerack was standing, glancing down, and waiting for a target to appear. (So, Acerack is now completely encased in an ice room on the far balcony, and there is an earth elemental standing on the roof of the ice room.)

All at once Acerack appears on the west balcony. A bright crack of lightning is tearing through the group, striking Silas, then Badger, then bouncing to Sickle, then over to Grenk. Only Mal and Keshma seem spared from the powerful blast.
Silas, Badger, Grenk, DC 23 Dex save. 41 lightning damage, save for half.
Sickle save: 15.
Sickle collapses, blasted by the spell. His ice wall fades away and the elemental on the far side falls to the platform with a heavy crash.
Mal, you notice there is a skeleton standing next to you.

Grenk feels the flash of Magic before he can even see it and begins to move. Dex save 18 but he's not quick enough. Despite this, the normally light hearted unicorn rabbit is raging around him his spirit deflects the damage aside.
He pulls up his bow for two more shots and yells out, "Keshma! I need a bridge, connect the platforms!" He then takes his two shots
Attack: 30 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. poison + Unable to parse dice roll. radiant and 5 extra radiant if it's undead

Ooc: the that was some poor rolls for my save but good thing that spell didn't pierce the buffer hp.
So the damage didn't go... that should be arrow 14 + 4 poison + 2 radiant and the 6 from above if he's undead
Badger takes the full brunt of the lich's lightning bolt, and his gnome-sized skeleton is visible in cartoonish fashion as he gets electrocuted. But then his smoking form suddenly recovers in equally cartoonish fashion and he is ready to retaliate...
Two can play at this game, Badger mumbles, and he unleashes a Fireball at Acererak.
Fireball at 4th level for 35 fire damage, or DC 17 DEX save for half.
Mal will look at the skeleton wondering how it got there but then will ignore it for now as she disengages from it and moves over to Sickle to check to see if he still lives. She then will wait to see what happens to the bridge Keshma potentially creates.

Badger, seeing this, realizes there may be some magical wall between them. Though there is obviously a gap somewhere, since Acerack cast lightning through it, it's not obvious where the gap is...does he still wish to cast a fireball?
Mal meanwhile moves away from the skeleton and over to Sickle. His limp body lays on the edge of the pit of lava. As she nears him, she sees he's still smoking a bit, but his chest is moving so he appears to be alive. Mal bends down, and pulls the ring off his friends finger. She seems to hold the cold, steel ring in her hand for a moment....an immeasurable period of time seems to pass in that one moment....as she crouches there....the evil ring in her hand...held there.... and then she just sort of opens her fingers and lets the thing tumble from her hand...down into the lava.
Everyone is expecting a small 'blurp' or 'bloop' or 'sploosh' as it hits the lava, but instead...there's a heavy "thunk". And then the light coming from the lava below suddenly begins to diminish.
The group looks down....and sees the lava the ring landed on has instantly turned into cold hard stone...floating within the lava. The ring sits on the rock surface, perfect and undamaged. And....to everyone's amazement....the lava all around it begins cooling, hard rock slowly creeping across the surface of the molten rock. You figure in a few seconds it will have turned the entire surface of lava into hard, cold...stone.

Badger runs toward Mal and Sickle but runs right past and off the edge. He lands on the solid lava, grabs the ring then teleports to the eastern balcony and drinks a potion of healing, regaining 4 HP.
