"I am ready whenever everyone else is." Misty says, getting the feel of her shield and putting her crossbow away. She draws her rapier as they move into the cave. "Anyone able to cast a spell to give us some light?" She asks. "I cannot see in the dark..."
"Oh! I can help with that too! I am really glad I can be so useful." Gniff says as he casts Light on the brooch of his cloak, bathing the area in a warm natural light.
"I like this one." Misty says with a grin for the newcomer. "We ready then?" She asks the others. Her chestnut hair is a bit tussled from the fighting, but her blue eyes are direct as she looks from person to person. With a nod, seeing everyone is ready, she heads towards the cave. "Who is scouting ahead..." She states more than asks. As she reaches Finnian she gives him a bump with her hip, grinning over at him. "Ever had a den full of wolves on those ships of yours?" She asks him.
Conrick follows the party, his hair still somewhat sticking out from like if you’d rubbed a balloon against his hair and made it all staticky. The thing keeping his hair in a man bun broke during the thunder wave so his hair is down now, hanging above his shoulders. He looks at the pile of loot that he could salvage from the goblins but decides he would be no good with a physical weapon and considers that fault in himself.
With the newcomer's ritual complete, the loot mostly divided, and a cave of goblins and wolves still to be cleared, Finnian gives his sling a few test swings before letting it come to a stop at his side. At Misty's return, he returns her grin. "Wolves? No, can't say I've ever seen wolves on a ship. But dogs, cats, pigs, chickens? The lower decks are practically a floatin' barn!"
As looks over the mouth of the cave, he remembers an old sailor's charm to ward off bad luck when in darkness. He quietly scuffs a crude image of a lit torch into the loose soil under his boot and sprinkles a pinch of salt onto the flame, and murmurs, "Carry the fire, carry the light, banish the darkness, banish the night." There's nothing he particularly wants from the pile of loot, though he will take the money to divide among the party later if nobody else does. When everyone is ready, he takes his place towards the center of the group, his sling in one hand, and his focus in the other.
Having piled all of the loot no one wanted in the bushes, to come back for it later, Misty moves with the others into the cave. "Thanks." She tells the newguy when he casts his light spell.
Edmond, still smiling appreciativley with the by-play between Misty and Finnian, closes one eye to give it a head start in adjusting to the darkness and walks in third in line behind Gerrack and Gimble. And makes a mental note to learn the skill of turning an object into a lamp.
(OOC: for marching order is have Gimble and Gerrack scouting ahead of the party [i'll want a how far ahead of the party are they], Edmond leading the party, followed by Gniff, then Misty, Finnian. [i'll need where Hati and Conrick are.])
(OOC: so i'll need stealth rolls from people trying to stealth, and yes if one bad stealth roll happens it can ruin the group, unless said bad roller is away from the rest of the party, but obviously i'll want to know positions before rolls. I'll want perception checks from Gimble, Gerrack, and Edmond. Gerrack already gave me both perception and stealth so no need. [i don't know why Gerrack gave me an investigation. i am fine with you guys doing rolls with your posts, but you will need to explain what you are doing. You can just roll to see if you get something out of it, your action has to have some sort of intent behind it.])
(OOC: loot reminder: 3 gold pieces, 5 silver pieces, 3 scimitars, 3 shortbows, 58 arrows, 3 leather armors, and 2 shields. [DM's comment i would recommend at least taking the gold and sorting it among the party later])
here is the map of the cave, you guys currently are getting ready to enter the mouth. feel free to plan out your moves.
Misty, feels pretty confident she hid the loot from any potential passerbys or scavengers.
(OOC: @ Gniff, i'll want clarification if Gniff did cast light on himself, if so Gniff and those next to him will not be able to stealth.)
(OOC: @ Edmond, if you want to check for other entrances i'll need an investigation check, and for sure, regardless of the roll it will take time to explore around the cave.)
(OOC: @ Finnian, same thing with Gniff, if you are lighting a torch you will not be able to stealth and you will prevent those next to you the ability to stealth.)
(OOC: @ everyone, what is everyone doing? and if you are going forward are you going to a certain spot on the map, until you encounter something, or will you go a few feet and check, or are you going to follow the barking? [DM's comment, i'll advance the story after i for sure know the marching order and if you guys are stealthing or not. and sorry if it seems like im asking alot of questions, i just want to be clear on what the party is doing before whatever happens next.])
Perception 18 looking into the cavern Edmond tries to get a sense of weather the cavern is a long tunnel to start with, or if it opens into a chamber of some sort close to the entrance.
We ought to go to the 1st section where the cavern opens up wider than single file to start. Also when we go in we should head toward the canines, whether they are dogs or wolves won't matter too much when we get inside.
Finnian picked up the loot money to put into the party pot already, he wrote it in his last post. Also I had assumed "scouting" would involve trap searching, hence the investigation check. Gimble already provided the same rolls (investigation, perception and stealth) for presumably the same things in his previous post as well. I would say the scouts should be 25-30ft in front of the rest of the party, but since this map is a bit small and cramped, if that is too much space the others can feel free to let us know.
GERRACK is scouting ahead in the cave
Movement of scouting is slow to search for traps. Gerrack will move to the first intersection where the cavern opens to a dead end on the right side and check around the corner to see if there are any wolves or other creatures hiding there. If there are none, he will continue to move slowly in the direction of the barking.
(Yes, Gniff cast Light on his brooch, giving 20' light and 20' dim light. He maneuvers himself around and behind Misty to allow more lead for those stealthing ahead. While 10 minutes sounds long, I believe our goal should be the wolves to make better use of the rapidly diminishing time frame on Speak with Animals.)
As Misty needs to have the light spell, or torch, to see, one of those needs to be up regardless of stealthing attempts. She will not be trying to stealth. Also, we spent the time to do the speak with animals, so I agree the barking should be the first destination.

Edmond, looking back to the road and the sides - Are we good to go? And can we plug the cave entrance?
